Child's Play *Open, but Still Accepting*

"Mmm it smells good." Shin joked. Peanut butter and jelly didn't really have a smell. Well, maybe the peanut butter did, but you didn't really notice it after having it for the past weeks.

Niku jumped up and hugged Shin like it was the last time he'd see him, "I love you, Shin! You're such a good friend to me!" he shouted, as his eyes started to tear up, "Don't leave me," Niku pleaded, fearing Shin would leave and be killed just like his parents. Shin was all he had left - if he was gone, Niku would have no one else. Nothing to live for.

Shin fell back and had to catch himself with his hands. Niku was crying in his shirt and freaking out. He wrapped his arms around his best friend and hugged him.

"I'm not going anywhere." He said. "Not anytime soon anyway." Shin knew Nikui was taking the death of his parents harder than he was, so it was natural for him to cling like this.

Shin patted his head and rubbed his back to try and calm him down. He whispered it was all okay, over and over.

Nikui gathered himself and wiped his face, no incredibly embarrassed, "S-sorry... I didn't mean to - uh, sorry..." Niku appologized, muttering incoherent words of how he didn't mean to freak out the way he did, and how the really should eat now.

((Lame post, I know. I'm tired too...))

"It's fine. I get it." Shin said. He completely understood why Niku freaked out.

Hr picked up one of the sandwich's and asked, "So, did you have a good sleep?"

Mattes woke up in his bed, thankful that his house wasn't destroyed or burned down... He quickly got up and dressed, walking out onto the streets. I think i should get down to looking for some more people..... maybe some other kids survived.... As he said this he walked down the street and saw a little girl leaving a garbage can. He walked over to her and said "Hello? Are you with anyone???" he asked in a panic, after realizing this little girl wasn't with anyone, and she had been sleeping in a garbage can. He waited expectantly for an answer...

Momo looked up with her green eyes questioningly. A boy, a lot older than her was talking to her. His face looked panicked, just like her mothers had the last time Momo saw her.

She peeked behind him and glanced at the destroyed buildings. Momo ignored the boy and waddled to the other side of the street.

Mattes, not wanting the little girl to run off and get lost, or be found by someone more unsavory, walked over to the little girl and held out his hand for her to take. "Hey, umm, i know you dont know me but i wont hurt you, and i have food at my place if your hungry..." He said, again keeping out his hand for her to take...

Momo turned to look at the older boy and grabbed his large hand quickly. She'd let him lead her to this "food" he spoke of.

As they walked down the street, Mattes decided to look in the nearby bomb shelter, he told the little girl to wait, and went in. When he arrived at the very back, he found a little girl wearing a "cat ears" headband. He thought she looked familiar, he'd seen her around somewhere before. "Hello?" He said..... then he remembered her name, he'd met her parents before on one occasion. "Lola? you mind coming out here, i found another girl, if you wanna come meet her, were going back to my house for a meal, i have left over supplies from the end of the war...  

[La Pixie]

Lola looked up, clinging to one of her last in-one-piece her stuffed animals. "Okay..." She climbed out and looked at the little girl. She's so tiny... Lola offered her the stuffed animal.

Vivvi streched out a little after she had gotten up that morning. She brushed her hair back and stood. She looked at herself in the piece of mirror she had in the old medic tent he claimed as hers.

Without hesitation, Momo reached up to grab the stuffed animal. She held it on her side with one arm around it; it looked as if she was choking it. She gave a small smile to this "Lola" and kept holding the older boy's hand.

Lola smiled, her heart breaking a little. It saddened her to see such a small child suffering as she and other did. "My names Lola, whats yours?" She had to curl her fingers into the bottom hem of her dress to keep from fixing the little girl's hair, she wasn't sure how she would react.

Momo observed her for a few seconds and then let go of the boy's hand and stepped over to a little clearing in the rubble. She picked up a sharp piece of metal and wrote and wrote her name all out in sloppy capital letters with large spaces.

She dropped the makeshift utensil and admired her work.

"It's fine. I get it." Shin said. He completely understood why Niku freaked out.

Hr picked up one of the sandwich's and asked, "So, did you have a good sleep?"

Nikui smiled at his friend in admiration as he sat next to him and ate, "Not really. I don't know if I'll really get used to sleeping on cement," Niku sighed exasperatedly. It really wasn't all that bad, especially since he wasn't alone. They were probably better off than some of the other kids anyways, but Niku was just a complainer like that.
