Laila was surprised- and then she wasn't. Of course the boy wouldn't know anything about zippers! She almost laughed at the silly face he made when he tried to figure out how to get her sweater off. "Look," she tried to explain, "There's a little metal handle at my neck. The sweater opens if you pull it down." Well, that was the basic run-down anyway. Then came an entire barrage of questions, which she slowly tried to answer.

"My name is Laila." So far, so good. This, at least, she remembered. "And... I think I just fell out of the sky." Which was also true. She'd almost forgotten where she'd been flying from- or indeed, where she was heading- in all the commotion.

Hakurou brown eyes watched her as she explained how to get this silly thing called a sweater off of her. He wondered why it was called a sweater as he reached up for the metal that the girl spoke of he lightly pulled it down as he did the sweater parted and opened he tilted his head trying to understand why this worked so well. He pulled it down all the way to the bottom he watched as the bottom edges as they parted he wondered if it was supposed to happen or if he ruined her sweater. He looked at her then pulled the sweater off her arms."Laila.. I am called Hakurou. I'm sure you came from some place other then the sky." He said wondering where she had come from he really longed to know what lie farther out there. He placed his fingers into the green goo spreading it on the back of her neck and then on her arms. "Where had you been going before you fell from the sky?" He asked he would of asked her about that metal thing she had been in but he wouldn't bother he wondered if she missed her home he hoped that he could help her get back.

Laila approved. The forest boy had worked out how to use the zipper of her sweater quite quickly, although she didn't attribute this to her explaining skills at all. In fact, she supposed that she would rather have confused him with her explanation than helped him. Well, that was very much her anyway. In either case, the pair had finally managed to shrug off her sweater, and he was gently massaging the green goo- what was that, anyway?- over her sore neck. Quite the delightful feeling, really, after everything she'd gone through over the past few hours. If it had been hours- it certainly didn't feel like it had been hours. She almost shook her head in confusion but thought better of it quickly, reminded by a cool sensation that she supposed must be the goo. In fact, she very much hoped it was the goo because if it was not, she really didn't want to know what it was.

"Hako-...." Laila stopped. How was it? "Hakauro, no.... " she was definitely not very good at this, and it annoyed her. "Hakurou?" Yes, that was it. "Hakurou. I was going to meet my mother before I fell from the sky. She lives in Metterburg." At least, Laila was quite sure that the place was named that. She'd never paid too much attention before, and her mom had moved more than once. Also, she wondered whether the forest boy would know the city name at all. He'd grown up in the forest, hadn't he? If that was the case, he might not even know where the city was. The thought made her a little bit sad. Perhaps, just perhaps, she would never see her mother again. Or her father.

( #Randomplacenames. I hope that's okay with you )

Hakurou watched Laila as he put the mixture of herbs on her. He had rarely had any use of it on himself he remembered when he was younger and still learning about hunting a traveling tribe at the time had taught him how to make it. He was pulled from his thoughts as Laila said his name as he finished putting the mixture on her open areas of skin.

He had never had anyone else say his name before, but he had never thought to really say it to anyone. He tilted his head as she talked about going to her mother. "Mettarbarg??" He questioned feeling he wasn't quit saying it right. "Where is that?" He questioned he had never left this forest. "I will try to help you get there." He said not quite knowing how he would do that but he would figure it out but she didn't here in the forest.

Laila shivered. The cream- goo- whatever- was delightfully cooling to her smarting spots, but it was cool and that made her skin crawl. When Hakurou was done spreading the medicine over her skin, she wondered how long it would have to stay there. Hours? How much would she freeze if the evening came and she still had it on her skin? A lot, probably. Laila knew very well that she was prone to freezing. But then she had to giggle, if just a little bit, at how he mispronounced the city name. The mirth subsided quickly, however, and her expression grew more sombre again.

"Where it is? I-.... " Laila looked down. She could find it on a map, but the forest boy would probably not have a map. Which, of course, meant that she had no idea where she was and even less of an idea where she wanted to go now. Well, she knew where she wanted to go but she didn't know where it was anymore. Slowly, her shoulders sank at the realization. "I don't know where it is from here," she eventually finished meekly.

Hakurou looked at her when she told him that she didn't even know where here was he put the small bowl away and grabbed a stick. He lowered to the ground and drew the best he could of were they were. He drew other bigger islands farther away from his but he left them unfinished he was only going off the memory of what he could remember from what Indians had told him. "This is where we are." He said and marked put a small dot on the out line of his island. He roamed it all the time so he knew how to find anything he needed.

Her skin was still cold. Cool. Whatever. Laila hugged herself lightly to keep the warmth, because she felt awfully cold without her sweater. Even though, she peered at what Hakurou was doing- first curiously, then blankly. She could see, pretty clearly, that it was a map of sorts. A very crude map, like maps drawn in the dirt with a stick tended to be, but it was a map. What bothered her much more was that she couldn't recognize anything. Well, maybe that one shape there looked vaguely familiar, but it looked so far... away.

