Thank you. I really needed this verse. ^^

So very glad to hear that. It is what I pray for before choosing the topic and verses; that the Lord would give to me those things that they might help someone who really needs them. : )

I always think of my mom when I read Joshua 1:9. She reminds me of this verse whenever I'm worried about something.

2013 Update 1

Topic = Speech

Verse 1 - Ephesians 4:29 ESV "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."
KJV " Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."

Verse 2 - Ephesians 5:4 ESV "Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving."
KJV "Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks."

Topic = His word is from HIM!!!!

Verse = 4/1/12 - 2 Peter 1:20-21 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." KJV

4/18/12 - Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." KJV --Side Note: The Lord takes His word seriously, He will not let it be changed. This verse shows it, therefore we can trust in His word being His word.

This quote from Revelations I find so hardcore, many nonbelievers are ruthless to say that there is no surety in a book so old, but this proves God's power and his severity!

2013 Update 2

Topic = Spending time with the Lord

Verse 1 - Psalm 143:8 May I hear about your loyal love in the morning, for I trust in you. Show me the way I should go, because I long for you. NET --Side Note: Spend time with God in the morning, before life's trouble of the day come so that you may ready for everything.

Verse 2 - Mathew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. ESV (Side note- Set aside time for just you and God, away from life's distractions. Have this one on one time away in a quiet place, humbly, and not in front of others to gain respect. For it is about God, not you.)

I love this idea! And maybe regular announcements would bring more people back to this guild for interaction?

Anyway, for spending time with the Lord, I like 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 Rejoice always. 17 Pray continually. 18 Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Reminds me to keep God in every minute of my day. A goal I often fall short of and need reminding!
