Size zero? Damn straight. I desire nothing but the best, and pity those who can't keep up. I think anorexic/bulimic people are intriguing, and I'd love to draw one someday. Their skeletal structure would be amazing.

Because "the best" is apparently dying of lack of all nutrients your body needs, apparently? Don't pity the non-brainwashed humans. Some may not even be as fit, but their mental state is certainly much better.

I'm skinny, but that's just because I have low metabolism. Humans are not meant to be stick figures. Thus the reason that being so would lead to death?

And Fell-From-The-Stars, I have a friend who is that of "media standards", and she is about 115. Trust me, 100 is more then fine. 86 is much too skinny if you ask me.

Please excuse me as I rant.
Are you insane? Have you ever seen the pain parents/friends/siblings go though when someone is anorexic/belimic! That kind of s**t rips families appart, and this kind of adatude is what keeps people feeling that need to do it! Not only that but it makes othes feel so insacure you get a bunch of other problems. Your kind of attaude is what distorys peoples self esteem and selfworth. What is wrong with you?
I speak from personal experance about all of this, I have anorexic friends and there self esteem is so low, because people say its the way they should be. It makes me feel like I'm horrible because I'm a tiney bit over weight.
Devlope some respect for people who acturaly like to eat food and who don't like looking like a stick.

Rant over.

Low metabolism=gain lots of weight easier.
High metabolism=lose lots of weight easier.
Just clarifying

Why does everyone call it "anorexia" when referring to the eating disorder?
It's anorexia nervosa.
Anorexia by itself merely means "lack of appetite".
-_-

Anyway, I do not approve of people trying so hard to conform to a body image to the point that they harm their bodies.
But I also do not approve of those who are morbidly obese and claim that they are happy with themselves.
IT'S JUST AS UNHEALTHY!

Metabolism issues can be battled with good hydration [water speeds the metabolism] and spicy foods - also speeds the metabolism. AND EXERCISE!

I just turned the conversation around, but whatever.

For the record my measurements are 35-26-35. I'm 5'4'' - lucky me, I'm short AND have an hourglass figure. And I weigh 132.

Anything under a size 6 is scary-even if they look healthy; anything over a 16 is scary; anything unhealthy-looking is also scary! But that's not my problem.

My problem is I'm an 18 (and that's after shrinking from a 26- yay me!) working to be a 14-16 area ideally. My genetics partially dictate I will never be that skinny, so I'm not even going to attempt the impossible! The other part is combining a really low metabolism and bouncing for years from anorexia nervosa to bulimia nervosa and back again. The result is that my body turned cannabalistic- and I gained extreme amounts of weight that is very difficult for me to lose. I digress. Either extreme is unhealthy, but that's just me.

Surprisingly, for a girl who's 5'3, I don't look like I'm that bad but trust me-I am. Wisely for me, I don't measure my weight- that would be too depressing crying

Women who are size 00 are very scary. They look like your could break them in half- and sometimes they look really intense. Personally, I don't find rib cages very sexy.
Size 3+ would be more reasonable.

Hugging small people makes me nervous; I'm afraid that I'll crush or hurt them if I'm not extremely careful.

Laughing is good for the soul...

i am still young so i wear i size 0 now but it is just scary what girls do today. its not only pressure from models. it is also pressure from classmates as many of mine actually look underweight and its scary.
...so give your soul a break and laugh!

I'm a UK size 18. I go to the gym and have vastly reduced the amount I eat over the past couple of years (used to live with boyfriend, both working very long hours, both very depressed - gained 3 stone).

I would prefer to be slightly slimmer than I am (a UK size 14 would be perfect) but due to PCOS and me abhorring all forms of exercise, it's difficult!

I am in Europe and my size is 38 by the system we use here - If the table I'm looking at is correct that's size 8 in the US. And I have a nice slim figure, so I can imagine that 0 must be a walking skeleton o_O

I would better have a strong and athletic body than skin and bones; I don't understand the appeal of it. Extremely thin strikes me as weak and unhealthy. And I believe that in life in this world we need to be strong, both psychically and physically. Besides, extremely low weight and malnutrition have very nasty effects.
See this video if you want to know! - I think that some of these effects are not even generally known! But if they were, it would possibly discourage girls from experimenting with not eating. She describes there her experience and the disgusting effects.
