And she could move again. Thought rejoined her body with a bizarre slamming feeling, and as her other hand came up to stop his face from nearing the hand that held his arm, she managed to say, "Don't worry, you'll live."

Though why she did so was beyond her.

Pushing his head so his neck was bared, Doro went through the automatic movements of feeding. Lowering her head, she bit gently into his neck, as was her habit- ripping the throat to shreds rarely resulted in any sort of profit, as excess blood was lost and often he victim died, which the four preferred to avoid at all costs. As the first drops of new blood entered her, there was a feeling like a shroud being lifted from her mind, and she could sense feelings again. Initial pain, she felt. But soon, she knew, the endorphins running through her would affect her victim and take the pain away. Some people were sensitive enough to the saliva that they became addicted to the high it gave them- that was how they got people willing to donate blood to them.

Finally, Doro heard her saliva cause his pulse to speed. Greedily, she began to suck the rushing blood.

Home soon...

The light of the blue moon . . . .

Damian sucked in a breath as she bit him, pain shooting through him at first, but it seemed to numb over time. His heart picked up in speed, releasing more adreniline into his bloodstream. His moved his head so he exposed even more of his neck, the feeling becoming addictive. It was as if he wanted her to feed on him, to suck him dry and leave him dead. Part of him that had nothing to do with the endorphins wanted to die. He had no reason to exist, he had nothing to live for, but the other part of him screamed to snap out of it and try to find a way to escape her, kill her if he had to. His internal conflict continued as he stood there a hand holding her head to his throat while his other hand still gripped the one that held his arm.

Ooh, conflict. It made her giddy- the emotional climate was amazing. Depression and elation at once- it she wasn't careful, she would end up addicted, and that would be a hindrance for the other three. His wish to be dead- well, she had to stop now, or follow through with his wish. Fortunately, Doro knew her limits. Not at all sated, Doro pulled away, brushing aside the hand that had made it's way behind her head. She hated it when this happened- she'd have to feed in stages. On the other hand, she was strong enough to bring him to their home now.

Placing, a hand over his neck to stem the flow of blood, she retracted her arm from where she had been holding him to keep him in place, now unnecessary, and swore softly under her breath. "Why do you have to make it so goddamned difficult?" Reaching up to pull her hood back in place, covering her face to hide her still bloodred eyes, she used the hold on his neck to pull him with her as she started toward home again. If he tried to resist...well, she could just shatter his mind, now couldn't she? Not too hard. Now that she had some blood in her, anyway.

She'd finish feeding at home, keep the residence safe, be there when everyone else got back...make sure this depressed lunatic didn't do anything stupid.

Some people were born idiots, others got depressed into it. She hoped he was the latter.

The light of the blue moon . . . .

The side effects of her feeding on him last a few moments longer before he blinked feeling her holding onto his neck forcing him to go with her. He could resist, but why risk it? Hmm. Well, he didn't have an answer to that one. He tried to break free of her, hoping he could. "I don't know, maybe it's because you're trying to make me your dinner." He hissed.

"Wasn't talking about that. Come on." She didn't particularly enjoy talking- it tended to be pointless, and actions worked a lot better when you were trying to get your point across.

Annoyed by his struggling, she grabbed his arm instead of his neck, then bent down and began drinking until the aphrodisiac feeling would kick in again. She preferred not to resort to her powers yet- it wasted precious strength, and she'd have to drink more blood.

The light of the blue moon . . . .

Damian quit struggling once all that feeling rushed over him again. He did want the feeling to stop since it felt so good. He became willing to her, his body and mind losing contact with the reality of this danger.

Finally. Detaching again, she scooped him into her arms and began running towards home. It was faster this way...though slower than she normally was. But to a human, it would seem impossibly fast. Maybe he'd stop trying to get away, though the other bit she wasn't sure he could dispel. But hey, he was her's now. She was still thirsty, anyway. If it were Ana and Rei, they wouldn't have been able to stop like she did- they fed off each other's emotions, and spiraled out of control even if they didn't realize it.

The light of the blue moon . . . .

Damian felt his feet off the ground before feeling air whip past them, his eyes looked about and he realized that they were moving. His heartbeat quickened a bit in surprise.

||OoC:: Mine are just as bad, no worries.||

Damn. Doro ground her teeth together in frustration. He didn't even realize who hard it was for her to not take advantage of his now quickened heartbeat and suck him dry. She wanted a bloody massacre, her sight now tinted with crimson. God, hadn't she gotten over this years ago? She knew better than to try to drink a full human ever again- without knowing their conscious state first, anyway. The idiot. He was going to ruin the trust she had from Riordan, Ana, and Rei to not do anything stupid. Huh. Maybe she'd make it hurt, just for payback. But that'd be childish and pointless...damn standards. Not that she had many, but all four vampires had their own share of pride.

If he proved to be a threat, she would have fun killing him. Maybe she could even set him up that way. But again, childish. On the other hand, she was almost home- the door was fixed in her sights ahead. At least he was surprised enough not to struggle for the moment.

The light of the blue moon . . . .

The surprise soon died away along with the feeling of esctasy. Damian looked up at the girl who had bitten him, wondering why he had to be on tonight's menu. He could get away from her, but what would be the point? She'd would've been on him before he could even take two steps. He was good as dead now, going to be sucked dried or even played with like a scratching post or something. He closed his eyes, picturing his family for just a moment before the memory burned away.

Rage flashed through Doro as his memory of his family entered his head. It took an immense amount of effort not to just pulverize him, prey or not. Caution thrown to the wind, she slammed into the house and threw him through the pitch blackness towards the couch on the other end of the room, knowing it would cushion the blow. "Goddammit!! At least you have a family! Why would I take that from anyone? You really think I'm trying to kill you? Little b*****d. Mentally flicking the light switch on the other side of the room, the foyer was brought into illumination. She'd done worse to him than she thought- but no, the extra bleeding was because she hadn't covered his wound while running back.

