DAE LUIN - Dawning Dreams

~Met again? What are you speaking of? I saved this girl from her doom only a day ago. She was up against a Golem when I found her, and she has been in my care since. And no, we did not have a fight, I simply do not wish to reveal myself to her yet. Also, I was excited to see you again, I enjoy our time alone...~

Night lifted himself slightly, pushing against Serica's weight, as if to motion for to rest herself completely, or not at all. Then he lowered himself to the ground again.

~Though, I do enjoy it when she runs her hands through my fur. She has a soft touch. Nevermind that!~
Night shakes the thought from his mind.
Regardless, with her here though we cannot hunt together, or run together, or even howl at the moon together. She would be out of place.~

Serica smiled a little to herself taking the invitation and wrapping her arms around her shoulders giving him a soft hug but flinching right after doing so, her shoulder pulsed with pain when she used it. A moment later the pain was gone and Serica rested her full weight on the wolf beneath her, her eyes on the other, the one she had seen in her mind, Krah.

~Out of place?~ Krah laughed. ~Manpup,~ there was still a chuckle in her tone, ~I howl to the moon no matter my company and I ran and hunted with this one long before you were by my side.~ A grin crept across Krah's old maw and she tilted her head. ~You really don't remember her? This is the witchling who brought you to me.~

Serica reached her left hand toward Krah to pet her but stopped less them half of her arm's reach, feeling like the action was wrong and took back her hand. "I feel safe with you..." She said softly, her violet eyes looking longingly into Krah's deep knowing orbs. A crazy thought crossed her mind, ~am I one of you?~ and she heard a chuckling response and frowned in disappointment.

Krah's eyes moved slowly to meet Night's. ~Manpup, what were you doing so near to Golems? They will crush you as soon as any with warm blood...~ her tone was loving but worried all the same.

No more meddling. No more meddling. No more meddling? No more meddling. It was like a mantra, really, that bounced back and forth behind Versai's bleary eyes. The hay from the stables was beginning to get to him, so he went around back to the well to freshen up.

Drawing the water was a long and frustrating process. No matter how much time Versai spent doing this sort of labour, his motor abilities never seemed to improve, so he had to drag the bucket up three or four time, muttering curses under his breath, before he managed to get some water. Once he had the water in his hands, though, the feeling was golden, and he took some time to rejuvenate himself. Itchy, he discovered a new rash of fleas.

"Lay down with the dogs," he said, reciting only half of the aphorism. "I'd better get out of this damn city and find a lake to wash up in."

Dreams shaken from his head, Versai struck out on a path, away from the Tavern, away from Mooncrest. The city was having its full season, with farmers in from all the surrounding lands to hawk their harvests, and when the roads were clear enough for merchants to gather. There was no room for him here, right now. He'd return around winter, he figured.

Few people would set off on a journey sans rations, but Versai knew the land would provide. He knew a lot of things, after all. For instance, his dreams had left him with a vague direction. He was headed for the mountain, from his vision.

Night was completely taken aback. It was not like him to miss such an important detail like that. He should have known her smell, he should have known her eyes. Above all, he should have realized that her touch, which he enjoyed so much, was the same as the touch of the hand that delivered him to salvation.

~She is... that girl...~

Night let this slowly seep in. It made so much sense, all of it. All of the happenings of late were pulled together with that single piece of information. He had only thought he was traveling from one city to another, looking for adventure and excitement. He had found it many times, but his direction had always been the same, and it had lead him to her. That would have been the only reason to be near a golem. Night relayed these thoughts to Krah and awaited her response.

~I knew fate would see you two together again, I was not sure I would still walk when it did.~ This was fact to her but the following seemed more amusing, ~You think you have been following her? And you were compelled to save her, I understand. Interesting that... but why would it have taken you so long, manpup? This witchling doesn't even seem to know she has a magic in her, how has she evaded you for years?~

Serica's disappointment became sadness and she turned to bury her face in Night's lush black fur. She shook a little but held back her tears, clutching her left arm tightly to her, sheltering it.

Krah's ears surveyed Serica but her eyes remained on Night. ~Funny witchling, she seeks the comfort of a man among wolves, luckily her her, she's found one. But since you do not want her to know you as that yet...~ Krah grinned, ~come manpup, let's see what she remembers of hunting. I can sense the instincts still within her, tonight she will run with us as wolves.~ an excitement raised in Krah and she made a playful step.

Serica heard the suddenly restless movement and turned again, her eyes watching Krah carefully.

~I don't believe I was following her directly to be truthful. I think that the fates willed we be together, and simply aligned our paths to eventually converge. We may have been moving toward each other since we parted.~

Night lifted his head as he felt Serica's muscles shift, and he recognized the weight of her emotion.

~Now that I know who she is, reavealing myself is far less of an issue. I think though, that I will wait for the reunion until after playtime.~

Night shook himself and pushed against the ground with his legs, hoping Serica would understand that it was time to get up.
