it's hard to tell with just the first manga, since all of Yuu Watase's first books in the series are SUPER COOL!, and then start to fade as the series progress.

I agree with you on that with the exception of Imadoki. I thought the first volume was my least favorite and I don't really go back to it.

My favorite parts on FYGK so far are volume two and the first half of volume three. I'll start to read volume 4 when I'm back to my computer, and then I'll give my feedback.
I didn't find the beginning of FY that good comparing to the middle and end of the series. Of course, I'm talking about the first part, because the second... ugh.
For AnC, I absolutely loved the ending. There were many boring parts in the middle, I must say.

Wow... its hard to pin my favorite parts... volume four, overall, is probably my favorite for character and plot development. There's not just one good scene, there's tons. Though my absolute favorites are chapters 13 and 14 which will be in volume five. I would love to tell you why, nothing major happens, except in the regard to relationship s >^^< Its beautiful. I was giggling and squealing in my chair, ask my mom she kept glaring at me lol.

Volumes 1-3 had some great parts too, its just the most recent ones that I've really really enjoyed. Those are the parts I've been waiting to get too.

Well, since I couldn't understand chapter 10-14, I didn't like it very much. But now that I have my dear translations, I can read them when I go back to my computer...
But really, I don't like it very much when the main character starts to date some guy. I prefer when there are many obstacles, like in Imadoki or Alice 19th. Of course, Takiko and Rimudo's relationship wasn't easy to develop, but I prefer when the official "first kiss" is in the end of the series.

Well, when you're actually able to read and understand chapters 10-14 you'll understand that this isn't exactly that easy of a relationship. They are definitely not "dating" now, nor will they ever be I believe. Rimudo and Takiko's relationship is much more serious than just mere childish dating. And I HATE when manga-ka's keep kisses until the end, especially when its completely obvious that two characters are in love. I think Watase-sensei has handled Rimudo and Takiko wonderfully so far, she hasn't rushed them like Tamahome and Miaka, and they have more of a bond and maturity that Tamahome and Miaka lacked.

Spoiler-sorta:At the end of chapter 14 Rimudo tells Takiko that beyond that moment to forget all that is said or done there. They confess their feelings for one another but both accept the fact that because of their fates they cannot consumate that love. Which, I think, is way more mature and beautiful than the original FY could ever pull off. It shows just how much they really do care for one another but also accept their duties.

Well, I won't read the spoiler since I'll be able to read the manga in a week. And I wasn't very good in expressing my opinion, since by "kiss at the end of the series" I meant that I find it kinda boring watching the couple being on a huge spotlight. But Watase-sensei has "matured" (kind of xp ) so I think that I'll see a good relationship in FYGK. 3nodding

I think the two of them will end up together. I mean, we all know *cough* Ok, most of us know what's going to happen to her in the end, so why wouldn't she be with him if she knew that-a big honking killer monster god was going to swallow her up anyways now that she summoned him?

Edit: Scratch that. Who wouldn't grab the nearest person next to them if they knew it would piss of their killer? xd

You gotta read the Watase side notes. Those things pack a lot of great information. And while we basically know Takiko's fate from the original FY, Watase herself said that she might end up changing some details around. I mean, besides, where Takiko got her Shinzahou is already different from the original, so you really can't say we know everything that's going to happen. I'm basically putting what I found out from the original to the side.

Is there anyway to get a hold of the side notes? My friend that's translating for me apparently missed them. I hope she does change it around. There's something I never really got (here I go with spoilers again). If Taikiko met it when she was still a teen, then why is her voice old in the OAVs for FY?
