Yes, based off of the wonderful webcomic, by Rick Griffin himself(not the artist-surfer dude), here is the RP thread. In this RP you will Role-Play as a pet of some kind; a cute kitty, a silly puppy, a rascal of a ferret, and many more! But not just as any pet, no, a pet that can walk, talk, and think like a human can! *Gasp* The possibilities for fun are now endless! ^-^

~Story~

Alright, so here is what it is all about...other than the stated reason before.

This RP is taking place in a alternate reality from the webcomic series. It is still on Earth of course, just with different characters. Instead of the little town of Babylon Gardens, you and your parents(pets call their owners 'mom' or 'dad' FYI)will live in the small town community of Rosebury Grove; a quaint town in the mid-west.

It is the beginning of Summer in Rosebury and a beautiful summer it is going to be, indeed. What will this wonderful season bring to the inhabitants of Rosebury grove? New neighbors? Exciting adventure? The odds of it being full of fun is high! ^-^

~Da Rules!

#1. Follow the Gaia TOS. If you do not know what is on this, I suggest you look it up. It isn't hard and it won't take too long, so go and read it if you haven't already.

#2. Follow the Guild Rules. Since, obviously, you are a part of this Guild in order to post here you must also abide by the rules set forth by the Staff of Zee Pack, cause they work hard to make sure it is a fun yet safe place for animal lovers and RPers alike! ^-^

#3 You must be Semi-literate. Which means no chat-speak, or leet talk or what have you. I don't understand it and it isn't English, so no. I will understand spelling mistakes, I have them, as well as grammar issues(believe me, I have the most of anyone I know, so it's okay)as long as we are able to understand the idea you are trying to get across, you're in the clear.

#4 No Killing, No Violence(of the graphic nature, cartoony is fine just like in the comic)alright? These are pets, with the most of them having the mentality of kids, in a certain respect anyways. If this rule is violated, you WILL be warned but once about it, another violation will result in immediate termination of your presence in this RP. PM me anything you might think violates this rule before you post it, that way I can see it, correct it and you won't be in trouble. Everybody wins! lol

#5 No generalized pets or humans okay? Everybody has a distinct personality, so therefore everyone should be different, they can be similar but to a fault. Also, no direct mock-ups of characters from the webcomic, in case you read it, alright? That is just sad okay? You can create something wonderful in your own mind just as well as anybody else, so use it darn you! XD

#6 More rules can, an most likely will be added, if the case arises and presents itself to me. I hope I won't have to add more than what I have here but who knows?

#7 My word is LAW. You can argue with me on somethings if you want, as long as you are civil about it, an see if we can't come to some kind of agreement. However, if I refuse you something please learn to accept it for continuing to go against me will result in bad consequences, alright? Let's just have fun everybody! ^-^

#8 Double-posting; Since there were very few people interested in this, I will let you do this but at intervals of 2 hours, so that others may have time to catch up to the story speed. Also, I doubt anyone will stay on for 6 hours just to make 3 posts, so it's easier to regulate and all. ^_^

Okay, here is what your Character Sheet will look like; you may have more than one character and they may even live together in the same household. However, the limit is 3(not including your parents or their children)per RPer. Please keep in mind that if you choose a large family that it may get complicated to keep everything straight and in order for you to keep up with. I don't care how many humans you have, they are yours to meddle with so feel free but a good start is 2-3 the standard family; A dad, mom, and maybe even a kid if you will. You could even only have 1 human with you, just so you have less things to worry about.

Now, Ferals...hmmm, how to go about this...since they are there in the comic, I will allow you to be one but there are certain restrictions that must be applied to having so much freedom.
1. You cannot go in and out of people's homes as you will, alright? You would get caught and possibly sent to the pound but if you speak with the RPer and come to some agreement about it, feel free to make things interesting.
2. You live in the forest near the town, nowhere else, understand? Unless you can come up with a good reason for being anywhere else, no.
3. NO RABIES! Or any lethal disease of any kind, end of discussion.

