The Blackthorn Inn

[Sorentine]

Brambles snagged her hair and coiled around her feet, causing Sayomi to trip. She landed ungracefully, sprawled upon her back. She clenched her fists in frustration as she gazed at the darkening sky. I need to get OUT of here. The slender girl pushed herself to her feet, swaying unsteadily. There was something far too eery about this forest. As darkness begun to settle, Sayomi's unease grew.

A flash of white feathers ruffled near her spine as she resettled her wings against her back. She pulled her cloak around herself, hoping to veil the new feathery appendages. Keep going. Sayomi told herself. She withdrew a viciously curved dagger from her pouch, holding it tightly in her hand. She leaned forward, attempting to balance the weight of her wings, and begun to cut through the brambles and branches that seemed determined to reach out and choke her.

There.
She could now see the inn through the trees. Her sense of danger was dulled as she emerged from the trees. Sayomi breathed a soft sigh of relief. The forest had felt wrong.

Suddenly she stiffened. Darkness enveloped her, and her neck prickled with unease once more. No, no, no! Not now, danger please please go away! Sayomi ran. She stumbled across the clearing, her gate awkward from her twitching wings, veiled beneath her cloak. She pushed upon the rough door to find...
It was locked.
The blood drained from her face. She could feel malevolent eyes upon her, a dark presence that pressed upon her from all sides.

She pounded on the door desperately. "Help! Please let me in! Help me please!"

The male nodded and crossed his arms.

"Well, I may be finished with my drink but there are a lot of people here. Do you need an help cleaning up, anything?"

He looked in her dark eyes with his light green eyes.

"Unless you want nothing to do with help either" he stated humorously.

Willow ran to the entrance, ignoring the man's questions, unlocked it and threw the doors open, "Hurry in!" she said to the newcomer, "hurry quick!".

As soon as the other person was in, she closed the door with a loud slam and locked it tightly. Spinning around, she slumped against it.

Rachel was awakened by beating on the door. She saw the Innkeeper frantically trying to open it. Seamus took up a protective stance in front of Rachel.

suwako wandered to the lobby from her room "what a noisy bunch you especially suika" she stated "can i please get some green tea?" she asked politely as she took a seat in the lobby at an empty table  

[Lord Bartheyamus Aurlin]

Bartheyamus reflexively drew his dagger but upon seeing the newest guest in the Inn, relaxed and put it back into his scabbard. He turned to Suwako, annoyed.

"How can you think of tea at a time like this!? There is obviously something close here, to us."

He walked over hurriedly to Willow and offered her his hand to help her up. While doing so, he turned his head to regard Brambles.

"Miss, I trust you are alright? What transpired out there?"  

[Sorentine]

To her amazement, the door opened and Sayomi was pulled inside. She trembled violently as the door slammed shut and the weight of the malevolent eyes lifted from her slight frame. It was obvious she had been nearly frightened to death, as she crouched, looking torn between fight and flight.

As the haze of adrenaline lifted, her trembling came to an abrupt stop and she removed her gaze from the door.

She glanced wearily about and pulled her cloak more self consciously around herself.

"Um... t-thank you." She winced at the stutter as she addressed the inn keeper. Sayomi clenched her fists and tried to look as if she hadn't nearly been scared out of her skin. "For saving me. Thank you for letting me in."

"yes but panicking never helped anything" suwako replied "if we jump at every noise we hear, then will end up being paranoid and probably end up killing each other instead of what ever is out there" she explained

Standing up, Willow approached the new guest as calmly as she could, though she was still shaking. "Are you okay?" she asked quietly. "Here, I'll make you some hot cocoa to help calm your nerves. I'll be right back."  

[Lord Bartheyamus Aurlin]

He addressed Suwako once more.

"Regardless. Awareness, readiness, and preparedness are our best asset in moments of danger."  

[Sorentine]

Sayomi gazed at the male who had addressed her. She squared her shoulders and tried to look nonchalant as she answered him. "Aside from being filthy I think I'm okay." She picked at the brambles and branches stuck in her lavender locks. "There are things out there..." She murmured, somewhat lamely, unsure of how to describe her recent experience.  

[Sorentine]

The girl attempted a smile for the kindly inn keeper, but only managed a grimace. "Thank you." She murmured, glancing wearily about.  

[Lord Bartheyamus Aurlin]

The male crossed his arms once more and assumed his trademark stuff posture as he faced Sayomi.

"I know the danger all too well, I've been living out there. It's been only recently that I've been staying in a room."

He looked at the dirt and dust on her face and seemed sympathetic.

"Here," he tossed her a white cotton handkerchief with and embroidered logo: VdL surrounded by pattens of ivy.
"Clean yourself up a bit, it's not much but it'll help get the dirt out of your eyes."

Willow wandered back into the lobbey, a steaming cup of hot cocoa in her hands. She handed it off to the new guest and stood at her side patiently. "Do you remember what happened out there? Are you okay with talking about it?"
