As noise happened on deck, Kia continued to do things below deck, apparently not just satisfied with simple cookies. They were now being dunked in her very own individual serving of long life milk and she had decided that she'd only go up to see what was going on when she finished her meal.

...after all, stress caused weight gain, and Kia wasn't wanting to be stressed.

When she was done she made her way leisurely up onto top deck again, only catching the last part of what was happening.

"We have a captain now?" She asked brightly, reaching out with one hand to latch onto Taka's hand 'by accident', yanking him behind her. It was really just to finish the earlier battle. And argue. ... also he looked really muscular lately.

"Do we have all the crew? Can we go?" Kia asked, acting as if she was doing nothing odd, but she continued to grip onto Taka's arm but her hand inched down to his, bit by bit, until it found his hand. Then suddenly Kia had let go again as she made her way across to the edge of the ship to see what was going on with the boxes being loaded.

There was in fact, the boys discovered, the kind of bacon that came in a cheez whiz can. There was also a freezer stocked with frozen meats, several enormous bags of pasta, and a barrel of, against all logic, limes. After staring at the stores for a while, Astor said, "I think I can boil pasta."

The other stuff, though, he had no idea what to do with. "Maybe we can find stuff out on the trail," he said to the deerkitten dryly. "Or else... I dunno, eat the meat raw."

He'd never tried it before, but he knew some people thought of it as a delicacy and in that case maybe it would be worth a taste. Who knew. "I think we should go elect a cook who can actually cook," he added, after giving it quite a bit of consideration. Yes, that seemed like a good idea.

Taka couldn't help but notice a slight blush rising in his cheeks as Kia grabbed his hand. He quickly shook it off and let himself be tagged along. As usual, he was sure it meant nothing. And why should it affect him anyways? With a swift nod, he decided it shouldn't.

"Well.. I guess your proclamation counts as captain..?" He rolled his eyes. It didn't matter to him much, he had no desire to be captain, anyways. Not like he even knew what his job really MEANT..

"We have the ALL-AROUND SMART PERSON," he stated with emphasis, as if it was supposed to be something to be proud of. He wasn't completely sure why- maybe to impress Kia..

ERR. NO. Definitely not! Just because it's an important.. thing!

He thought silently to himself, not even sure himself if it was true or he was trying to convince himself.

"The cook.. Miss Mood Perker," he paused to snicker quietly before continuing. "Our self-proclaimed captains.. we still need a map person! To.. hold our map.. and.. stuff."

Despite the years she had lived in Gaia, Caoimhe was still exceptionally behind on the technology front. She had seen iPods, but she didn't understand them. The one computer in her seaside home was used by her non-human feline guardian more than her -- and she was the one with thumbs. All of her attempts to bond with any technology other than the television had resulted in much button-mashing and general frustration. She had tried her hand at video games once, mostly battle-type strategy games, but would invariably end up throwing the controller at the screen and shouting, "******** THIS. Let's actually battle!" before tackling whoever it was that was kicking her a** at the game.

So when Taka said he was a "rock star" it had little effect on the formerly-of-a-jungle-plant Lost Child than he might of expected. As he walked away, Caoi muttered, "More like rock head, yuk yuk yuk." It was as close to clever as she got.

With Dusty hopping to attention and everyone else following suit, Caoimhe took it upon herself to prowl the contents of their vessel looking for signs of danger. When that got boring, she followed after Dustin and Astor to the kitchen where there was bound to be something worth her attention. Jogging to catch up with the two boys, Caoi draped a casual arm around both their shoulders (even if it took a little lot of reaching) and said, "So, uh, either of you know what the point of today is?"

Taka was there, but she didn't seem to be talking to him. Caoi almost always picked one person in a group to blindly antagonize. It was not one of her more charming qualities. She noted the familiarity of Kia and gave the girl a nod of greeting. She had been at Caoi's birthday party, had been one of the first people to swim with her, which the selkie appreciated -- even if the rest of the night didn't go so smoothly...
