Blood of the Drow

-... but I'm not thirsty...- Said Dariel...

After a couple of seconds watching at the girl, he decided it was better doing what she said, so he stood up and took the bottle she was giving him, and drank the whole content...

-What's this stuff, anyway?- he asked, returning the empty bottle.

Arc watched him down the liquid and caught the empty bottle with ease.

"Green tea," she answered tossing him a small grey Tupperware cup with a red screw on lid. Grinning she winked. "To make you pee."

The joke aside she checked her watch absently. "Washroom's to your left when you're ready."

Riel smiled, but said nothing as she turned back to her work of cleaning up behind Arc.

Ryet'n was a tall but relatively thin built draken-kin. His greyish brown scales glistaned dully in the pale lighting of this room as he clawed threw a shallow stack of papers, and the ridgid mane of neck quills swayed slightly in the ventelation of the air cooler.

Hey Ryet'n was it? You got my test results? Vince said as he walked into the room.

Orange eyes flicked to the voice, and with a shift, the drake slumped his weight to the desk. " Name, and what where you tested for," he spoke.

-It will take more than 30 minutes to make me pee the tea you just made me drink.- Said Dariel with a serious look on his face. stare -You should have made me drink that when we arrived... I think we should wait for tomorrow for this. Just hand me a bottle to pee in and I'll bring it back tomorrow after practice.- Said as he stood up and started to put his shirt back on.

"It takes you a half hour to digest green tea?" Arc asked raising a brow. Green tea was what she'd found one of the fastest substances to run through the body. But it didn't matter and she shrugged, as long as she got the sample it would be fine.

"Just use the container I gave you, and if I find out you just put apple juice in it so help me god..." she trailed off leaning over her desk to scribble a note, pausing briefly to brush back a strand of hair. Finishing she straightened and looked to Dariel. "So tomorrow at 5:30?" she asked, double checking that the time would be sufficient.

-The tea is water with flavor. I never go to the bathroom after drinking water. At least not for an hour or so...- Said Dariel, looking at her and trying to mantain a serious look in front of the young ryoe as he took the note. It was funny the way she quept changing her behavior. -Anyway, it's late. I'll be back tomorrow around 1730... with the bottle. Godspeed.- He said as he walked at the door, grabbing his board on the way out.

Once outside the building, Dariel took a moment to smell the air of the city.
"I hope this tests do me some good. I wonder if she would be so nice to me if she didn't need me..." He thought as he jumped upon his board. "I've lost enough time with this already. I should be home sleeping to go practice tomorrow...".

Watching Dariel leave she shook her head smiling. The drow wasn't quite so snarky once you got to know him a little. Maybe if he weren't just in it for the sake of proving to elves that he was no different or maybe better than them they might become friends. Collecting her samples she began to store them glancing at Riel for a moment.

"Hey, sorry if that made you uncomfortable," she apologized, though if it had the elven girl could have left any time she wanted. She smiled at this thought, maybe there was hope for creating a real acceptance between drow and elves. But then, Riel seemed a little more open than most elves, which was something Arc loved. Brushing her hair from her eyes she straightened and stretched.

Riel smiled as she brushed the table off and went to work sorting out the bottles to their proper place, " no problems Ark, i'm always willing to help you out."

"Do you know where the problems with the elf and drow arose?" she asked casually, wondering if amongst the elves it was common knowledge or if they just followed through on their parents actions. It was almost a human way of doing things but then all of them were a little human. A little.

Nearing the end of the clean up she decided that when they were done she'd go pick Ryet'n's brain for answers and other tests she should run for this study.

She paused in thought. " Thats the question, now isn't it," her grey eyes met Arc's. " In truth, i wasn't taught the full reason, just that something between the light and dark elves broke out in the time when humans where still alive and fighting against us, some dissagreement that risked upsetting the ballance of war and giving favor to the humans. I dont even believe it reached full heat, however the drow where outnumbered and forced to forfeit their idea. The ryoe and drakes for the most part have forgiven them, or just no longer care, but light elves are to a'kin to the drow, they took it as a personal insult, and the mistrust has never dulled."

"What a shame," Arc said softly as she opened the fridge and placed the blood vials inside. Standing she turned and leaned against the door, pressing it shut with her back.

"That the drow of today must be punished for the mistakes of the drow of yesterday, it's sad isn't it?"

" It is," she sighed. " Its mostly just the elder elves who hold mistrust. I'm confadent that with the younger generations taking lead, and the elders passing on, then this hatred will eventually be weaned off."
