I can understand why women are so obsessed with the way they look, it's all apart of the mating game. But, the extremes that the media tells the masses are beautiful is sickening. At five foot 8 my measurements are 38 26 36. I wouldn't say by any stretch of imagination that I am fat yet I've actually had one boyfriend tell me I was simply because I didn't look like some starved teenager movie star.

We live one of the wealthiest countries in the world, we lack for nothing, yet there are droves of young women that starve themselves simply to model their bodies after someone else.

size zeros are creepy...even though my GF says i could probably fit into a 00....what size is that in mens?
but girls should be comfortable with how they are, as logn as they like don't let themselves get fat, i don't mean to sound shallow, but i know some people who have done that and they're like what the hell? i'm fat?

What's your measurements?

*not all sizing is the same*
Ref chart (in US):

Chest Waist
00: 26-28 20-22
0 : 28-30 23-24
0-2: 30-32 25-26
4-6: 32-34 27-28
8-10: 36-38 30-32
12-14: 40-42 33-35
16-18: 44-46 36-38

As for that fat thing, it's no wonder some women are paranoid about weight with attitudes like that seen as acceptable.

O.o
that chart is weird.
i just measured... 32-22-34
i'm 5'4" and i am definitely NOT too thin. no sane person would look at me and tell me i'm too thin.

Size zero sets practically unachievable, and horrific standards of self-image. Sadly, people actually set themselves on to getting to that size. It's a terrible idea...

I wish people would learn that the way you look shouldn't make any difference. sweatdrop

that's just sad when people degrade themselves to doing that s**t for money or fame.

If all were
as they are not
and all achieved
a desired style
would all be happy?
Or would all dread?

Though those exist
who are size one
size zero
size less
remember height
and Asian figures

Remember Betty Page
the models of yesterday
how to fill your jeans
and hold up your head
without dread
of falling dead.

This frankly sickens me, because the women are un healthy not beautful. because " beauty" is in the eye of the beholder, not the weight. Sure there might be some guy who says the skinnier you are the more beautful you are but when she falls down the stairs and breaks mutiple bones due to lack of protection AKA muscle and fat you will be left with out some one to love. But whatever, its their body let them die if they want to. it dosent bother me.

things like that depress me. i'm around 110-115, age 15 and about 5'3''. my mom used to and still does tell me that i'm overweight, which makes absolutely no sense. i mean, i know my a** isn't the smallest thing available, but what the hey, more to love if you ask me.
i think of myself as average, and i have no desire to lose weight. it would make my already neuter-looking figure more sticklike. and frankly, i want to have children when i grow up. women are supposed to have like 20% body fat (please tell me if i'm wrong) to carry a child successfully, so if every girl aspires to be a walking skeleton like (gag) lindsey lohan, then the human population is sure to decrease dramatically.
if i had a girlfriend, i would want her to be healthy and happy. i'm more into curves anyway, i would never date a stick that spends her evenings crouched over the toilet after dinner.
i bet if there were more people like me, then this fad would die out, i'm sure of it. i hope. sweatdrop

Size zeros are really very odd to me...It reminds me of a girl in my class a few years ago, I think during middle school, anyways, She was absolutely gorgeous. Perfect curves and body. If she were a lesbian or bi, I would have definitely asked her out. But there was this one day were we where just sitting around in class. She's speaking to someone about clothes. Than she says: 'I'm a size 0. I am sooo fat' At that point I honestly wanted to get up, turn around, and slap her in the face and yell at her telling her that she is no such thing. She is a gorgeous girl, yet she felt that she was fat by society's standards. The one question that popped into my mind at the time was 'If you think you're fat, than I'm a whale..' At that point I became mildly depressed. But than I got over it. Any who, women have been like this for what seems forever. Striving to be beautiful just to please the opposite sex (or same for some). I just wonder what happened to her after that...

If they are under 5', it's not a problem... Usually, people that size aren't that heavy anyways... But you shouldn't try to reduce your weight to impress others, or because it makes you feel better about yourself...

I say both yes and no.

Depends on the person them self.

It shouldnt be inspired like all women should look that way not true, people should be proud of who they are and how they look.

every one is beautiful to some body weither your size 0 or 100.

Dont matter.

its alright if there size zero if that what makes them feel comfortable, anbd if maybe there naturaly that small there are petit girls out there, But they shouldnt show it off as thoguh its the way woman should all look.

and being a bigger person isnt wrong either...But peopel should becarful with what they do and eat, Obesity dosent make you a bad person but it can be a bad and harmful thing to ones self. so being big is not wrong either, just gota becarful and look after your selfs. smile

actually, the average healthy intake for calories is 1500. That is to maintain weight. Still though. I am a 7, and I am damn proud. Besides, a little jiggle never hurt anyone. 3nodding

I think it's ridiculous. Most of these girls are usually very pretty, and reasonably skinny. I'm not that thin at all, but I don't want to be a size zero!

I stand at 5'4 and am naturally somewhere around 110 pounds at 17 years old. I'm a size zero-one depending on the brand. I'm little, but i'm not skin and bones. I've got a flat-not concave- stomach with a 27inch waist and am a 32B cup. My boyfriend has a fascination with the fact that he can cover my whole back with 3 hands, the width being the full length of one hand. He loves that he can call me "ma petite" and really use it's double meaning.

And I have a feeling I take in wayyyy more callories than these people say I should. I actually enjoy McDonalds and am constantly eating junk food. Lucky, I guess. I don't really exercise. I do occasionally try to watch what I eat, but it usually doesn't work too well. I had trouble for the longest time finding pants that fit correctly, if they fit my butt they'd be too loose for my legs. But then I realized for little girls, there really is a difference in brand names. The expensive ones use better patterns when they are made which makes them fit better. Tripp sucks for accomidating skinny girls...I have to take in their skinny jeans to make them fit right.

I do agree that these girls that starve themselves are just stupid. Everyone is different and will probably have a body size and weight that they stay around naturally. Having some meat on you isn't a bad thing- did you know the woman who played in Titanic was applauded for not being a stick? I may be little but personally, if I started seeing my individual ribs without sucking in, i'd be disgusted with myself.

I'm a US size 8, and happy. I'm curvy, pretty skinny, but not super duper skinny. I look healthy. It's so gross when people are too skinny. It's not comfortable either, if any of you know what I mean.
