alot of people call me gothic, and i'm christian. does that count? at first i didn't get it, now the the name, spoken, is like freedom because even though it holds certain limitations (cuz it's a stereotype) it defines parts of me that most people don't see. i say, good friends call me gothic, and they go, why? then i get to tell them all about the freedom i have in christ; to do and be different than anything i've seen, or been taught. God teaches me things. anyone relate?

A lot of people would call gothic and I'm definantly a Christian. The people at my church don't really talk to me though, because they see me as a goth and not a Christian.

You have to realize that even though you don't think what you wear is wrong, because the clothing you were shouldn't matter, other people still have missconceptions and judgemental ways of thinking when it comes to dress. For this reason you have to make a decision, will continue to dress in a way that hurts others. If many people find the way you dress offensive, they will continue to brood about it as long as they think about you which hurts them wether they realize it or not. Their feelings are nothing you can control. You can however, change the things that make them uncomfortable. Just remember their is a proper time and place for most things, you just need to think of when it is appropriate. God doesn't what us to hurt people, He wants to love them. Think on this.

Goth is just a style and additude... but like most things it can be taken to far. I guess goth just makes people uneasy... The extreme example do make me feel kinda nervous but most don't bother me. I have a few goth friends.

Goth is not really a religion, it is just a way of life. There is a big difference between the two. You can be both goth and Christian, though it is very hard to be both at the same time. Many of friends thought that I was goth for a while because I tend to keep to myself a lot and like black in real life. There are the type of people who take goth too far and actually begin to make up gods which they then worship. This is the type of goth that can not go together with Christianity.

some people might consider me goth, because i like black, i keep to myself sometimes, i dress like it, i skate, and i listen to "goth" music (but punk rock doesn't have to be gothic). but i know that i'm Christian, and that's all that matters.

If any one cares to check it out some sites that might explain things:

Goths for Jesus

Christian Goths

These are two sites I like alot. I'm not gothic but I have do wear mostly dark clothes and listen to the "gothic" music. Some people just mistake me as one.

Yeha i know the feeling i am infact goth. not just the 'people might think so.." i realy am. but i love christ. My church understands but alot of other christians don't. I got a cross tattooed into my right arm. just so that when people call me a satanist i can pull up my sleeve and ask which way the cross is pointing.

I just tell people the goths died out in war a looooooooong time ago, and that I am not goth but my own individual being.

Unless I am an architectual structure, a warrior or anything that was in the past, then do not call me Goth, but Eve or Sarah. (:

I do the whole black thing, have the lipring, got the eyeliner going on. But my faith in God has gotten even stronger through the transformation, for I have become an example for others that the style does NOT make the person.

God only sees you as the true you. Wearing black clothes in reality doesn't affect him.

I love dark colors too, most people can mistake me for goth easy, because the gothic style of dress just strikes me as TOTALLY AWSOME! I have a unique style, and most "gothic" clothing I see is very unique. Yet I have a bit of a problem being called goth, goth was a group of people forever ago, but then it turned to mean satanic worshipers and people that think they are vampires and drink blood. Since those are against God's word, I don't like being called goth. Now goth has been generalized and most people don't even know what it really means, its just how a person looks/lives. But I continue wearing what I like, and call my 'clique' original because I act a bit more like a prep than a goth, yet I love dark colors sweatdrop . I really hope people can get over this 'how you look is how you must act' sterotyping.

I have PLENTY of goth friends if they aren't Christian they are still REALLY nice. I have a friend (goth and Christian) who brought another one of my friends (goth non-Christian) to Christ. Sometimes things are for the better. Now talking in TOTAL stereotypes, more than likely a Goth is not going to listen to a Prep as much as he would a fellow Goth. There is a place for ALL of us in the body of Christ. We were made what we are for a reason. All of the circumstances are planned. My Christian friends (some of em) are Goth because they can reach out to other Goths. (this applies to other outcast groups which i'm more emo. i guess... just an fyi)
