I think some of the femme bots have define personality. It might not be someone you wish to befriend cuz you might be murdered in your sleep but never the less they have their personality. I think Beast Wars indicated that clearly when you compare Blackarachnia and Airrazor.

Oh thats right I had forgotten about her....She actually didn't stand out all that much in Beast Wars but she had more of her own personality in Beast Machines. I wouldn't say I like her exactly but at least she was interesting. Way more interesting than Airazor thats for sure.

Well considering Airrazor was suppose to be a guy lol it makes sense she's more "dull".

wait what? When was Airazor supposed to be a guy? They even had her as a female on her toy bio, which was out before she was introduced on the show, I believe.

I liked Blackarchnia in Beast Wars and Beast Machines and I thought Arcee had a well defined personality in the Original TF cartoon movie and the G2 cartoons.
I got the impression from the first live-action TF movie that Bumblebee might actually be feminine.

American. It was released in North America in 1995, and in Japan in 1997.

They also turned the entire series into a joke, adding goofy sound effects and various gags. If I recall correctly, Megatron shrieked like a little girl, Depth Charge was a folk singer, and Rattrap could smell what the audience was eating, and always wanted some.

And Optimus Primal occasionally asking "where is my banana?"

many people were unhappy with this dub, lol.

It wouldn't have surprised me if they had swapped Terrorsaur. He seemed a bit feminine in build, and since it's ALL about the build apparently...

Terrorsaur had boobs? o.O how come I didn't notice them! In any case we should definitely find a link to clips or something of the Jap version with subs so that we can see what is being dub over there. And we thought bootleg was crappy lol.

Transformers Wiki
Airazor's gender in the Hasbro line is due to Beast Wars story editors Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio's insistence. The original Airazor toy wasn't developed with a specific gender in mind, and Bob & Larry wanted a larger female presence in the show, and the Airazor toy seemed as good a choice as any. They requested the change early enough that the toy's packaging bio could have its pronouns changed to female (thank god). The later Transmetal version of Airazor was the first American-released Transformer mold created to represent a female character.

A lot of there info is accurate so I assume this it. It would explain why she was male in the Japanese.
