Hello there guys, I'm CatSilver @ Deviantart.com. Obviously I'm found under the same username online in most places.
I'm the proud owner of an art shop here on Gaia. I can pretty much imitate any style of art given enough time, and find that to be a fun thing to practice with. I have more original Characters for More Series than most people would approve of, and I think that's just fine because mostly the character designs were for practice.
I've been drawing most of my life, I just turned 21, and have been here and on DA since 2003, which amuses me. I started out doing distinctly anime styled art, but I've been trying to add more of an American look to things. I also started doing realism. I'm pretty much digital art focused, due to not liking scanning things, but I do have my traditional art stuffed in various places around my room.
I love drawing, despite the fact that it's become work for me, and still have high hopes for doing an online webcomic called Riot High. For now though, I'm working on a smaller project while writing the novels for Riot High, which will be a short Boy Love webcomic/possibledoujin. Very short, only 42 pages, but it'll be more than I've ever finished before. Here's hoping I'll finish it this time!
I like Pokemon, Negima!, Terry Pratchett, Avatar the Last Airbender, Family Guy, magic, and more. I'm rather insane, and hermit-like, and usually dislike people openly. I'm mean to people, and generally foul-tempered, so when you get a faceful of nice, be shocked and awed. It happens more frequently than I wish it did. Heh.

Ah... I've lived in California (Los Angeles area) all my life. I've always loved drawing (earliest memory of putting effort into it-- 9 years old). I love all kinds of art really (pencil, ink, paint, sculpture, digital, etc) and I've been a member at DA since Aug 2004. I often find inspiration from other artists or music, films, books, etc. I always have a sketchbook with me (I keep a 5x8 book with a mechanical pencil in my purse at all times) but I often doodle on just about anything in front of me (post-its, napkins, envelopes, etc) I've only ever had art classes in high school, I am mostly self-taught. Especially where digital is concerned. I use Photoshop7 |
