KayaLing After watching the One Piece live action, it actually spurred me on to finally start (re)watching the One Piece anime. I had to restart the anime since I couldn’t remember where I had left off when I was younger. sweatdrop Anyways, I’m currently on episode 265. On my day offs, I can watch up to about 30 episodes or so.
As for other anime that I’ve been watching, I keep track on what episode that I’m on, what anime I want to watch later (not everything is listed though), and what anime I’ve watched already (not everything from when I was younger is listed though) in a Word Google Doc.
Out of everything listed, I’ve been caught up on Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War after finally finishing watching Bleach. Naruto Shippuden is also another series that I’m trying to finish over the past year or so, but my watching status of it is on hiatus until I resubscribe to Crunchyroll. ONE PIECE UPDATE!!! I finally caught up with One Piece by March 23, 2024! I forgot to mention it earlier, but my brain was focus on cosplay and con prep afterwards. XD That said, I haven’t seen the weekly episodes after that March date due to the focus on cosplay stuff. However, that beats starting from first episode and binge watch 1,000+ episodes originally. Lol.
Some things to note on how I achieved that: gaia_star I work full time. I usually don’t go out to do anything on most of my day offs. Therefore, I can binge watch 20+ episodes. gaia_star I had various goals all at once on where I wanted to be in One Piece. You basically change your mindset to thinking it’s smaller than it really is. • Reach episode 1,000 in 1 year • Reach episode 500 in 6 months • Reach halfway through 13 arcs in 6 months (Different places list arc number differently yet have same amount of episodes overall. Once you’re halfway through the arcs, you’re well over the 500 episode goal.) • During watching an arc, I wanted to finish said arc within a week or two.
I do totally recommend watching the live action and anime of One Piece. Simply put, One Piece explores a lot of (sometimes, heavier) topics, which is relatable to our real life history and today’s happenings in the world (eg. genocide, war, abuse, corrupt government, entitled nobility, revolution, freedom, etc.), that a lot of anime don’t care to even touch. It’s definitely not just about being a pirate and having adventures across the seas. The series also has grown with the times, in terms of being more respectful to presenting LGBTQ+ characters. Early portrayals were with older times (eg. in earlier arcs) while newer portrayals (eg. in Wano arc) are more with the newer times.
