Salam.I was born a muslim, alhamdulillah. But,honestly i started to realize the beauty of Islam around 2008.
I dont follow Islam because my mom does. I dont follow Islam because people said it was awesome, but I follow islam because I've found the nur and the beauty of Islam that nobody can ever give it to me. It's indeed a gift from Allah.
I've read the 2nd post,he isnt a muslim. He wasnt chosen by Allah to see whats right and whats wrong. he is influenced by the surrounding whose minds are controlled and limited by the so-called medias. Only stupid people cant reach beyond the media.
But whatever it is, always remember that it's Prophet PBUH's teachings to treat them nicely. Whatever things they may say, keep smiling and hope that Allah will open their hearts the same way He Did to Umar r.a.
My mother is a Christian and my father is a Muslim. I have learned to embrace both cultures seeing as though that's how I was raised.. this started at a very young age of 5 but I didn't start learning much much more until 13. Of course my parents marriage didn't work but I'm glad I got to see the world in both ways through them.

where do you live? doesn't islam prohibited us marrying non-muslim? how could this happened?
I've been born into a muslim family. My family wasn't very strict, and didn't really pray, go to djami or anything. Lately my father's getting really religious, because we found out about the Naqshabandiyya-Nazimiyya Sufi Order. We've been going to Zhikr every single month, since we/I found out about SufiLive.
I am not Muslim but I have a deep respect and admiration for Muslims. 99% of Muslims I have met who have taught me about Islam over the years have always been respectful and kind and willing to take time out of their days just to teach me things, with only the purest intentions. Most Christians I meet are pushy loudmouths....

I learned that the men can marry women of the people of the Book, i.e. Christian and Jewish, apart from Muslim women. But Muslim women can't marry anyone other than a Muslim man.
