Could I get some honest opinions about this?

I have my washing, vaccuming, ironing, dusting and chilling songs.

Ah, I see. I only have mowing music...aside from that I might randomly flip through songs when I'm not doing anything.

I do that too, and sorry I wasn't ignoring you, s**t just got crazy for a bit.

No worries. Is everything alright?

It is now. My mom got really sick (again) and stopped breathing (again) so she scared us, and now the girls are sick with a cold (maybe) and my boyfriend has the flu. So between those four I have been running around the last few weeks.

Yikes! That's a lot of sick people and quite the scare... I hope they get well soon.

Our hospital may have better care then a bigger city but it is still just as dirty thanks to cut backs.

The girls should be fine in a few days provided they don't catch the flu from my bf, he is down and out for the count at the moment, he of all people had to get the nasty bug, going around, so the girls aren't allowed to be around him until they got their flu shots.

Mom is doing better, turns out she had yet another lung infection and didn't see her specialist when she should of and thankfully I am not the only one pissed at her for that. Her doctor is livid. So she will be in the hospital for thanksgiving (Canada's is the second Monday of the month) so I will spend it with my girls, face timing with my boyfriend and singing happy birthday to my 17 year old cat. Who's birthday falls on thanksgiving this year.

Ah, I see.

Well, flu shots in themselves are still potentially risky, but I see why that'd be the safer choice.

Wow. That's gotta suck, though if nothing else it'd serve to teach a lesson.

Actually, Canadian flu shots are safer then American flu shots because ours goes through more checks. Canadian and American CDCs and FDAs are vastly different, that is why Americans have so many issues with Yaz and Yazmin where Canada just pulled it the moment problems arised.

Yeah it sucks but it serves as a reminder she needs to stop smoking and actually take care of her body. And yes I got Rosee for Christmas in 1996, she was a present from Santa (and yes at 24 I still believe because of Rosee) so yup she is old but still has fire, the day she stops causing truoble I will worry.

It's still pretty much just giving them a lesser dose of the flu isn't it?
Hm...didn't know about that...I'll have to remember this next time I plot to conquer Canada..

It's a reminder..now just gotta hope they listen to it.
Oh wow! (I wasn't going to question it. I'm 21 and still believe in one way or another)

Nope, ours are made with egg or wheat base. No heavy metals involved. That is where the "issue" people have with vaccines comes from, the fact some of them still contain mercury or other heavy metals. That is also where the risk comes in but in truth with most vaccines in the modern world today, you have a better chance of getting heavy metal poisoning from a can of tuna. And the most riskiest thing you do is step outta bed.

Now I understand a lot of people are anti vaccine but those are the people who's kids bring home polio, or measles, or a number of deadly diseases because they were too worried about the risks to see the good. I had it happen to a friend so I am pretty pissed when people come around my kids and haven't been vaccinated, that and people get stupid when they hear modifieed live vaccine.

FYI. Modified live means it has a living strain of whatever you are vaccinating against but not strong enough to actually make you sick. A killed vaccine means the strain of whatever is dead, also less effective and requires boosters every 5 years where a modified live you need a booster every 10 years.

Mom worked in animal health and a lot of things cross over.

Yeah it is a reminder, and it should be sinking in since I make her decontaminated every time she wants to be around the girls, she has to shower, change clothes, wash her hair and brush her teeth.

Yup, I got her from Sanata, I will tell that story later on, likely on her birthday if I am on, if not more towards Christmas time.

Ara ara, all sorts of fun facts from this one.
If only I could stop getting out of bed, but it's not possible...

Roger that, I'll be sure to avoid your kids should I ever be in the area.

Well, that's assuming they're healthy enough to fend off what little danger the strain possesses. There are people who have excessively low immune systems, so even a normally considered harmless strain can prove dangerous.

I was going to make a wise crack on that, but what I had in mind escaped me.

Yikes! That's almost scary.

Oh I am well aware of compromised immune systems. My mom has one as does Darlene. Mom had a nasty bout of some virus that mutated into a serious lung infection and was hospitalized for months. Darlene caught whooping cough 6 months after birth and had to have a breathing tube (it is early, and I had one doozy of a night with a teething 9 month old.).

What I am more worried about is polio, rubella, measles, whooping cough, etc. people don't get their kids vaccinated for those and I get pissed about them being around my kids. Both were premature, and we know Darlene has a compromised immune system, and Nadia we won't know until she stops breastfeeding and actually gets sick.

The flu I could careless about except for this year where there are two deadly strains going around targeting infants/toddlers and the elderly/compromised immune systems. And since I am already Lysol crazy when anyone has the sniffles, I have a feeling this year I will be over board,

Eh, I have lasting lung scaring from my parents smoking and second hand smoke is deadly and sticks to everything so she decontaminated herself or she goes no where near my kids. So I don't need my girls getting the cough I have from it.

That's not good. (and neither is that)

That's understandable. It still sounds a bit extreme to me, but I'm not a parent so that would probably be why.

That sort of method sounds a bit much to me, then again I find the whole kills 99.9% of germs items to be more harm than good.

Strange....I live with smoking parents...and spend time around a multitude of other relatives that smoke and I can't say I have any issues caused by it...though that may just be me.

Well polio, rubella, whooping cough, measles, etc, are deadly. If they don't kill you. You will have lasting health problems. When I was pregnant with Nadia, we had a polio outbreak because we have overseas students brought it into the city. Guess who got sick? The people who didn't get vaccinated for it as kids. Being pregnant I was actually one of the groups most at risk. If I had caught it there was a chance I could have had Nadia as a still born, despite being vaccinated.

See I don't see it like that. Since I only do door knobs, light switches, the phone, kitchen counters and anything anyone has touched after taking out the trash. Besides I don't think you want litter box in your food since my cats love being up on the counters.

Here let me explain. After I got my whooping cough vaccine, and had cough what is known as croup. It is a chest infection, that is known for it's bark like cough. The doctor told my parents not to smoke around me they did, and my lungs scarred from coughing so hard. Then I had more damage done when I caught H1N1 (swine flu).

But doctors have noted that kids of people who smoke, have a pronounced cough. So you probably have damage you just don't know it.

Well, just about any illness is deadly in certain strains and/or left untreated. But I get the picture. Ah, I see...that must've been...annoying. Ah!

Well, that's not as severe as you sounded initially...still a bit much to me, but not bad. Depends on what you mean by "litter box" If you're talking about the cats using counters and such as bathrooms, I'd say to do something about the cats. If you mean that they carry litter around, I'd say I see your point. If you're just referring to the cats being up in that area and getting hair and such about...I really wouldn't see too much of a problem there since one of our cats is like that and the most we have to do is rinse dishes once more before putting them up.

Ah, I see.

Well, I could've told you that. I'm pretty sure I have a lot wrong with me, but I don't care to find out what. I'm not in pain and I'm alive that's all the more I care to know. Though I will have to say, I don't quite catch what you mean by "a pronounced cough".

I am talking about litter box feet. Meaning they get sand and/or clay all over the counter, because their litter box, is just outside the landing which is just a couple of steps down from the kitchen.

You have heard of smoker's cough right? That wheezing, loud, hacking cough that smokers get from long term use. That is pretty much exactly what they are talking about. They have found kids of smokers have smoker's cough.

Mine just has my croup cough mixed in that leads me to gag so hard I hurt myself.

Ah, I see. That makes sense then.

Yeah. I've even met people that have it, but neither my parents or me or my brothers have it....and if we do, it's nowhere near as severe.

Ouch.
