Do you like Mystery Science Theater 3000? We do! Are you also aware of the MST3K spinoffs-- Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic? MST3K LIVES ON!

〜★〜★〜 ABOUT THIS GUILD 〜★〜★〜

I'm aware there is already a MST3K guild on Gaia, and I'd like to join them as well if they will approve my membership request. But given there are a bajillion Final Fantasy guilds, I think there is room for a second MST3K guild as well! biggrin

Possible activities and events to watch the skies for:
1. Join us for weekly movie viewings in the Video Lounge
2. Post your fan art
3. Discuss your favorite movies and riffed movies, or anything else in pop culture.
4. Share pictures from any riffing-related live shows you've been to.
5. Maybe we'll have fan art contests.

Whatever you want to do. Because you're weird, and that results in creativity!

Rules:

1. Follow all Gaia rules and TOS.

2. Be nice! Making each other laugh is so much more fun than fighting over whether Joel or Mike is cooler. They're both amazing and wonderful, funny people.

〜★〜★〜 ABOUT THE SHOW(S) 〜★〜★〜

Y'all already know about Mystery Science Theater, right? Little cowtown puppet show with the guy and two robots in the lower right corner of the screen making fun of cheesy movies? This guild is for fandom of that TV show, and the following two internet-based shows

Joel Hodgson's new project is Cinematic Titanic (http//cinematictitanic.com), which is both a LIVE show and DVD releases of Joel riffing with Trace Beaulieu (Crow/Dr. F), TV's Frank Conniff, Mary Jo Pehl (Pear Forrester), and J. Elvis Weinstein (the original Tom Servo). With silhouettes but minus the robots, it's the most fun you can have at a comedy show or movie viewing. Even on DVD, it's like the old gang is back together again.

Mike Nelson's Rifftrax (http//rifftrax.com) releases mp3 commentaries of riffs on movies you obtain elsewhere, including good movies like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings as well as awful ones like The Wicker Man or Glitter. You play the mp3 while watching the movie, and the mp3 instructs you on syncing it with the movie so you can enjoy hearing Mike, Kevin Murphy (2nd Tom Servo), and Bill Corbett (2nd Crow) riff.
