yes it is because since God breathed a part of Himself when He made adam, it is like He's inside of us. we need to keep our bodies clean.
What about communion? Even though its Jesus's body and blood you can get drunk on it still, that effects of alcohol still remain.

i think drinking is only a sin if you get drunk. In the Bible Jesus and the disciples drink wine all the time. so no its not a sin if you just do it sometimes and dont get drunk.

MATTHEW 26:27-29 KJV

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

now is this verse stating drinking is a sin? well i'm not sure, yet if Jesus has declared drinking isn't something he will do then i also wont drink. sin or not Jesus had a reason why he wouldn't drink wine again. remember WWJD? (what would Jesus do?) if he declares he wont do it then perhaps as christians we shouldn't either to set the good example for the rest of the world.

In this specific case I believe this is supposed to be another hint at His future persecution. He does point out that He will do it again, but only when He comes back.

possibly or it might actually mean when everyone is in heaven. either way if anyone is unsure of something being right or wrong just remember wwjd. if you're not sure Jesus would do it then maybe we shouldn't be doing it either.

If the nation's law are that you can't drink alcohol if you are younger than 21, then it's a sin, for we have to obey the authorities that God has put over us. I can't say that alcohol by itself is a sin. In case of us using it, let's do it with moderation, but at any rate, let's first consider:

1. What are our motives to consume alcohol?: Do we want to do it because we see everyone do it? Are we curious about it? Are we doing it because it's not that bad of a thing? Or are we doing it to glorify God?

2. Can it cause stumble to our brothers and sisters in Christ? Paul said he would abstain from eating meat if it caused stumble to his brothers. Do we have that same commitment? Do we really care for the spiritually weak? Are we serving as a temptation to other Christians who are struggling with drinking?

3. Is there any other way we could sattisfy our desire of drinking something? Can we drink something else that wouldn't shake the conscience of other brothers and sisters? Do we need to drink alcohol?

Let's just check up on this questions, and of course: Never forget to seek for God's advise through prayer and the Scriptures, as well as asking someone mature in the faith. Take care.

I believe that alcohol cannot hurt a person if used in moderation and was a gift from God. In the past alcohol was a safe form of refreshment that didn't have the problems of parasites and disease.

However we no longer need alcohol to keep our drinks sanitary and many people everyday drink themselves sick or even to their death. I beleive that drinking is not a sin no matter your age or faith. It is all in how you drink.

I have belonged to many churches and denominations in my life and it seems that many think that drinking is a sin. What is your opinion?

The bible did not condemn drinking. It condemned drunkeness. Even Jesus drank wine but getting drunk is a sin.

If alcohol was itself bad, Jesus would never have turned water into wine. Sure it's not necessary any more for sanitation, but that doesn't change it to be evil.

The thing that can make alcohol evil is what we do with it. Drunkenness is one example of how it can be bad, but it's not really the only one. Dependence on the substance is possibly even more dangerous.

In this text JC was foreshadowing as he did often in His last days. It was after all the LAST supper, but He gave us communion and told us to it it in His remembrance.

I say drinking alcohol is not a sin but there are times when yuo should not:
if it is against the law
if yuor parents/spouse forbid it(out of respect wink )
if yuo're pregnant (like me ^_^) or breastfeeding
if you're doctor tells you not to
if yuo're anywhere near getting tipsy as the bible speaks sternly against drunkeness
if you're spirit tells yuo not to (sometimes God talks to us and asks us to give more)

alternatives: water, which is almost always safe to drink (not if you're having a seizure), juice and milk can all do more good than harm.

My husband teached me to enjoy alcohol. He drinks it sometimes and when he drinks, he doesn't drink much. It makes him relaxed, I think. And he simply likes the taste of beer. Especially the finest ones.

i geuss it all depends on how you drink it. in the bible jesus turns water into wine, and at the last supper, he gives wine to represent his blood. we drink wine every time we have communion, 21 or under, it dosent mater, we do it anyway. it all depens on how much you drink. you can have fun with it, but as doing so, also being respocible and only drinking a little bit, or you can get drunk, and act stupid. its all your chionce.
