Earlier this year I sold a limited doll that I had impulsively put on layaway in the year previous. He was a little Soom Yarn - the bronze scorpion, and he was adorable. But despite his convenient size for taking to meets, when I was at home, I all but ignored him. Eventually, after seeing a doll I really wanted go on sale I decided to see if I could bear to part with the little one. So packed him into his box for over a month and tried to forget about him. While I didn't forget, I did disconnect and soon after, I sold him to a lovely lady who has since completely re-vamped him. She's happy with her 'new' doll, I'm happy with my incoming doll (if somewhat impatient, damn these waiting times), all is good.
I don't know if any of this helps, but that's just one example of a similar situation and what I did.