Crap, shot through her head, I never really did understand how far it is between mom's and dad's house... and now I'm lost here. Laila sniffed. She was lost, she was cold, and everything around her was foreign- even she herself wasn't herself anymore, it seemed. "That's-... thanks," she told her new escort, trying desperately to keep the tears out of her voice and failing miserably.

Hakurou looked at her as she rapped her arms around herself he tilted his head he never felt cold. He knew the mixture was cool, but soon it would harden and warm he wasn't sure when it would harden on a human skin. He looked at her eye as they looked at his map he could see with in her eye's that she recognized some of it, but it wasn't all that helpful.

He wiped away the map on the ground. He could draw it out at any time if she needed it. He heard a tremble in Laila's voice he looked at her unsure what to do he moved closer to her lightly touching the green stuff. "You should be warming up soon the mixture is hardening. If you are tired you can lay in the fur if the mixture gets on the fur it will wash out." He said hoping that getting some sleep would help calm her. He just wasn't sure if it would help. He still had to think about eating and finding food for the both of them in the morning.

Laila quietly hid her head in her hands. Fortunately, her rescuer and newly anointed companion didn't seem to mind her state of despair. It gave her a little bit of distance, a little bit of time to herself, even though it made her feel equally just a little bit lonely. A sniff escaped her, though she quickly wiped her nose with the back of her hand. Quietly, almost meekly, she nodded to Hakurou's words, before maintaining her stance of sitting still. Sitting was actually a bit helpful, she found.

Eventually, though, she had to give in to exhaustion. Slowly, her eyes began to droop, and her eyelids grew heavy. After half an hour, perhaps, of quiet sitting, she quietly slid down into the furs, not even caring about the goo maybe ruining them by now. Besides, the goo had dried already anyway, which meant that it didn't mess them up. And then she drifted off into strange dreams with wolves, airplanes and her mom, whom she was sure was missing her right now.

( Should we, hm, turn the time over to the next day after this? )