Hellen is somewhat of a dtiz, even to a pets standard of it but she is kind and caring of her pets, though is stereotypical to them in a naive sense, but she has her moments of intellect. She bought Romeo and Juliet when they were just kittens, though didn't think that they were from the same litter, thus naming brother and sister of famous lovers. But, the names stuck for too long to change them now, though she still thinks it's cute. Father: John Maverick
John is a kind but stern, as well as being very smart, being one of the best lawyer's in town to boot. John and Hellen would seem the exact opposite a couple should be but he doesn't let this preconceived idea get the better of him. They were high-school sweethearts, him being the only possible way she graduated from there, and have never parted since. Once he became a lawyer after many years of hard work, he thought that leaving his love alone would be too much for her, rather 'simple' needs and agreed to let her buy a couple of pets. Though he should have went with her when she decided to get them names on the same day, seeing the mistake she made but it was too late to talk her out of it by then.
Sister: Juliet: Cat, sister.
Eye color: Green
Fur pattern: Romeo Maverick
Fur color: Refer to Fur Pattern.
Clothes: A black collar with a Pink Rose dangling from it. Also, usually wears a silver scarf with the a big and bold letter 'R' on it, for obvious reasons.
Personality: Romeo is a different kind of cat, not being entirely consistent in his persona depending on the situation. Though he is mainly kind, caring, loves the outdoors and outdoor activities to boot. Though he is also a rather intelligent cat liking the finer things in life just as well. He is playful at times, mischievous even, to some other pets though never to a point of being obnoxious or annoying. He doesn't like the fact that a lot of other pets mock him and his sister's odd naming due to their silly mother but doesn't let it get the better of him...most of the time. Even though his name is that of a famous and heroic lover, he is actually rather shy when around girl cats or girls in general, causing him to become the very thing he dislikes most; being naive and dim-whited. Thus, he doesn't hang around many girls other than his sister Juliet, who is even more unlike her name than he is to his.
History: Their mother died sadly to an illness at a young age for their litter, at about 6 weeks old, too young to be on their own just yet. Thankfully, the pet store owners that owned them were very good people and helped care for them more than most people would. This let them grow up to be otherwise healthy cats when they were adopted at the age of 5 months. They were the last of their litter to go and thankfully, unlike their siblings, were adopted together rather than individually. It was only natural though, if you saw them at the pet store they were always together, never wanting to be separated from the other. They took some time to getting used to their new surroundings, not sure how their new parents would treat them or who they were even. Romeo liked his name he was given at the time, though soon began to realize why the other pets laughed at him and his sister once they learned how to read. Their closeness only aggravated this but they didn't let it affect their relationship, even though they began to drift and do activities by themselves. Romeo soon began to get a liking for music, the piano in particular seeing as how their father inherited it from a deceased uncle. He was then able to convince his father to hire a teacher for him to learn from, it was an odd request ye but he was determined to learn and after 3 years of teaching he was his teachers best student. He and his sister became quite the popular couple, seeing as how skilled he was in piano and she in singing, they performed little concerts for the town here and there. They never let their fame come over them though, still doing whatever they wanted and even getting into trouble on occasion. His sister being the culprit, more often than him.
Love Interest: No one...yet.
Specialty: He can play the piano perfectly, eyes closed even as long as he has played the piece once before. He merely needs to hear or read the music sheets for a piece and he can play it without a hitch. He is also a good prankster.
Other: Is, oddly enough, scared of fish. Thus he doesn't eat fish either, or go fishing. Tries to keep this a secret though, only his sister knows of his odd and unreasonable phobia.

Personality: Juliet is definitely no femme fatale; in the sense of using her feminine charms on others at least. She is very rambunctious, active, aggressive, fun-loving, and a real go-getter. She is one of the most tomboyish female cat in the whole town, bar none. Her hat being a symbol of her outspokenness of not being afraid of trying anything new and not one for much patience either. Though, she isn't all knit and grit; she can be sensitive, kind, and caring though she is very subtle about how she goes about being that way, unless it is towards her brother; their close bond is still there even though they aren't together all the time anymore. She would do anything for him, as he would like-wise. All in all, Juliet is the least fitting name for such a...unique female cat, to say the least.

Once she realized the reason behind the other pets mocking them, she grew a grave distaste for anyone who made comments or remarks about it, getting flushed while doing so. This only allowed her fiery nature to blossom into a very protective yet violet means to an end of getting even. She gets into fights a lot and she wins most of them too even if they do fight back. She wasn't very fond of singing at first, mainly it being the classical stuff her brother listened to sometimes, but once she discovered pop and rock she wouldn't ever stop. She was a natural, having a lovely voice to begin with and all, though she soon was able to convince her mother into getting her singing lessons and within a year or so she could sing ANYTHING beautifully. When Romeo finally mastered the piano, of course they would perform together, letting their love of music not be interfered by the others mocking them or saying how 'fitting' that they do so well together or any other rubbish thrown at them. Once they became the talk of the town, she began to like showing off her singing abilities singing nearly every moment of her life, what she sang of course depended on her mood. Recently, her and Romeo are going to put on another performance for the town at the Untouched Meadow park. She is quite excited about it and can't wait for it to happen.
Love Interest: No one...yet
Specialty: Juliet is a marvelous singer. She can sing any kind of song; rap, pop, classic, rock, you name it through she prefers pop and rock. She doesn't mind showing off her talent, she is also a pretty good dancer.
Other: Has a secret obsession of romance novels. Only her brother knows this, as if anyone else did it would ruin the image she tries so hard to make of herself.

