This rain that we're getting is insane. There is some serious flash flooding. Our garage was getting flooded, so I just went and saved the books on the lower shelves in the garage. I took some pictures. The top one is my backyard. The bottom one is my front yard.

Good gracious! I hope it doesn't get any higher!
That's a beautiful area where you live as well! smile
How bad is the flooding getting? I remember you mentioned them closing roads.

I hope all is well and you aren't stuck indoors for too long! but when I seen this pic I could picture you in a hollowed out tree, with a stick for a pole pushing yourself through the water with a piece of wheat(or w/e it is) hanging out of your mouth....that would be fun. But seriously, be careful! There have been many people that have gotten stuck or washed away because they dont realize how strong the current can be in areas that aren't that deep.

Most of the flooding has gone away by now, but we're supposed to get some more rain tonight. I just hope that there isn't anymore flooding. Thankfully, the only damages that we had were a little water in the garage and a missing door mat. I guess it got washed away. It's no wonder. Our driveway was like a river. Anyway, I'm luckier than a friend of my brother's. Her fence got swept away. sweatdrop (But then again, she lives next to a creek.)

Zellie Is anyone doing the fb version of aquarium? I don't do facebook. xp I really don't want everyone in the world (especially the people who know me) seeing everything I say and do. I like how I can be myself on Gaia without any social repercussions in real life. 3nodding

I don't play any games or anything like that on either site; I just send messages and leave comments. All my "e-friends" on both sites are people I know in real life, and I'm veeerrrrrrrrrrry careful about what I post on those sites because I know that employers look at potential employees' profiles. I don't want my future to be ruined because of a few stupid Internet posts. burning_eyes This is also why I don't even say the word "Gaia" on my Facebook and MySpace accounts. I don't want potential employers looking at all my Gaia stuff and then deciding I'm not hiring material. sweatdrop For me, Gaia is like Vegas: What happens here STAYS here!

Seriously, if you change that setting on your account preferences, no one you know irl can find you. I made it so no one irl can find me. No offense to some people, but there are some anime fans I know irl (that have very likely tried or will try Gaia) who I would rather not associate with if I had the choice. <_<

The entire backyard was under water for a while, so now it is really green out there. xd The front yard wasn't submerged, so it just has splotches of green. But you saw the green house across the street from me in the picture. The guy who lives there now has a really green lawn. blaugh
As far as I can tell, only two bad things came from the flooding. 1) We lost the heavy rubber doormat that we had next to the door between the garage doors. 2) Our garage flooded (only about an inch), but it managed to soak a bunch of stuff, and now the garage smells awful because the stuff soured. We had several rugs and stuff out there because it doubles as our laundry room. We tried washing some of the rugs, but it still stinks. xp

O.o... Your place reminds me of the victim's house in the movie "Red Dragon" (movie with Hannibal Lecter in it).
Unrelated: One day of finals examinations left! Woot!

Actually, the house you see in the picture is the one across the street from me. I was standing on my front porch. 3nodding
Congrats on being almost done with your finals. I still have another month and a half to go. I'm graduating on May 8th. whee
I'm going to be at Momocon in Atlanta on Saturday. heart
