Cool! I want to go to Anime Weekend Atlanta this September with Chibi and Malomy and GalateasFire, but I don't know if I'll be able to get away that weekend, since I don't know what my work situation will be. I told them to go ahead and plan without me, since I can't really give them a for-sure answer right now.

@ E. D. You will enjoy yourself at the convention. @ Alvinette, I hope things work out so you are able to go in September.
@ Chibi, Go into the line of work that you enjoy! Just remember that starting out in anything new or different to you will have moments that cause you to pause and question your choices. Evaluate, re-evaluate, and go on. You'll do this many times in your lifetime. We each make hundreds of decisions on any given day. We just don't know at the time how much of an impact any one of those may have on our future.

I don't go to conventions. I have a cat that I cannot leave home alone for long periods of time and wouldn't have anyone to go with.

I truly think I could enjoy any line of work that lets me use my brain. I've considered be a copy editor, technical writer, or paralegal. The problem is that I can never seem to get any interviews for copy editing or technical writing jobs. I'm hoping that getting certified as a paralegal might at least get me a professional interview. I'm going to search hard for a career type job this summer, and I'll keep you posted on what happens. Of course, I would still love to make it into JET, but I'm not going to put all of my eggs into that one basket again like I did last year.

Sachie Whitby I don't go to conventions. I have a cat that I cannot leave home alone for long periods of time and wouldn't have anyone to go with. Do you not have any friends/neighbors/relatives who could feed your cat for you while you're gone? Some conventions I've been to have had this thing called, "Speed Friending." It's kind of like speed dating, but it's for people who go to cons alone to find friends to hang out with for the duration of the con. It's a pretty good idea, and might be an option if you ever can find a cat sitter. 3nodding

I don't have anyone to go to conventions with either, but the primary issues is that one of my cats is diabetic and needs insulin shots.

Sachie: Yeah, I guess that would make it a little more difficult. I really hope you can find someone to take care of them.
Chibi: Good luck on a new career. I know you love teaching. Paralegal is also a great field.
By the way, I have a good shot at making it to Kamicon next year. And I'm bringing my boyfriend!