Too angry to trust herself to feed without mortal consequences, Doro flashed to the side table and pulled a drawer open to retrieve a cloth and antiseptic. Squirting ample contents of bottle on the clean cloth, she turned back to the couch, taking in the figure she had just brutally cast there. What was with him, that he could draw emotion from her, who only ever felt emotion at feeding, and never to this extent? Was it that he was true human? Or a combination of that and other things?

To calm herself, Doro reminded herself that she did have family- Riordan, Ana, Rei- to lean on. But in so many ways, she was more a protector, a butler, than family member. Riordan was closer to being more "family" like, but even he had his own edge of ruthlessness. None of them were capable of unconditional love- only support depending on the promise of help when they needed it.

Crossing the room to meet her prey- Damian, she now knew, from the facts embedded in his mind- and turned his head to expose his neck, preparing to cleanse it. She had carried him through the toxic enviroment outside enough to provoke infection, though their own home was toxin free. Before beginning to clean, she said, "This might sting a little." 'A little', right- it was gonna hurt like hell. The petty payback from the pain had had caused her felt oh, so good. Placing the cloth roughly against his neck, she began to clean the open wound.

The light of the blue moon . . . .

Damian gritted his teeth, baring the pain of her cleaning the puncture wounds before he opened his mouth, only a few words slipping out. "Had." He said, his voice was soft, almost below a whisper. "I had a family, but they were all killed." His eyes lingered on the flooring, not caring that she had tossed him across the room or even had drank from him earlier. He felt only the pain of her cleaning his wound, the rest of him was just empty. No thoughts, just existance. The loss of his family had destroyed him greatly, but he had recovered over time. It was whenever he thought about them did it bring this emptiness, leaving him hallow for a good five minutes before it was over with. Yet, those short five minutes seemed to stretch for an eternity to him. His eyes looked at the girl, questioning her without a word.

He made her wonder. Did it hurt worse to lose something dear to you or to never know what it is you have never had, yet still know is real?

Damn. There was a reason she didn't usually have emotions- it led her to ask questions like that, to doubt, to hurt. Physical wasn't what she shied from, but the true pain of the heart that she cowered in terror in front of. Half-lives were better, living without feeling, or hurt, only moving forward without any emotional impact. She was less than a drop of water in this world, pointless, unlikely to ever make a difference to someone else, to have a purpose.

His pain was numbing. It made her forget her emotions. They were pointless. All that needed matter was the moment, and living it without pain.

Finally finishing her cleaning of the wound, she made her way back to the side table, human pace this time, and retrieved a bandage. Taping it over the wound she had created, for the purpose of stopping excessive bleeding and exposure to the air, she then replaced the materials she had used. Deciding to use a fact to take him off guard for less struggles while she moved him again, she finally responded to his comment with her own. "My parents abandoned me the day I was born. I have never known family."

Scooping him up again, hoping to take advantage the moment before he could try to move though she doubted he would, she skittered through the far door, turning the foyer lights off on her way out, and came to a staircase that seemingly descended so far as to reach hell itself. Lights automatically blinked on, and Damian still in her arms, she took the usual way down, leaping over the railing to fall through the space between the stairs. Lights illuminated as they passed, detecting the motion, and if you were to look up, all that would be visible would be white light, as if a portal to heaven. Reaching the bottom of the seemingly endless abyss, Doro landed so softly that it seemed not as if they had landed but that the sensation of falling had nulled so that it was no longer noticeable.

She was still thirsty...so though she was going to take him to the infirmary to make sure he wouldn't become anemic himself before bothering to explain anything to him, she instead dropped him to his feet, hoping he could stand. She had a different place in mind...

The light of the blue moon . . . .

Damian kept his comments to himself after she spoke, just to spare her from his talk. He didn't struggle or even refuse being picked up by her, for it made letting his eyes wander easier. At some points of their little trip, Damian just felt odd. It was as if there was something that didn't seem possible, he couldn't figure out what it was, perhaps it was paranoia. Being placed upon his feet, Damian felt his knee go a little weak, but he kept himself up. He glanced to the vampire, wondering where they were going exactly.

Nice of him to purposely be quiet, but unnecessary since if she didn't have her own reason to answer, she wouldn't. Leaving him to follow or not, she began her pace down one of the many hallways that stretched away from their spot, sure to keep it slow enough for him to follow if he wanted. It wasn't as if he could go anywhere- there were nearly a hundred flights of stairs they had just come down, and to take any other path than the one she chose would leave him lost in a labyrinth where he would die but for their decision to come get him. Of course, there was a back route out, as well as a fast way up the stairs, but anyone in his condition, which she could read quite accurately, would have to have an inordinate amount of luck to find either. First things first, though. She was a host now, after all.

"Tea?" The query was imprecise, but anyone with a working brain would be able to figure it out eventually. As she walked down her hallway of choice, she snagged a remote off the wall, punching in instructions for her mini-kitchen to steep some lemon herb tea for her, then waited for his response. She still ate, like a normal person- though normal in this world tended to be a bit twisted. Not that she didn't intend to finish her main meal later, just that the scent was less apparent now, smothered by the tang of antiseptic. It went a long way in lessening her thirst.

Shedding her cloak, she tossed it at the hollow in the wall to her right, revealing a leather shirt that holstered guns, knives, and other various weapons. Coming to a complete stop, she carefully placed each weapon on its individualized rack, then removed the leather shirt itself, leaving only a lacework of black leather straps and white shirt and shorts. Grabbing a hairtie from her hollow, she turned back to Damien, then turned away and began walking again, tying up her hair as she went.
