Noob Moves
Cool! Can you teach me how to do cosplays? I think they're cool and I want to learn how to make them myself instead of asking other people. biggrin Also, I have MS Paint too.
It depends what program you are using as to how specifically you get the work done. However the gist of it is to use the color picker tool (eye dropper) to take colors from the origianl sprite then take pieces like (ears, tails wings) and attach them to the sprite.
The key idea here is to use all the pokemon sprites for that pokemon at your disposal because depending on the human pose you will want a specific angle ect.
Here is a good example piece for you
This is the pikachu cosplayer from DPP and what i did was I took off the pikachu ears and tail that she had on her jacket. Then I used the color picker tool to take the blues and put them in the right area (lightest color in the lightest area darkest in the darkest area ect.) The tool i use for recoloring on GIMP (my program) is a Select by color tool that works really nicely you click one pixel of a certain color and then that whole color is selected so it makes recolors take all of a few minutes. Some other programs are a little trickier and you will have to color it pixel for pixel.
Once You add the colors you want then use an example sprite of the pokemon you want the person to cosplay. I chose
For the ears. Since te ears were to wide apart for the girls head i selected one ear at a time and placed them on her head so they looked alright
I used the tail as well but you can see i lightened the end of it a bit to match the inside of the ears.
Does this help you some???
