REASON (2)
Tinierme has been promoting illegal gambling. Users that are about under the age of 14 were using money to try to win items. And on top of that, G-coins only lasted up to a year. When users found out the stuff they had payed for had disappeared, most were very unhappy. The Roulette was probably the worst of them all.

Doesn't Gaia promote gambling too? They have slots and blackjack with their virtual currency.

Not only that, they also have random item generators (RIG) for real cash. You pay and you may or may not get an expensive item or just complete trash.

I was waiting for someone to ask this.
Technically, the real illegal part was the the fact that younger users were using it and Parent's were outraged, at least in the Japanese version. Tinierme was made for younger users, honestly, while Gaia is PG-13 content. If you check out Tinierme's rules, it states that anything close to PG-13 is prohibited. Gaia isn't all about slots and blackjack and on top of that, you don't HAVE to purchase anything to use those features. They are technically free. Gold here is a free virtual currency. G-Coins were not. So users were using real money to try and win things. They were forcing people to pay in to get something.
If you want a (RIG) you can technically buy them for gold (which I remind you is a free virtual currency) from the market place. You can't don't have to pay in any money for them, unless you chose so.

Knight of Britannia

Yeah that probably was. I kinda of doubt it was a scam though.
They were just trying to catch up to Japan's prices, because they were just a mirror site of the Japanese version and needed to keep up. There are tons of screen shots and even proof of it.
But I could be wrong. -shrugs-

I don't really think it was a scam either. I think they were just fairly desperate, and it didn't work out. I was among the users who were pretty outraged, but I still understood that this had probably been a long time coming, and I could either get out while I had the chance or just deal with it. TinierMe made that decision for me, I guess. lol

TinierMe I think was just a badly run site honestly. The Japanese version is still thriving though.
Same here, I stayed with them for as long as I could.

Although it was beta, i kinda liked it. What the developers should do is improve the site a bit & bring it back.

Hahaha. That's kinda Tinierme in a nutshell. Trolls and 14 year old girls all in a mix.
I'll try to see if it's still in creation. I just liked reading it because they had a lot of behind the scenes info. Most of it was just butthurt rantings. But every once in a while there was something interesting. I think that, that blog was also another reason why the Nameless Society in Tinierme became more popular. Because no one really gave a crap anymore. Along with all the masked members.

Why wouldn't people troll such a dumb site. I wasn't on there for long before I got banned so I'm not too familiar with how the community/mods are. But with unsubscribing to the email list being a bannable offense, I think they're being stupid.

I would agree. And I think the reason JPTM did and has been doing so well is because the user base is not only different, but the site has far more stability. I joined it briefly, just to see what it was like, and even with the language barrier, I had way more to keep me entertained. There are tons of games, the items are far nicer (though yes, it's quite expensive, but the items that were free were far nicer than what TinierMe offered), and it just feels more like a real online community and fun place to be. TinierMe had its perks to be sure, but there was just so much more they could have done. I stayed for as long as I did in the hopes that we would see that stability, and that reason to keep coming that didn't involve just mindlessly spinning gachas.

That will never happen. Unless a whole new company picks it up.

Yeah there weren't that many mods to begin with and none of them really even communicated back with the community. They never were there for events, or anything.
Instead, they were kinda just like bots. Heck, the sponsors were more active than the mods were. The mods even asked that you not contact them on their profiles. And on top of that, you were forced to friend their "annoyingly cheerful mascot bot", who liked to update you on things that really didn't matter, five times a day. You couldn't unfriend or even block her.
There were some really bad bannings, that they've done. Like if someone came in a room and decided to gift people, they were instant perm banned. If someone wanted to make their profile look cool and put some advanced html into it, they were perm banned. If someone was even reported enough, regardless of what they said in defense, perm banned or frozen for a while. If you made an artshop and used it to get items in exchange for your art, you were banned. They also said you could have as many accounts as you wanted (because people obviously asked if they could have mules.) and then they were frozen for having multiple accounts. I had like 20 accounts and was never banned or frozen.
-----Edit
Nevermind, I just tried to log onto my account just to check out the site for a bit and I was frozen for my payments being failed or reversed I guess. Which is weird because I haven't been on the site for over two months and I have a debt card which can only use what I own and I can't over draw since that's not in my plan. I guess they must be upset because I was no longer paying into their monthly G-Coin Special Buyer Program. -shrugs-

The thing I liked most about Tinierme, that is was honestly different from most 2D dress up pixel games. I loved all the sponsor ideas as well, as I'm a pretty big cosplayer. And the gacha part pulled me in the most, because it was cool to see that you couldn't just "buy" an item. You had to win it, actually put some effort into it, either by spinning and crossing your fingers, or by collecting certain items. Money wasn't really too much of a indicated of whether or not you were rich. Heck, if you even played a gacha once, you could get a rare item. Your richness was mostly depended on your luck. Alchemy was my absolute favorite. Hahaha, I never had any doubles of anything.

Isn't it kind of like Gaia is laughing at the site by making a hottopics thread for a rival avatar sites death?

No I think its more to let the community at a whole know what happened (I was never a TM member but I find this very interesting) And also, its a great place to come and regroup with your old friends or just talk about the situation.

From my understanding, people were frauded out of a LOT of money over this. They need a place to talk about it.

"Frauded"? I don't think so. Tinierme was just a badly run "beta" site. Never once was the site actually taken out of beta. Plus it clearly stated in the joining rules that at any time they had a right to just shut down without warning and they were not responsible for any returns. And Tinierme's original close date was for November, but they're pushed it back a whole month for users to still use the site and discuss what's going on and talk about all the money they are, or are going to loose. Right now, I'm pretty sure no one is playing the Gachas so they're making zero profit from doing this.
This is just another way in which, Tinierme, is owning up to it's responsibility to it's members.

There is no way TM banned because people unsubscribed to the newsletter- I did agggess ago, and never got banned. It was probably another reasons, since TM were never really good at explaining why they did stuff (ie-jack up prices, why they're closing down)

If you choose not to believe it, that's fine.

Doesn't make it any less true.
Hi everyone im a loyal tinier me user. and i joined when the site originally opened. and just so you all know the English site was more free for c-coins. the Japanese site EVERYTHING is GC. only thing u can use CC for is the CC gatcha which sucks^^" but part of the reason tm English is closing down is that they made the game cards only available to AMERICAN users. everyone else on that site that wasent American was screwed and couldn't get them.im Canadian i would know. they also raised prices because of either popular demand or because they needed more money to keep the site running. it costs a lot to keep a website on its feet. but reading a bunch of your comments your all dissing it. the site was amazing it allowed players to meet new people and gain friends. hell for some people tinier me was a place were they felt accepted after being bullied off of every other site. so why don't the haters shut up and quit hating and the trolls can go troll elsewhere.
Loveless-and-Beautiful

I was never on TM, but I can say that didn't look like hate to me. They are just talking about their experiences of the site, and how it came to a close. So I would suggest you not to assume, nor judge just because you don't believe things that happened to people.

I am not trying to cause a fight if that is what you are thinking, I am just saying what I read. And yes, I read everyone's posts.
