"Oh, I see..."

Otika's scrunched up his eyebrows as he listened to the head nurse. Knowing that Jiro was supposed to tell him about the library did hit a nerve within him. Why would Jiro not mention something so important? Maybe the other was too focused on giving him information about Alphonse that it must have slipped his mind? Regardless, he should not jump to conclusions. He is sure Jiro has his reasons and he could always talk to his friend about it at a later time.

Right now his main concern was towards this nurse's actions. He did not care if she has been here longer than him or if this is her first day as well. Her actions as unacceptable. "While that is true, you also need probable cause and reason to administer a sedative. It is true that Mr. Hathaway's behavior last night was very violent, his behavior now is nothing of the sort. He may be yelling and angry, he has not acted out until you thought it as wise to act on the notion to sedate him. Keep in mind that such actions ma make a patient more riled and want to act before the drugs go into affect. I understand we must protect our staff, but we must also perform fair conduct and protection to our patients." He looked towards Alphonse, reaching out to make sure the blonde did not fall. "Alphonse. I know this is obvious a question, but are you alright? Do you need to sit down?"

Alphonse watched and listened to Otika as the man argued about the use of drugs on himself. It didn't seem to matter to the doctor that he could or had been violent. He demanded that the nurses had probable cause to dose him like they had. It surprised Alphonse because not even Jiro had done such things for him. If he had been around he had merely shook his head and looked on sadly. He almost laughed again at the notion of them sedating him making him more riled before the drugs kicked in. The problem with that was that they always gave him more than for what he weighed and the combination of the alcohol he normally consumed only had a quickening and harsher effect. It was the quickest way to incapacitate him and he hated the nurses, especially the head nurse for it. Speaking of the quicker acting drug he was beginning to feel more of its effects when Otika reached out to him asked if he was alright. Alphonse blinked at Otika almost confused by the questions, again no one cared about his true well being in this place. They only moved him to his room after he had passed out and normally he found a hiding spot to wait the drug out before then. "I'm fine." Alphonse stated before trying to move away only to stumble as the room seemed to tilt with his movement.

Otika gave a small tilt of his head at the look Alphonse was giving him. He could not tell if it was the effect of the drugs or if the teen was truly confused by his question. He found that strange, however his main focus was on the teen's well being. Alphonse stated he as fine, but watching the blonde stumble about told the redhead otherwise. "I will have to call you out on your bluff, Alphonse. I understand you do not like me, but please, at least let me help you to your room so you may rest. In your current condition, you will not make it."

Alphonse had managed to stumble towards the hall a few steps when Otika spoke. Alphonso stopped when the man requested to help him to his room and Alphonso was ready to accept as his head was throbbing now. The moment the man continued on to say that he would not make it to his room without help had Alphonso growling in irritation. "Don't underestimate what I can do." he snapped placing a hand against the wall to balance himself and continued to walk.

'Oh dear... Did I say something to anger him again?' Otika thought with a frown. It seems it was not his day to catch a break with the blonde. Alphonse could barely walk, but it looked like the teen was determined make it on his own because he thought Otika was underestimating him. That was hardly the case... All he wanted to do was help his patient. When Alphonse began to walk away, the redhead turned to the nurses and gave them a small bow in farewell. They had an argument, yes, but that did not mean the doctor would be rude and not say goodbye. He then started to walk towards his patient to be of assistance.

"I apologized if I offended you again. That was not my intention." He stated as he walked next to the male, making sure Alphonse did not fall "I just want to help you, Alphonse."

Alphonse felt dizzy as he walked down the hall. He had definitely been given more of the sedative then normally, or perhaps he had lost more weight and didn't know it. He hadn't let himself be given a physical in a while but it didn't matter he would make it to his room. The footsteps behind Alphonse surprised him because he realized how close they had gotten behind him. Looking over his shoulder he was however not surprised to see Otika. "Why do you care what I think?" Alphonse questioned as he kept walking knowing if he stopped he wouldn't start again. "No, what you want is to do your job. You care about results and not the person. Or sure you care about the person for as long as they are under your care but the moment their not you people just don't care anymore." Alphonse growled.

(I am sorry for taking so long to reply. I had double shifts at my job last week and I have been fighting with my mother for the last few days causing me to be in a meh mood. Sorry I couldn't keep you updated, I thought I could handle it, but it was not in the stars. :/ )

Why did he....care? Why would the blonde ask him such a question? "It is because I believe your opinion and well-being matters just like any other person. No matter what you have done thus far." While it is true that Alphonse has caused him trouble: running away from the hospital and influenced other patients to vandalize the hospital. Otika also knows that he has wrecked havoc long before the redhead has been in this hospital. However, it did not mean he was less than a person. He still has a mind of his own and deserved to be treated like a human being.

He listened to Alphonse and couldn't help feel shocked at the accusation that he was solely showing concern because it was his job. "That is not true. While, I do love my job and always hope for positive results... That does not mean I don't worry about my patients. Whether they be former or current, I will always be their doctor and be there for them if they ever need my guidance." He said, willing to anyone who needs assistance.

He stayed close, watching the other in concern and prepared himself to catch Alphonse if the teen fell or need any assistance. "What that nurse did was unacceptable and I will talk to Jiro about her behavior. I know my words may not appease the anger you feel for her right now, but I would still like to apologize for her behavior. And I am sorry I could not do anything to stop her. Had I been more attentive, this wouldn't have happen."

