I've seen all of them up to episode 162. (Meaning I've already seen 162, and I REALLY want to watch 163. Because one of my favorite characters (highlight) Rukia might die.) Highlight for details-
After splitting up with the others, she met Arrancar #9, he beckoned her indoors saying he doesn't like sunlight. After inside he revealed himself to be Kaien, saying that the fake sky is a survailence system of Aizen's.
Heres a description of Kaien: When first joining the squads, he was Rukia's vice-captain. They were very close, even occasionally teased of being boyfriend and girlfriend. One day through a series of unfortunate events; Rukia, the Captain, and Kaien were in the forest faced with a large hollow. The captain said to run, and she did. Then she turned back, but she was too late, Kaien was taken over. She blamed herself for this, with the running away. There was no way to save him, so she ended up having to kill him. He said thank you then died.
She wouldn't beleive it at first, but he looked, smelled, feeled, fought, sounded, acted, etc. just like Kaien. He said he needed her for a plan and said to follow, at which point he tried to slash her with his sword. Kaien explained since she killed him, he was goanna kill her. Rukia agreed to that, but said she had to save Orihime first. Kaien replied he was joking, then said she could go if she brought the heads of her friends.
At this point Rukia said he wasn't Kaien, that he wouldn't say things like that. Kaien answered he was, that she'd understand later. They fought, Rukia was loosing. Then she remembered the sunlight, and caught him then destroyed some wall to pour sunlight down onto him. His face melted away revealing a liquid filled jar with two tiny skulls in it.
She made a speech involving now that I know your not Kaien, I can stop holding back. Then he returned to the shadows and the face grew back. Kaien explained that he was a hollow who ate dead hollows and gained their abilites. When he ate that hollow, he got Kaien too. He had gained all his memories and such, and his body. Then he released his sword, and a massive tentacle-like thing replaced his legs. Kaien said he could use all of the devoured hollows at once, and this was over 30,000.
Rukia didn't care about that however. All this time she had thought she saved him, but this was what happened. She lost her will to fight, and then they clashed her sword was broken by his trident, and she was peirced through her torso.
At this point she had a series of flashbacks of him, well more than that because the current her was sort of in the old her, one of them was this: They were alone in the forest on a perfect day, and he said not to die alone. Kaien said that when you die you become the spirit particles that builds the soul society. But if you have friends, your heart will live on in them. So don't die alone.
Then she went back to now and grabbed the trident. He was suprised at her conciousness/being aliveness, then laughed and said it didn't matter because she couldn't do anything with a broken sword.
(Extra info: Rukia has two techniques, 1st dance and 2nd dance, which are two snow/ice based offensive techniques that she had practiced with Kaien.)
She said that you have his body, but I have his heart. Then: third dance: -insert name here-, and the sword grew back. She stabbed it through the head, straight through one of the skulls, and it exploded.
She thought of all her friends, then Orihime. She said/though "I know the lonliness of inprisonment, and I know the feeling of being saved by your friends." Then she tried to pull herself up, saying "I'm coming Orihime" before collapsing. After all, she has multiple wound, plus a huge trident had stabbed her through the stomach (the blades are still in her by the way).
(This ends in 161.) So then I really wanted to see 162 to see if she lived. When I finally found it, it didn't say! Now I have to find 163.
Sad, no? She is always in dramatic fights.
So is Renji.
Well, theres another reason for them to be together.
