Music is a way of expressing feelings and views. Everyone has a right to listen to what they want, whether it be rock, rap, country, techno, or something else entirely. But because of opinions and tastes, people are often discriminated because of a band or song they like. It's more common to see this conflict between two different genres, but it also happens in one genre between bands and artists.
"One likes to believe in the freedom of music" were the words wrote by Neil Peart of Rush off of the album Permanent Waves. In the song "The Spirit of Radio", this statement is made and has become a part of music ever since. Music is a free form of entertainment. While it's fine to have friendly debates, when they turn violent and spawn grudges and issues, then it becomes unnacceptable.
The Freedom of Music Guild is a safe haven for all people who enjoy music. Whether you listen to rock, country, rap, or something else, you are welcome here. In this guild there is no need for hiding what artist or song you like. You're free to express it here. Everyone's views are accepted here.
