Unique, he said. There was nothing unique in this sob story of a world. Everyone was bound by fear, by instinct, by a feral wish to live. As if names had an affect on what, ultimately, took place in their lives. "Names are pointless. Just a calling card." According to Riordan, all that mattered was living. Feeling. Whatever you could find that wasn't nothingness.

She didn't know how to feel. Perhaps the one thing she didn't tell Riordan, though she guessed he could tell.

At his yawn, she started. Duh. Time to get him to a guest room. So troublesome. And they were all the way across the complex. God, she hated being responsible for this kind of thing. It wasn't nearly as simple, as second nature, as protection, as self-defense, as assassination. So much more thought was required. Her normal job was instinctive, easy. With this, she had to give a damn about others. Others than her family, anyway. Ah, hell. He could just use her bed for all she cared. It wasn't worth the effort of getting him to the other side of the labyrinth. She might as well just wait for him to go to sleep. Striding to the bed, she pulled back the covers and gestured for him to go ahead and lie down. As for her...well, until the others were back, she wouldn't relax. Stepping to the wall, she rested her head back against it, closing her eyes. Listening would serve her best now. Hunting mode; her fangs slipped out, all her senses heightened. The tiny currents of air against her skin, the sound of the walls slowly shifting, moving to the rhythm of the millennium, tasting the blood that still resting on her tongue the smell of that same blood lingering in the air, the slight shadows visible through her eyelids, marking the position of items around her. It was time to wait.

And with the faintest noise, her waiting was over. Flinging a shout over her shoulder, she fled the room. "Stay!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Riordan entered his domain, bleeding and feral. There was blood here, somewhere. He could smell it. And...Doro was here. Her feed. The territory was marked. Where else...? He was so thirsty, it burned him, shriveled his mouth, his throat. No choice, none. Kill tonight, no survivor this time. Damn, he hated it when it happened that way. So pointless, not to mention it added to a bad reputation. As he shot down the shaft, he cursed his stupidity. Even he couldn't dodge a bullet at point blank range. Only Doro, and she wouldn't bother to get all the way out of the way, just stop it with her shoulder in case one of them was behind her. All his blood, gone, drained, living on cells that hungered for oxygen, dying. Thank god it had been just shy of his heart. Not an assassin, just a person who heard rumors and tried to survive best they could. As he landed at the bottom with a soft tmp, thought chased itself away and his cells strove toward the blood he smelled, so fresh, so alluring. On a basal level, it registered- human- but the person, Riordan, was long absent. All that mattered was blood, and within the next thirty seconds. Otherwise, he would be dead. Homing in on the scent, he barreled toward it, faster than would be thought possible, even for a vampire. Colliding with warm flesh at the doorway of Doro's room, the allure of a beating heart took over and even the scent of human was drowned out at this more immediate source of life. His fangs buried into a neck that stretched in acceptance, shrouded in cyan hair.
As thought returned, he realized that it was Doro. The second thing he noticed was the pressure against his wound, as she pressed it even while wrapping it in bandages and had her own blood sucked out of her. After a short moment marveling at her collected nature, he sent a thought through their blood-bond. "You have enough blood?" Her response: "Of course. There are bloodbags in the main fridge." It went unsaid that she would be sick to her stomach for a day or two after. It had been Doro's choice, knowing full well the consequences. She would be able to operate near-normally though. It would be fine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As Doro was knocked back into her room by Riordan, she realized he was running on the remainder of oxygen in his cells, no blood left. Arching her neck to welcome his bite she knew would come, she simultaneously snatched the bandages to her left, feeling euphoria as his fangs released toxins into her bloodstream. No wonder people became addicted to this, she mused as she began stripping his shirt and bandaging his open wound. As his thought returned, she felt his query brush her unshielded mind. "You have enough blood?" She had just fed, they would both be fine. "Of course. There are bloodbags in the main fridge." She didn't look forward to the sickness after, but compared to his life, it was fine. And they didn't have a second victim, so Ri's values dictated the life of Damian. Donor blood for her.

After a minute, Riordan drew back, leaving her dizzy at the loss of blood. Tucking his bindings into place, she squirmed out from under him and leaned against the doorframe, clumsily stepping to her feet, using the frame for support. Time to grab some blood, and let Riordan take hold of his situation while she helped herself out. It was a good thing that, of the four of them, she had to take the most blood, allowing her the chance for doing something just as she had done. As her balance and homeostasis returned after Riordan's fast-paced feed, she slipped towards the main kitchen, grabbing a couple liters of blood. Best to drink them here, grab some chocolate, bind her own wound, then return. She trusted Riordan to come get her if he wanted her sooner. Sinking her fangs into the first bag of blood, she shuddered at the sensation of stale blood flowing into her mouth, but dutifully kept drinking.

The light of the blue moon . . . .

Damian had flopped down on the bed and nearly passed out but the commotion had him jolted awake. He just seemed to stare at the pair til Doro left. His eyes flickered to the floor, not wanting to look up at the other. Man, tonight really wasn't his night, was it? Well, atleast he was alive and well, not some sort of mutated freak with like three arms or anything.

llOOC: Sorry it's a crappy post compared to your post of awesomeness. X3ll

||OoC:: No need for a sorry, you were fully deserving of a post of awesomeness on my behalf, as I have been sorrowfully inactive. Well, now I get to develop Ri-chan's character!! ^^ Ooh, goody. 4laugh ||

Noticing the figure on the bed, Riordan returned the earlier stare with on of his own. "So you're who Doro chose tonight?" Well, it was a rhetorical question, when you got down to it, but shock was kicking in, his own aftereffect of nearly dying from oxygen deprivation, and he couldn't do much better than that. He almost got around to thinking that it hadn't been a very polite or tactful thing to say, but began shivering uncontrollably, so quickly that his image blurred. Well, that was unexpected, but he supposed he should have been prepared for anything. Although he had been expecting something more like the sickness Doro was going to endure. It stopped, though. The shivering.

Which gave him time to think about things. Like Doro. And the stuff he had picked up while sucking her blood. Such as the fact that she had had a couple of emotions while thirsty. That was unusual. He hadn't known that. He always thought she was incapable of emotion other than the devotion she showed to him, Ana and Rei. He'd better make sure Doro was doing okay, but not until this one was asleep. Then again, maybe her point was to give him some time to deal with himself. That would be just like her. God, he'd have to make sure she found something to live for other than their safety. That would wait until he could conference with Ana and Rei, though.

The light of the blue moon . . . .

Damian nodded and kept his gaze down. He didn't feel comfortable with this guy around. There was no way he was going to make it out of this place alive, was there? He chewed his lower lip, sitting himself indian style on the bed. All he wanted was to go out and find himself some supplies, but here he sat, probably never going to escape this giant maze.

llOOC: Ha ha. Thanks for the gift. ^^ll

||OoC:: No problem. And I'm off to reread my character profile, to make sure I don't mess something significant up in my post. So yeah, posting in a bit.||
