Note: This storyline follows something more like the movies. Characters like Rogue, Iceman, Shadowcat, Colossus, etc, are young, seniors at most. Jean, Xavier, and Scott are all still alive though, screw the third movie. We'll say all the phoenix stuff happened, sure, even the cure scare (which we'll also say has worn off entirely), but everything worked out great for everyone in the end.
It's the Spring of 2012. It has been a somewhat peaceful season for mutants. Erik Lehnsherr has gone missing, and Charles Xavier's activism has been holding it's ground and succeeding so far. His school has been flourishing. A place for young mutants to lead a normal life without any discrimination for simply being different. The old X-men are just teachers now, and the new students are now learning to lead the new generation.
Which means you can roleplay a student still at the school, an 18+ mutant that lives at the institute, one of the teachers, one of the Brotherhood, a human, whatever. (Obviously we do need a balance between students/others and x-men, so not everyone can be an x-man)
As far as the brotherhood goes, there's obviously no students and no age minimum for their group, so just make a character.
Spring break is nearly over at the school, and students are starting to come back for the last stretch of the semester.
I may expand this to be not inclusively x-men, meaning not just marvel or dc either. but I haven't decided that yet, as in I'm unsure if I'll open it up to OC characters(which will still have to be approved)

Rules:
1. no cybering. keep it pg-18. Romance is encouraged, but keep to the TOS
2. no OOC flaming
3. Your character picture must be of a real person. Celebrities are fine, think of it as that celebrity being chosen to play your character haha
4. keep out of character conversations to a minimum, and use (())
5. NO GOD-MODDING
6. I will monitor powers, we can't have a hundred people with peter petrelli's power
7. At least try to be literate. No *walks to the door*. Use "quotation marks" for speech and italics for thought.
8. No bumping
9. No page stretching
10. Please put "Scott Summers is a pretty little girl" as the subject for all character applications
11. Add some effect to your posting style. Add your characters name or picture.
12. Please make sure your picture size is the equivalent to "Medium" on photobucket, something close to 320x240.
13. I constantly mess around with my posting format, just in case you're all "wtf?"
16. I'm constantly changing and adding rules, so check them regularly.
17. Please don't be offended if I tell you to change your power, I want things to be even.
18. No quoting
19. No adamantium in your character's body or as a weapon
20. You may have as many original characters as you'd like, but only two canon characters.
21. It's tedious, but read as many previous posts as you can
22. Keep physical traits realistic. I noticed in my last X-men rp we had, for example, a lot of gay characters and a lot of girls above 5'8", neither of which are honestly very likely to come in such large quantities.
