I haven't swam as much as I'd like this summer either. Went rafting a few times, that probably counts... and swam laps in the neighborhood pool. Which, I might add, is just yucky. My eyes burned the instant I hit the water! I should have camped more too, I only got out once! But I guess there's something to be said for exploring my birth city anyway. wink

Poor Scorch! crying *hugs* That's terrible! If you ever need to talk about it, we're here to listen. Or, if you would rather be distracted, we can do that too.
@Mira - I've never been camping. I think I should try that sometime. I don't dare go swimming at the YMCA's pool. With all of those kids out there, I'm guessing that there is more urine than water in the pool. xp

I think it was part of beta testing with Gaia labs. I guess enough people liked it that they made everyone have to deal with it. But, the idea is based of how you get achievements for doing random junk on the Xbox 360. I don't know what the achievements on Gaia are, but I do know that there is one that you can get if you can post a thread in Chatterbox, and not have anyone respond to it. My friends' update box was filled with people trying to get that achievement for about a week! rofl

Lol, I know where they got the idea from... it's just annoying! I really hate some of them too like the Invisibility one... -.- srsly, posting in the chatterbox and expecting 0 replies in 24 hours? Improbable!

But, it is possible! Some of my friends actually got that achievement. I have no intention of going after achievements. If I get one for something random I do, great! But, I don't plan on spamming Chatterbox.

Oh Scorch, that's so terrible, I'm so sorry! Heartbreak ******** sucks. We haven't met but I've been going through some s**t myself, so if you need a pair of eyes to listen, I'm here as well. (Wow Mira, way to throw down the Fbomb and follow it up with another 4-letter word! It's part of my vocabulary though, and we're all adults here right?)
As for me... I have an announcement! Someone whose name starts with M and ends with A has a JOB INTERVIEW TOMORROW! I'm so stoked! If I hadn't screwed up with my first date, I would be having a really great day.

Congrats Mira! heart What kind of job are you interviewing for?
I've had rotten luck finding a job where I can use my English degree, so I'm going to become a substitute teacher for a while. I know I swore that I would never go back to teaching, but it can't be that bad if I'm not teaching little kids, right? sweatdrop Actually, now that I think about it, writing those lesson plans made me sicker than anything. At least subs don't have to write them.

Thanks Chibs! The interview went great, Ellen really liked me. She said I'm "first on her list" for new hires. Although, just like the last time I got interviewed (and got the job), there was someone ahead of me that she had already hired. So apparently she is going to look at the schedule and try to figure out how to squeeze me in. I'm supposed to hear from her in the next five days so... FINGERS CROSSED! I want full time really bad! The job is working with fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices. It's a great little place that is family owned and is perfectly up my alley, especially being vegetarian. XD
I'm sorry to hear the english degree isn't working out for you. But if you can find any kind of work, it's an improvement right? And young kids are always more fun than their teenage/angsty counterparts! Maybe you just need to find the right environment in order to really get into teaching. I'm rooting for ya! wink

Thanks for the encouragement! I hope that everything works out well with your job too! heart
I'm actually wanting to work with middle and high school kids instead of elementary kids. You see, I used to be an elementary education major, and it was terrible! I couldn't get control of the little barbarians. xp At least in the higher grades, I won't have to deal with one class longer than an hour. I might have better luck in the higher grades. At least you can reason with angsty teens better than you can little kids.

Yeah, whatever doesn't kills you makes you stronger, or so they say.
I hope we get lots of people at this event that's coming up. I'm really excited about having so much crew participation. whee
