Dorm 806 Professor Otashi's Dorm

Eric chuckled. "Frankly, anything your wife cooks is better than school food," he said. "It'll help a lot." Yogtz watched the conversation with amusement.

In the room, Lawrence slowly woke up and heard something moving. He opened his eyes and saw namine crawling toward him. He was shocked at first, but then leaned down and hugged her.

Namine would return the hug to Lawrence, happy to be in his arms once more. She would remain silent, though clearly not in the state to move.

"I can go warm up a bowl of soup for him." Lerana volunteered. "Might help him to start off."

Lawrence smiled weakly and lapsed back into sleep.

Eric nodded. "Thank you mrs. Otashi. You've been very kind to us," he said.

Namine joined Lawrence in a slumber, mumbling in her sleep every now and again.

"You're welcome, Eric. You and Lawrence are welcome back here any time." Lerana replied, sitting down. "Please stay safe!"

Kiru chimed in, looking himself again. "You two are like sons to her in a way. Despite what you may think of an ancient wielder and a mother, we do worry about you both. Tell your parents hello. I'm sure Leopoldo will be eager to strap Yuki in a rocket."

Eric tugged at his collar. "Oh crap, did he really say that?" he said embarrassed. "Yeah, that never happened. Well, he never did it anyway. Before my town was destroyed, there was apparently some sort of tradition where young children were put on carts propelled by fireworks," he rubbed the back of his head. "My mom wouldn't allow my dad to do that thankfully,"
Yogtz doubled over laughing. "Lerana is such a powerhouse to do that kupo,"
"Don't talk about my mom like that you flying cotton swab,' Eric said glaring at Yogtz.

Lawrence coughed lightly with Namine's head on his lap.

"Well, I'm sure we can work something out." Kiru joked and set Yuki on his lap.

"You are not putting my son on a death trap!" Lerana scolded Kiru.

Eric couldn't help but smile at the banter between Kiru and Lerana. Just like back home i guess, he thought.

"You know, when he's older, he'll probably want to be doing this stuff." Kiru laughed, looking at Eric. "Maybe your father can restart that tradition again?"

Lerana walked to him and took Yuki protectively, though she was playing. "If you so much as think of having Yuki ride one of those fireworks for fun, I'll have the both of them strap you to the bottom of that thing!"

Namine would mumbled again in her sleep. "Lawrence....Flashlight in the kitchen...drawer.."

Eric looked nervously between the two parents. "As fun as it sounds, i don't approve of strapping children to hot burning firework carts. Maybe when they're teenagers. Heck, teen's would probably think of doing it themselves they're so crazy," he said. I'm tlaking myself into a corner. CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP! he thought.

Lawrence raised an eyebrow. What would she need a flashlight for? She's probably dreaming of exploring a cave or something, he thought.

"Eric!" Lerana yelled at Eric, frowning at him. "How could you possibly think of putting Yuki in that? Even whe he's your age?!"

Kiru remained silent, snickering at Eric.

"Zzzz..." Namine continued her slumber, talking again. "Get....cookies...Gotta make....cave people happy..."

Eric stood there, not being able to come up with an explanation. Yogtz silently floated by and watched the event occur. You've literally been struck silent by your own attempt at neutrality kupo, he thought.

Lawrence softly chuckled at Namine's mumblings. "How sweet," he whispered to himself.

"Let's cut Eric some slack, dear." Kiru said, standing up and ruffling his hair. "He looks like he's just been through a war now."

Peppermint ventured into Namine's room, and looked up at Lawrence laying down with him.

Eric shrugged. "In this case trying to avoid one is just as taxing," he said somewhat under his breath.

Lawrence smiled as Peppermint walked in. He softly set Namine down and walked to him. A burning pain erupted in his hand when he knelt down to pet him.

Kiru put a hand on Eric's shoulder in a fatherly way. It felt nice having somewhat of a son again. It seemed the last generation or so was full of girls.

Lerana huffed, still upset by this, but eventually walked over to Eric and gave him a hug. "I'm sorry, Eric. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that."

Peppermint seemed to enjoy the petting, rolling over on his back for Lawrence.

Eric rubbed the back of his head. "It's fine really. I'm not really bothered by it," he said as he felt Kiru's hand on his shoulder. Man, not as big as my dad's but there's still that power behind it. I should go back home and see how my folks are doing,he thought.

Lawrence smiled through the pain and continued petting Peppermint. Yogtz quietly floated into the room. The moogle was shocked to see Lawrence was awake.