Alphonse gave a snort of disbelief when Otika said that he cared because Alphonse's opinion and well-being mattered. "If my opinion mattered I wouldn't be here among many other things but strangely my opinion doesn't matter in those cases." Alphonse quipped at the doctor as he continued to move. He couldn't stop, he knew he couldn't even though he felt exhausted and the pull of the drug too make him sleep. At Otika's protest about loving his job and his patients Alphonse laughed. "Have you ever kept in communication with any of your previous patients for a long period of time after they were done being your patients?" he asked snidely. He doubted with his whole being that the doctor had, no one did once someone didn't need care any longer. He had gone through that, come to like the doctor but once he had been 'treated' the doctor had been done with him, even when he had come back with the same issue.

Alphonse kept walking growing closer to his room with each step but each step felt so far to the boy. He was inwardly cursing the nurse when Otika spoke again. This time about the nurse Alphonse had been cursing in his head. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, you'll make all the nurses made and then they won't help you when you need it. Your better off just dealing with my irritation then theirs. Besides its not the first time they've done it and it certainly won't be the last, not your fault for it." Alphonse stated his voice holding no anger or irritation. He was merely stating it as a fact before he stumbled again.

Otika stayed silent when Alphonse expressed that his opinion did not matter. He has faced cases where the patient believed there was nothing wrong with them and they didn’t need to be in a hospital. Could Alphonse be one of those cases? It seemed there was more to it, especially when he subtly mentioned there were more situations when his opinion was not accounted for. Otika would have to look into that when the blonde was not drugged and about to pass out from its effects. His eyes made contact with Alphonse’s face when the teen asked if he kept in contact with his previous patients. This made him smile proudly as he nodded. “Yes, I do. When you are better, I could tell you about them if you like.” He explained; Otika treated a patient and when they were healthy, he always asked them to visit or keep in touch. It didn’t matter if they needed more help for a previous condition or they were of prime health. He did not mind knowing how they have fared since leaving his care. He knew most doctors did not do this… But then again, Otika was not like most doctors.

The red-haired male blinked when Alphonse told him not to worry about the nurses’ behavior and instead deal with the blonde’s irritation. There was no irritation or anger in the other’s voice. It almost felt like the teen was stating an educational fact to him. Was this… a round-a-bout way of Alphonse trying to protect him? It was very strange to think of the teen doing such a thing, but he couldn’t help but feel grateful. “I will do as you say then. But if it happens again I cannot guarantee I can keep myself silent.” When Alphonse stumbled, Otika was quick to catch him. He held onto his shoulder carefully, afraid that if he let go the teen would fall. “Are you alright?”

Alphonse blinked in surprise when Otika proclaimed that he did indeed keep in contect with his patients even after they no longer needed his care. He would have called the doctor a liar but the man seemed sop prepared to tell him about those he kept in contact with that Alphonse believed him "Your the first I've met that has then." he conceded. This doctor was continuing to surprise him and Alphonse almost didn't know what to do about the man because of it. He was so used to other doctors and how they handled things, not even taking his words into accommodation, sticking up for him or even remaining in contact when they no longer needed. Maybe this doctor before him was different and in a way that made Alphonse a bit nervous. He liked to be in control of all situations and this man was changing all the rules which made it harder to be in control.

When the man continued to break the rules by saying that he would take his advice about the nurses but he would not guarantee his silence if the same situation happened again Alphonse almost gave a grateful smile.He would have too if not for his stumbling. The world seemed to tilt before him and he was tensing in preparation to hit the floor. When he didn't and there was a pressure at his shoulder stopping the world from tilting suddenly. The sudden stop of motion seemed to drive everything over the edge, the dizziness most of all. "I think i'm gonna be sick." he ground out a hand pressed to his stomach.

Otika had to think fast! Alphonse stated he was feeling sick, which meant only one thing... And it was not good. Looking around the hallway, Otika noticed a bathroom sign a couple doors down. "Try to hold it in. There is a bathroom over there. I'll help you walk, so hang on." He reassured, starting to lead Alphonse to the bathroom. The redhead walked briskly, but tried not to go too fast in case Alphonse felt any worse from the motion. When they reached the bathroom, he immediately took the other to the closest stall and held Alphonse steady so he may let out the contents in his stomach if he hadn't done so already.

Alphonse was surprised at how quickly Otika seemed to think of a plan when the blond had said that he felt sick. When the man said they were moving to the bathroom and that he would help him walk Alphonse didn't protest. He didn't think he could without losing the contents of his stomach even though walking seemed to make the world tilt back and forth. Hot tears gathered in his eyes, he hated the feeling that the sedative gave him when they gave him too much. Something they had done practically since he had arrived at the facility.

When they finally made it to the bathroom and into a stall Alphonse couldn't hold his stomach anymore and expelled its meager contents of the tea and croissant he had eaten that morning when Otika had brought it to him. The hot tears which had gathered then fled from his eyes at the embarrassment and shame he felt from it. He didn't sob however just let the tears fall hoping that the doctor who was holding him wouldn't notice or if he did, wouldn't make a scene of it. "I hate them..." Alphonse grumbled when it seemed he had finished.
