    The guild is set to Public, which means that any Gaian can create new topics or posts inside our forums.

    If you want to receive, via guild announcement, the latest updates on guild events, or if you want to track our progress in preparing for Gaia Spirit Week 2k17, consider joining our guild as a member! It's free and all join requests are automatically accepted.

    If you want to help us prepare for and manage Gaia Spirit Week 2k17, consider applying to our Crew! We would love to have you onboard.

    About the Movement

    The Gaia Guild Movement was founded with the hope that we could get together and cause some improvements to the Gaia Guild Network, or GGN: both in the community and the code.

    The mission of the Gaia Guild Movement are to improve the GGN by:

    • Bringing its members together as a community,
    • Providing support for guild owners and crew,
    • Offering education about guilds and their management,
    • Encouraging cooperation between guilds,
    • Rewarding quality guilds and active members,
    • Celebrating guild pride and all that we have to offer,
    • And making the best of what we've got!


    Proposals For Change

    Guild Culture

    Guild software isn't the primary issue: guild culture is. Even if we were to get all the features ever requested, it wouldn't solve all of our problems. We need to:

    • Unite behind a common mission of comradery and dynamism,
    • Work together as partners to help all of our guilds thrive,
    • Improve our attitudes and engage respectfully with each other, other Gaia community members, and developers,
    • Become active, involved, and dedicated rather than moving from one failed guild to start another,
    • And give back to the broader Gaian community instead of closing ourselves off from it.


    Code Updates

    Regardless, it would be nice to see updates to the GGN, including the following suggestions:

    • Update guild forums to resemble public ones
    • Fix problems in the BBC code
    • Update guild subforum appearance and functions
    • Update guild membership functions
    • Update and expand guild searches
