So after playing a bit of the game - completing Legend Mode only (where the main story happens) - I decided to do a review. So, the spoiler tag is to kept it short but also because it does contain spoilers that I'll mention when I think it's relevant. There will be no mercy if you click on it.

Control - very simple to me. You attack by spamming two buttons - X and Y - in different combinations for different attacks. The X attack alone is a simple strong attack so to combo, you need to start with Y and then you do different things from there. The only thing I don't like is switching between different items like bombs and arrows. You need to use the directional pad and my hands either like being at the analog or at the direction pad. I don't like switching and I prefer to stay with one item because of this, but the game calls for you using a different combination of items to complete certain missions and handling certain enemies. Monsters will also continue to attack while you're selecting and that's a little annoying.

Character Selection - I found it a little disappointing. The characters that you do get are awesome and for the most part, fun to play as. I also like how the game tries to make you play as other characters but you mostly spam with one character. However, you see other characters that you can only play in other modes. For instance, Ruto is in Legend mode and will help you but she's not playable in this mode. There is also part of the game where you have to Ganondorf and only Ganondorf while I think you should be able to choose between Ghirahim and Zant too. But no. I think they are playable in other modes - I haven't fooled around with other modes like that yet, but it was disappointing that there are characters dangled in your face and you can't have them. I also found some of the characters to be a little short lived. You don't get much chances to play as Agitha, Darunia, Midna and Fi, mainly because the push seems to be for Link, Lana or Impa.

Game Play - in a general note. It's fun to kill things in mass numbers and in that way, the game is thoughtless. Beat the crap out of these, beat the crap out of this guy, and so on. The kick in the pants is that the AIs are useless. You nearly always have to bail them out of trouble or lose the fort, even characters that you would think could take care of themselves, like Impa. I also love how there can be a fort in trouble and there's another fort around the corner full of soldiers doing nothing. You have to think about which objections you need to complete first and if you have the time to run from what you're doing to the other side of the screen to bail someone out of trouble or if you can wait. It likes to throw everything in your face all at once where you have to capture two forts but you also have to escort this person and protect something else. There's a lot of multi-tasking and that part is the challenge.

You can use the B button to instantly break into the run where you would otherwise have to the analog into one direction. You'll need that. I also find it very annoying that if there is someone in trouble and you have to be somewhere in a hurry, there's always some closed gate or door that you can't go through and you have to take a long convoluted route to go around. It only wastes time and I can't see on the zoom out map that you can't go in there. maybe you can on the zoomed in map but I haven't tried that. I can blame my poor navigation skills for getting around most the time but I'm getting real tired of closed doors. There are also times where the doors will close and lock you into a keep until you capture it and then open the chest. i lost a keep once because I was locked in.

I also kind of miss fighting bosses one-on-one. You fight them in the presence of other monsters and it's very distracting to fight a boss when you're completely surrounded. The tougher enemies, like Darknuts, will also go after you in particular (unless I'm unlucky), so you have to fight them and the boss at the same time and it can be troubling in small spaces. There is not one time I remember where you fight one-on-one completely alone. Even with the fight with Cia, she splits herself up and you have to fight four Cias at once but I like this better than being stuck with a lot of monsters at the same time. This is a personal compliant more than anything else.

The game is very fair when you get defeated - you keep all the experience and materials that you earned on the map if you choose to restart the battle or go back the checkpoint. You can just sit there and level up enough if you have any trouble until you beat it and it doesn't send you back very far when you die. There's a reasonable chance to try again.

Story - I have no complaints really. I thought it was interesting - I found Cia's obsession with Link to be a bit of a strange reason to try and destroy Hyrule with but it also turns into a spat with Ganondorf. I can't say that I like that Ganondorf, yet again, hijacks the plot but I do approve of being able to destroy Hyrule for once. It feels odd but I do like how you lead him to a short-lived victory. It felt kind of good to pound Link's face in for once and it's very interesting to be the villain. A perspective switch is kind of welcomed but I do have a hard time with alternate armies sometimes. I got used to what my allies looked like before and now they're different. It just takes a little bit of getting used to.

It's also funny that Impa calls Sheik out on not being part of the Sheikah and if Zant needs help while you're Ganondorf, Ganondorf calls him out that fact that he needs help while he said nothing about Ghirahim. I would have liked for Zant to be epic but apparently, he was never fit for that roll.

Overall, I think it's worth the money for it. I would say that but it was a gift and at that rate, it was really worth playing. heart Despite everything I said, I can still play the game for hours just replaying missions on Legend Mode and there are still three other modes I haven't touched yet. It's simple enough in concept to get you addicted but also frustrates you enough that you have to finish the mission. It feels good to finally kick a** if there's a part that gives you trouble.

Feel free to debate about anything I said, or elaborate, just remember to keep it in spoiler tags. General stuff is okay but it's also better to be safe than sorry.

Anyway, I'll edit this later for mistakes since I need to study and I'm also typing with a migraine. Oops.
