[ Frequently asked questions - General ]
- ★ What is "Spirit Pass"?
Acquiring Spirit Passes: There are two ways to get Spirit Passes.
- Every month you are in the Event you get one Spirit Pass on the 1st. In January, you start with one pass even though the Event doesn't start on the 1st. (So you get 4 this way if you go through the entire Event: Jan, Feb, March, and April.)
You can also get Spirit Passes by completing Spirit Challenges. These are special themes that are offered throughout the Event, our first is coming up in a few days. Each Spirit Challenge works a little differently and will be described in more detail when it comes up, but usually they are two day interactive themes. I try to have 6-7 of these.
Using Spirit Passes: There are also two different things you use Spirit Passes for!
- Spirit Passes' primary function is to forgive one day's art for Hardcore Artists. If you can't/forget to draw one day, you can use a Spirit Pass instead of a drawing. They also work if you post your drawing after the deadline. Basically, they forgive one day's ********. XD You don't have to make up the art later, but some people like to. If you do make it up, I'd recommend drawing it after you draw the current day so you don't run out of time and end up using another Spirit Pass.
The other use of Spirit Passes is a little more complicated. If you fall off the Hardcore Artists list, you can use 4 Spirit Passes to get back on the list assuming you have all of your art drawn (or forgiven using previous Spirit Passes) up to that point. Our deadline to get back on the Hardcore Artist list this year is going to be Day 65.
Because of that second use of Spirit Passes, if you think you're going to need to use a LOT of Spirit Passes at the beginning of the Event (like, you have internet problems that you think will be resolved) then it's better to wait until Day 65, make sure you have all your art done, and jump back on the Hardcore Artist list. But for most people, it's best to stay on the Hardcore Artists list in the first place and just use Spirit Passes as you need to daily. :3

Soooooo hopefully that helps! We also allow people to participate without having to deal with Spirit Passes or posting daily if they'd like, we just call them Artists (as opposed to Hardcore Artists.)
★ Do I have to draw an art collector with a theme?
No, you do not need to draw a theme if you draw an art collector.
Art collectors is a theme of their own. It is the hidden 7th theme. If none of the themes interest you for the day, draw an art collector's request!
★ Can I draw my friend's OC instead?
Have your friend post their request to be added to the front page, then yes! Absolutely, you can draw them! :)
★ I don't understand these themes! I hate them!!!
These themes were created with a these categories in mind: Challenge, Abstract, Animal, Location, Etc, and Kooky (it's random/weird and doesn't even fit in Etc category).
If you don't like a theme for the day, then you have the option to draw an art collector's request.
If you don't understand or have no idea/inspiration for the themes, you have a few options to choose from:
- Google the word for inspiration
Draw relating words that does inspire you
Strip the theme/word to it's bare necessities and draw it
tab Example: if you don't want to draw "El Dorado," but you want to draw the City of Gold or Lost City, do it! It's related to the theme.
★ Can I combine themes?
Yes, you can combine themes of the same day! You can combine two, all of them, it's up to you! :)
★ AH! THE DEADLINE! I'M LATE!
The deadline is 11:59 EST, we have a ten to twenty minutes grace period for your convenience... please don't panic too much, but do try to get your art in before the deadline.