Here is where I shall list everything that is and will be going on in Roseberry Grove, as well as a simple explanation of how time will pass in the story. Any suggestions or opinions are welcome and must be sent via PM under the title of 'Memorable Happenings' so I know what it is for.

As for time passing, I am going to make it be 72 hours = 1 day in Housepets! because I know some people can't get on every day, so this will allow you to at least post once or catch up before the day is done. This may extend or shorten depending on the frequency of posting and/or complaints/suggestions.

If something says 'Special' in it, it means you have to incorporate that day's theme in your posting. Not in every one of course but it must be the main focus of your pet's day. Ferals can choose whether or not to participate in the 'humans' silly festivities at their discretion.

Romeo & Juliet's Concert: It's not just them flaugnting their skills in front of the whole town be the center of attention...all the time. There is a sign-up sheet on a pagoda in the center of the park for any and all pet's and ferals alike to join in on the fun. Merely put your name(s) and what you will perform. Anything ranging from Stand-up, Dance, Music are all accepted though bear in mind at 8:00 PM Romeo and Juliet will have the spotlight for the rest of the night, so the spots and time are short so, first come first serve!

NOTE: Other Seasons will be added once we get close enough to them.

WE ARE NOW OPEN!!!

Sorry for the terribly long delay but things came up and I kind of got dispirited at the project at first but now, with renewed vigor and motivation it is done! Let the RP begin! As soon as some people enter their Characters, that is. sweatdrop

A loud yawn could be heard from atop the Maverick residence and a quick look at the roof would lead to the culprit; Romeo waking up from a wonderful cat-nap. He stretched his forepaws and straightened out his tail to loosen up from all that sitting. "Ahh, that was great! I feel so full of energy now!" He said as he then leaped over to the tree next to his home which is how he got up there in the first place.

As he climbed down and gracefully landed on the ground he looked over the town he called his own and breathed in a deep breath of fresh air. "This summer is going to be the best yet, I can feel it!"

A soft and gentle hum could be heard from on top of a fence line over near the alley next to the old abandoned flower shop several blocks from the Maverick residence. It belonged to none other than Juliet; donning her cream-white felt fedora hat slightly tipped to the side. "I can't wait to tell Romeo! He'll be so surprised!" She said with a cute giggle as she jumped off the fence onto the soft grass, she had just got back from putting the sign-up sheet on the pagoda in the park where they are going to hold their concert. Though there was just one thing; Romeo had no idea that it was going to happen!

"I can just picture his face right now! An if he isn't happy about it, I'm just going to have to give him the 'treatment' until he agrees!" She said with a evil grin as she then cracked her front paws in anticipation, Romeo never does like the 'treatment'.

Romeo was playing a piece from one of his favorite video games; Kingdom Hearts. He loved learning songs from games he's played before, cause they are more classical yet still modern in a sense.'How come Juliet can't see how good soft and slow music is? We could make such beautiful pieces if she just calmed down a little...' He thought as he flipped the pages to get to the next score and just as he was getting started on it, he heard Juliet call his name. "Speak of the devil.." He said under his breath, with a smirk.

"Romeo! Quit playing and get over here, I got something to tell you!" Juliet said as she plopped down on their comfy white linen couch. She was sitting cross-legged with her tail swishing back and forth rapidly with excitement. She couldn't wait to tell her brother the news, that and she wouldn't be able to give him the 'treatment' if mom or dad were home and they both were at work or the store, so now was the perfect time to do so.

Romeo casually made his way into the living room from the study, where the piano was, and sat down next to his sister on the bed. "Alright, what is it now? Not more trouble I hope." He said shaking his head the last time she was this excited, it was never anything good.

She gently pushed him at his remark about getting into trouble, though she had a wonderful knack for it. "Not today, silly! We're holding a concert at the Forgotten Meadows Park later this month! Isn't that great news!" She said more as a fact than an opinion, cause she was excited for it and was expecting someone else to be too. She was bouncing up and down now, waiting for an equally cheerful comment about her awesome idea.

"We're having a WHAT?!?! We just did one like, 2 weeks ago at the community center!" He stated with a face of shock; he just wanted to wind down a little and relax. It's not that he wasn't up for another one but not so soon. That and she didn't even ask him about it! "Juliet, don't you think that we should just wait a little while before we have another one? I mean it's fun and all but it may have the other pets think we're getting conceited, you know?" He said as he crossed his arms and looked at his sisters face with a serious look, which in time he would come to regret as he saw her pounce towards him.