Hakurou had not been around an human like her the indian's that he had met traveling through seemed different from her. He felt like he was doing something wrong, but know idea what it was or how to make things better for her. He backed away from her watching her with out seeming like he had been watching her. Once she had slipped into a dream state he cover her with another fur he had noticed that she was more affected by the temperature, but he figured it would help keep wild wolves away from the cave. He turned back into his wolf form and fell asleep at the front of the cave.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Morning~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before sunlight he woke stretching out his wolf body he looked to the back of the cave to see Laila still asleep from what he could tell. He transformed into his human form and found the wolf he had attacked protecting Laila it had been left to die. He killed it skinning it for its fur. He left the meat for the wild animals. He carried the fur to the beach washing it in the sea water to clean the fur. He didn't want to go to the river it was farther from the cave where Laila slept. He finished leaving the fur to dry on the sand. He swam out into the water then dove down into the water going after fish three he was could eat two but the third fish was rather smaller for Laila he wasn't even sure if she liked fish or if it would be enough for her. He used a sharp rock to kill them then swam back to the surface he used the same sharp rock to take off the scales off the fish. He stabbed a stick through each fish. He looked up seeing that the sky got brighter welcoming the new day he quickly grabbed the fish and the fur and went back to the cave. Once back at the cave he got the fire going again and placed the fish so the could cook. He grabbed a woven basket and gathered a few different eatable berries. He walked back and this time walked all the way into the cave folding the fur and putting it near the wall as he lowered as he got really close to the girl listening to her breathing.
Laila woke up to the strange sensation of someone having stuffed a cat in her face. Certainly, there was a lot of fur in her mouth, and her attempts to remove it proved rather unsuccessful. Which led her to the conclusion that whatever fur was in her face was, in fact, not a cat, because a cat would have torn through her face at about this point. She knew, because her father had a cat (and a dog), and the former sometimes decided that the sleeping human girl was a perfect resting spot. Which she was, as long as she was sleeping. When she was awake. Laila tended to move around too much to be comfortable to lie on. Now.... she sat up, and winced at the immediate response from most of her body that this had been a bad idea.
When the stars had faded from her field of vision, she tried to think again. Okay, so... yesterday had not been a dream. That was probably important. Two, she still hurt really badly. But that might have been because she moved too quickly. It didn't seem quite as bad as she remembered it, except that moving fast made it worse. She groaned and- much more carefully- raised her hands to her spinning head. For a little while, Laila just sat like that, waiting for everything to return to its proper place, or at least until it stopped moving. Thank you.
Slowly, her eyes spun into focus again. Important things to notice: There was a smell of food, and her stomach voiced that it was, in fact, ravenous. Point two: "Augh!" Reflexively, she skittered back a little in the bed, but quickly gave it up because one, it hurt, and two, it made her head spin again. Still, the sight of that strange boy from the forest so close to her face had been really scary. It made some of the more adult parts of her mind worry about what might have happened during the night, while she was sleeping and vulnerable..... but that would have woken her up, the more sensible parts replied. And the boy didn't look like the sort of person who would do that sort of thing, they added hopefully.
With exaggerated care, she squinted at him. First came a groan- not because she was displeased to see him, that much was clear- and then, more pleasantly, "Uhhh.... hi. Is it morning already?"
Hakurou smiled as he noticed her eye's opened and he backed away from her a little bit smiling at her as he scratched the back of his head. He hoped that she wasn't scared of him. "Hi.. The sun hasn't been in the sky long. It is early in the day still I hope I didn't wake you. If you have slept enough I could help you move to the fire while we wait for the fish to cook." He said as he looked at her face. He hoped that she was doing better today so they could travel to the stream to get some water. He knew that he didn't have enough water for the rest of the day for the both of them.
Slowly, Laila's body was changing gears from sleep mode to being awake and aware of its surroundings. Her eyes, at first still sleepy and vague, focused and began to actually look at what she was seeing, which for the most part was Hakurou. Still, it wasn't the most unpleasant sight you could see when waking up. The next part of her that began to voice itself were her nerve endings, which began their tedious task of informing her that she was still hurting all over. But it seemed less than the evening before, and she was glad for it. On and on, she roused herself. After only a moment or two, she yawned and tried to fight back the impulse to stretch out- but it was too late. Her body arched itself out, stretching the muscles, inducing an immediate wince from her and quickly stopped again. Then she was awake.
"Breakfast?" she asked curiously, tilting her head just enough that it got her message across while not hurting. Warm fish for breakfast was something very new to her, but somehow it seemed perfectly natural in this place. Besides, after a moment of consideration, her stomach informed her that she was ravenous. Healing up so many sore spots required a lot, lot of nourishment, and she'd hardly had any since yesterday. "Breakfast sounds good..." the word was stretched out a little for emphasis. Carefully, she looked down at herself- she'd slept in her clothes, so there wasn't any need to get dressed again. Maybe she'd have to ask the boy where he got his clothes from, because she would probably need a shift sometime soon. Something not soaked in the remains of her crash. Pushing the line of thought away, she offered her arm to Hakurou, so she could put it over his shoulder and be guided over to the fireplace. Certainly, she wasn't very sure about how well her feet were going to support her.
Hakurou tilted his head at this strange word breakfast was this really another way to eat in the early hours of the day. He move close to her as she put her arm around his shoulders. He watcher her carefully as he helped her stand and move to the front of the cave to the camp fire. He slowly helped her lower to the ground. "Here is you fish there is also a basket of berries." He said as he sat next to her wondering how she felt today as she took his fish and bit into it enjoying the cook flavor of the fish. He had gotten so lazy just eating in his wolf form. He was glad she was there that he would have to eat cooked food not that it mattered how he ate. He paused from eating and took a hand full of blueberries and raspberries from the basket and slowly ate them as he watched the fire blaze on.
Walking was probably not an entirely appropriate verb to describe the way of Laila's motion toward the fireplace. Who would waste the chance to use such eloquent possibilities as "dragging", "hobbling" or "stumbling", after all? Few enough people. In either case, she hung rather tightly onto the strange boy who was her companion- and honestly, he wasn't all that strange to her anymore. She'd grown accustomed to him very quickly, possibly because he was something remotely recognizable from her past life. That being a human being. It was very nice to have such a comfortable, familiar shape around in the crazy new environment that was surrounding her.
Therefore, she tried to wince as little as possible as she moved, and only groaned a little when she finally dumped down in front of the fireplace, because the shock sent waves of dull agony through most of her torso. When she'd recovered from that unpleasant experience (she'd had worse), she gratefully accepted the offered fish. And paused.
Clearly, the fish she was holding was a fish. There was no doubt to be had that the thing she was holding was, in fact, a fish. Most fish she had until now encountered tended to be in the shape of filet, not whole. This fish, on the other hand, seemed to be mostly intact, minus the scales. Which made eating it a little bit more challenging. Okay, a lot more challenging. Eating something that could give you a reproachful stare was generally not something Laila was comfortable with, and she squirmed a little bit. Nevertheless, she didn't want to seem ungrateful or anything- she'd had her life saved by the boy and somehow, refusing to eat his fish would feel like a violation of some sort. So she took a bite from the fish anyway.
It was well done. No seasoning, her taste buds informed her, but definitely cooked through all the way. And it tasted a whole lot like fish. She chewed it a little more. The consistency was also very fish-like. Anything to distract her from the thought of those dead, staring fish eyes. Focusing on something else entirely, she swallowed. Her stomach accepted the offering with a growl, and she felt a little queasy again. Nevertheless, she forced herself to take two more bites before giving up and hoping for another chance to nibble on something later, when her body wasn't rebelling.
"So what is it you- we- do all day?"
