Outdoor Terrain

[Suishou Auri]

Suishou sits near the cooking fire, staring into the flames. His faint memories return bitterly for a slight moment, but a moment too long as he shows frozen sadness for a fringe of a second. He snaps out of it; He looks at the rabbit being cooked, 'He's pretty adept at preparation and cooking of these kinds of foods...He's been acting strange since we left the lair...' he thinks as he stares back at the fire.

Seeing as how the other had left, Kizu simply shrugged and jumped into a nearby tree, comfortably settling himself on a tree branch. If Suishou didn't want to be near him then, that was fine. The redhead respected privacy, so he wasn't gonna try to pry into the teen's life. Besides, Suishou could keep Sanseiu company as Kizu took first watch... it's not like it mattered much. Really.

Sanseiu grinned with pride and satisfaction, then licked his lips. That rabbit was looking really good, and it was making his mouth water. Just a few more minutes and it would be done. He was so intent on his task that he didn't even notice Suishou by him.

Yawning softly, Kizu rubbed one eye as he continued keeping watch. How boring. There wasn't anything or anyone nearby anyway, what was the point of having a lookout? " . . . " The redhead exhaled softly, crossing his arms firmly across his chest. There were times when he didn't even understand himself. And, sadly, these almost - rare times were starting to become more common as days passed.

Shaking his head gently to rid himself of these thoughts, he leaned against the tree, moving his arms behind his head. This was going to be a long night. . .

Finally! The meat was done! Using a kunai, he carefully split open some of the leg muscle to check how it was inside. Juicy and tender, although the surface was slightly charred. Sanseiu grinned satisfactorily. Taking a metal dish from his pack, he sliced off a leg onto the none-too-glamorous platter. Getting up, he made his way to where Kizu was taking his watch.

"Hey, Kizu!" he shouted as he came up the path towards the redhead. Catching Kizu's gaze, he raised the plate high for the other to see. "Food!"

Suishou looked over at Kizu, waiting to see his reaction to food being shown to him. He sighed as he struggled to stand up, making his way to the outer boundaries of the camp, resuming watch because he felt like it.  

[Nawa-chan]

Hearing his name being called, Kizu looked down at his comrade and at the plate of food that the other was holding up. Without a word, the redhead calmly jumped down from the tree branch and landed next to Sanseiu. " Ah, thanks, San - kun! " he said with a smile as he took the plate of food from the younger male. " You made it yourself, yeah? " he asked before taking a bite out of the leg. God, it tasted so good! Grinning now, he switched the plate between his hands and ruffled Sanseiu's hair with the non - food hand. " Awesome job, man! " he said. ' This has to rival Shou - kun's cooking! ' he thought to himself. Taking another bite out of the food, Kizu noticed as Suishou got up and left quietly. " . . . " Staying quiet, he swallowed and took another bite out of the leg, eating at a casual " normal people " pace.

Sanseiu laughed and gave a playfully annoyed snort as Kizu ruffled his hair, but it wasn't neat to begin with anyways. "Thanks!," he said, smoothing down one of the wild dark locks. "No cooking like pure fire." He cut off the other leg for himself and started biting into the meat, squatting next to Kizu and leaning forward to not spill any of the juices onto his clothes. He noticed Suishou leave and his eye followed the man's path through the trees.

After swallowing a mouthful he said, "What a weird guy."

Kizu gave a slight nod, taking a huge bite out of his food. " Yeah, but that's Shou - kun, eh? " he said after he swallowed. Then, grinning playfully, he motioned to himself and Sanseiu with his other hand. " We're pretty weird too, once you think about it ~. " he said in a teasing tone.

Suishou had just came back from changing his mind when he caught their words. Shruging, he makes his way around the camp again, looking out for any abnormalies, other than Kizu.

After looking after the camp for what felt like forever, Suishou decided he might as well make the best of this mission and actually try to get to know his companions. Taking a deep breath, he turned around and headed towards where San and Kizu were and sat down with them, for once by choice. As he sat he scented the food, 'Wow, he actually did pretty well, that Sanseiu...' he thought as he sat by the fire watching kizu being the complete weirdo he is.  

[Nawa-chan]

As time passed, Kizu kept rambling on to Sanseiu for the sake of having something else to do ( besides munching on the delicious food the other made ) to fill the silence in the air. Sadly, the redhead had been talking so much that he didn't notice Suishou join them until a few minutes after the other shinobi sat down. " O - Oh, Shou - kun ! " Kizu said with a small, albeit embarrassed smile. Either Kizu was really focused on trying to make conversation, or Suishou was really more ninja than he seemed to be. That wasn't fair. " Uh, what's up ? Is everything clear in the area ? " the redhead asked the other.

Suishou slightly nodded his head, "Yes, everything is all clear around us. if anyone even tried to attack us while we were here, we'd have heard them by now." Suishou looks up at Kizu, "Umm...kizu..you have a little something right there on your face," he leans close and picks off the stray food off kizu's cheek and eats it. "That's exquisite..."

"We'll probably reach the place in another two nights," said Sanseiu before biting the last piece of meat off the bone. He took a swig of water from a canteen afterwards.
