The god’s of Viratra once had a war that was said to have shook the lands.

The trickster goddess Meika, under the guise of the moon, had stolen her brother Gelder’s mantle; and for this mantle, this petty conflict, an ocean of blood was shed.

The followers of these two titans formed vast armies and waged unadulterated war against one another. Brothers slayed each other in the fields, and families were split to pieces. Kingdoms were destroyed and a countless number of innocents were killed. Despite the pain, the chaos… the gods continued their war.

As the conflict entered it’s tenth year, Gelder tipped the scales. His human followers couldn’t keep up with Meika’s supernatural henchmen; so why not give them a boost? And so the arrogant god created a weapon that is still unmatched to this day.

The Gelder stone. A stone containing raw power, that granted abilities to any human who had received it. The source of it’s power was an entity, locked away inside of it, waiting to be released. These entities served their human partners as companions, mentors, guardians, and allies - along side their stone holders they charged into battle, slaying any enemy they laid eyes upon. Gelder created an unimaginable amount of these stones, and dropped them all over the surface of this world.

The war quickly came to an end, as Gelder’s army came up triumphant. Across the land people chose him as their patron god, and the arrogant being soon found his powers increasing the more people worshiped him. Temples were built from coast to coast, and the he quickly became the strongest amongst the gods.

The case was not as such for Meika. Meika’s temples were burnt to the ground, with her priestesses trapped inside. People gradually began to think less and less of her, and her powers disappeared… eventually, as it is said, she faded into oblivion itself.

To this day, Gelder stones are still being found all over the world. The people who find them often times don’t know what to do with them, and their power goes to waste - or it gets used for the wrong purpose. Holders were often out casted as witches, the natural followers of Meika, by uneducated villagers. Vigilantes did their best to court martial them.

Gelder college was erected as a sanctuary for these holders, a place they could learn to use their stones in safety… and hopefully teach the people the significance of them.
