Battle Between the Races (a vampire/phaerie/werewolf/elf rp)

Jack watched Anastasia run up to the door and grinned. "Hey, Chris get the door!" he yelled from above.
"What are you talking about I di-" Chris looked out the window to find Anastasia at the door. Chris sighed and shook her head at Jack's laziness and opened the door. "Hey! You're lucky Jack doesn't work on his homework or we would have never figured you were out here," Chris smiled warmly. "From now on, just walk in, someone will be bound to find you. But anyway, Jack is up in his room if you want to get his lazy butt up."

"Oh, hey!" Jack greeted, acting surprised to see her. He sat up in his bed, and tilted his head to the side questioningly, "What brings you here?"

Jack gave Anastasia the same warm smile Chris gave her earlier and stood up, "Well, c'mon, Chris should be making us dinner by now." Jack gently wrapped his arm around Anastasia's shoulders and lead her downstairs. "I could put that somewhere if you want. You don't have to hold it all day," Jack pointed at her bag.
Chris then came around the corner with an apron and a baking mit on, "Oh, I hope you guys like soup." Chris grinned proudly and bounded back into the kitchen.

Jack chuckled at Anastasia's reaction, "I'm glad you like it." In a very gentleman like manner Jack pulled out a chair for Anastasia at the bar-like counter. After having Anastasia seated, he pulled out the seat next to her for himself and sat down.
Chris set up two steaming bowls of "soup" as she likes to call it. "Just don't ask what's in it, and you should be fine," Chris winked and started slurping her own soup on the other side of the counter.

Jack examined Anastasia. She was abnormally thin, even for a vampire. "It looks like you haven't had any decent food for a long time. Just taste it, you'll see."

Jack shrugged and slurped down the last of his soup. Chris kept lifting her spoon and dropping the brown liquid back into the bowl. As it rushed back into the bowl, a red tint could be seen as light passed through it.
"Well, I need to start working on my homework. You could stay and we could work on it together and I could walk you home or give you a ride later," his head nodded to the motorcycle helmets on a rack next to a door that lead to the garage.

Chi lowered her gaze. "I didn't think of that. Are you sure no one else knows? I thought they gave it to everyone. It was just us?" Chi wrung her hands. It wasn't fair. She and Kirra would have to fight, but their peers wouldn't. Why? She blinked back tears and stood up. "You're right, Kirra, I'm sorry for bothering you."

"Haha, funny," Jack picked up his backpack and set it on the counter as Chris carried her bowl over to the sink and started working on the dishes.

"Peers aren't supposed to know until the war starts. Its only fair," Kirra explained. "The elders and the race leaders know about the war, but otherwise no one else does, making sure that no one knew before anyone else and had a few extra moments of training." Kirra tilted her head in confusion, "And, don't worry, you aren't bothering me. I guess not everyone thinks in the mind of an elder in their free time," she shrugged.
