Hello spam thread. It's missing something, something that makes it feel spammy.
Think Think Think
We need our discussion of cheese.

Have you ever noticed that Asian cuisine is completely lacking in milk products? Does anyone know why this is? But think about it! Who decided that it was a good idea to drink the fluids produced by a cow for the nutrition of its young? Weird... And I heard that birth control hormones come from horses.

I think the only Asian cuisine which uses dairy often is Indian. But the use of cows is probably a lot less in other parts of Asia. As a result of their lack of use of dairy, there's lots of lactose intolerance nowadays, continuing the low usage of dairy.
I don't know if all birth control hormones come from horses, but sometimes I do believe they use the urine of horses for it. Or they used to.

I am lactose intolerant too! blaugh I am really interested in the origins of products. It is often surprising and nasty. All of what I am learning is making me buy organic. I didn't know about the horse urine. I am a member of an environmental society. From them, I learned that hormones that people take artificially exit the body and go into water sources. There, the hormones affect fish and end up in our drinking water, because they cannot be filtered out properly. sad

Food can be so gross sometimes. D:
I noticed that, too. Lots of grains and vegetables, some fruits, and some meat, but very little dairy. Really odd. o.o
I totally will go to Japan someday, because I want to learn how to perform a proper Japanese tea ceremony. >3

If I ever become an English teacher over there (which is a very real possibility), then I will let you stay with me! biggrin
On a random note, how does everyone feel about having a forum in town one night? I am in the Central time zone. If we could all (or most of us) get together one night at (my house?) then we could work some stuff out rather quickly. I am sure that many of you have questions and things that you want to discuss in relation to the guild. Tell me what you think and when a good time would be for you! biggrin

Same! x33 Central Time, baby~
I'm not sure when a good time would be, though. I share this computer with multiple people, and I'd probably get lost on the way or something. XD

I'm a bit lactose intolerant, due to drinking soy/rice milk for years, and only getting dairy from cheese usually. So I can only eat a little ice cream before it's weird to me. Sadness! I've done a bunch of presentations of papers on chemicals in our water. ^^ I'm working in a pharmacy, but I'm still not sure how you should get rid of pills you're not going to use. ^^;; Meeting in towns sounds good. ^^ I am in Eastern time, and have a laptop, so provided I don't have to be up really early the next day (usually I don't have to be) that's fine for me!

I'm in Eastern time zone, not sure if I'd be able to make it to a "town conference" but I sure would try if a specific time and date were setup 3nodding
