yEAR; 2457**one century after WW III

bACKGROUND; This year marks the first century of living without war. One century ago, the world was at war with itself. Nukes flew everywhere, destroying over half of Earth's population. In a final strike to end the war, the former U.S. launched fifty-three more bombs to target the other weapons and central cities. The attack followed through, and the war ended, leaving humanity decimated and destined to never be the same. After all, the world was smothered in radiation that altered us in the roots of our DNA, showing up in the second generation that sprung up. And now everything once thought impossible is now very, very possible.

nOW; Humanity has organized itself back to some semblance of governed civilization. While the rogue factor is still prevalent, towns have begun to reform and protect themselves from outsiders- walled cities are most common. It's still not a hospitable world.

aND AS FOR THE PEOPLE; Nearly everyone of this second generation has been born with a mutilation (or so we think of it) of some sort, the rare few seemingly not changed very, very proud of that fact- and willing to lord it over the others. Anything is possible, in this day and time- no true species emerge, but everything once thought myth is now seen wherever you go. Whether capable of mindspeech or in need of blood to live, perhaps even what was once called elfin, everyone is unique. Not to say that those with similar aspects don't stick together- all humanity, or what is left, has to or else find themselves lepers of society, unable to survive without support. Aside from the hardy few, that is- and that's without having people attack you for no real reason other than fear borne of rumor.

oUR CITY; This is just in Vergendaϊl, so far the most hostile city formed. It protects itself from everything around, and internally has coalitions vying for power.

wOULDN'T WANT TO FORGET OUR COALITIONS; Well. The factions that our beloved and very paranoid city has split itself into. There are the three main factions, constantly battling for power- Midnight Moonlight, vampire faction, Protectors of Night, werewolf faction, and Daylight Prevailing, human faction. There are, of course, many more, and there are also those who choose not to ally themselves. But most are within these coalitions. And all three take in humans, though are mainly their given type.

sO WHAT'S THE SCOOP?; For the (perhaps not so) average person, life is difficult, untrusting, new, and so, so, worth it- for the optimistic few who pay attention to the wonders around them.
Perhaps not too amazingly, suicide rate is a bit higher than it once was.

hATE 'EM, DONCHA?; But hey, every RP needs 'em, so they're here.

pROFILES; You PM them to me. Pretty simple. Just fill out the form, and you're good to go. Not quite down to monkey simple, but pretty damn close. And just so I know you read this, title it "Again" and put a dramallama at the bottom of the PM.

lITERACY; I fully expect ALL posts to be at least semi-literate. In recognization of the fact that not all roleplayers are capable of literate RPing, I have constantly maintained the semi-literate rule. However, you must be aware that semi-literate always consists of at least three sentences, requires at least B-grade grammar and spelling (meaning that while I'll let the occasional mistake go, misspelled words every sentence and pointless grammatical mistakes that make it difficult to read are not allowed), and must either fully introduce your character or properly respond to other posts. I suggest that you not join this RP if you believe you cannot adhere to this, though I am willing to try to help out wherever possible. I also suggest you make sure you have carefully read all posts you need to respond to. I am willing to edit posts if asked to.

pOST STYLE; There are three things I expect from a post: a color, size nine (9) font, and a character picture. More is always amazingly good. Symbols are nice as well. I am willing to make a post style for you, just ask. Make sure that you are consistent with the style.

lOVEY DOVEY STUFF; You know, where we don't want you taking it too far? I like romances, considering I haven't lost all my female genes just yet, but sometimes we really, really don't need to know. So the rule of thumb is PG-16. And please, please don't stretch this one. You will get blacklisted.

lANGUAGE; Yep, the cussing. I don't mind it occasionally. It's a part of what makes us human, or whatever we are, to show our annoyance, our disregard, our general hate at whatever situation we're in. But we don't need to cuss every other word. This is a rule you have slight leniency on. I warn you, and the second time, you're gone.

rESPECT; They made a song about that, you know. But that's beside the point. Now, there are a couple of things that belong here. One, you must know that our characters are NOT us. They are what we want them to be. And if they're doing their best to piss your character off, live with it. It's part of the drama. It's not directed at you. Second, respect other players. Your puppet may be rude as hell, but that's not an excuse for you to be rude to people. Again, two chances. Warning and gone.

gODMODDING; Just no. Two chances.

cHARACTERS; The number, specifically. Well...I'll limit it to two. I don't want this RP to overflow as some have. However, I am willing to make exceptions in some cases. Ask me, give me a reason, and you might get more. And sometimes there's just a player that needs playing and I'll ask you to do it.

tIME LAPSE; It you're off and people get ahead of you, deal with it. We aren't obligated to wait.

oUT OF CHARACTER; The OoC. I prefer it if you carry on conversations in the OoC thread, but if you want to use OoC here make sure it is designated. For example, use [] or (())

tHE USUAL; Well, that would naturally be the Rules and ToS. As well as the amazingly customary "Have fun!" I hate that one. After all, some of us are here to manipulate the minds of others, not lollygag and frolick like happy bunnies.

aND THE SUPREME RULER DEAL; Yep, you got it. I am the supreme overlord, head honcho, god, whatever you may want to call it, of this thread. And while I bow to guild rules, I retain my right to kick anyone out of this roleplay. And I can change rules as I see fit.
