I was excited to give this a try when I saw the staff alert but I'm getting a permission error. =/ It would have been nice if they had mentioned that not everyone can try it right away.

yet another example of how gaia blew it first they cut down the payments on switchem and now they dont allow everyone to try out the avi builder
whats funny is my mule that was also created the same day can get in so im not sure how there figuring this out

*shrugs* Not sure. It just just says that their slowly allowing gaians to try it and to try again later. Meanwhile I guess the only thing you can do is keep trying and hope to have access to it but I don't want to be clicking to the button guessing when that would be.

I'm using a windows 8 OS and google chrome browser

they disabled it for a bit guys! bc the feature is getting so much traffic, i think they're trying to figure out how to reduce its effect on the site. dw biggrin

anyway, for my question... where is the Allow/Disable Ghosting option?

Need information on how to use the avatar builder? We'll help you through it!

What is the avatar builder?
The avatar builder is a feature on Gaia Online that allows you to create your own custom avatar using any item on Gaia Online. You can use this feature to see how many different item combinations you can come up with, plan your next avatar, or anything avatar related! Create your own customized avatar experience!

How do I access the avatar builder?
You can currently access the avatar builder here. You can also access it under the "My Gaia" drop down.

How do I use the avatar builder?
Using the avatar builder is simple!

• First, access the avatar builder here.
  
• After you access the avatar builder, you will notice that your current avatar shows up. From here you can either customize your current avatar, or start with a default avatar by hitting "Get Naked."
  
• You can select a new avatar base by clicking on any of the bases under "Select base." You can choose from over 50 avatar bases!
  
• To select an item to add to your avatar, simply search for an item under the "Search items" section. There are over 100,000 items to search up and each time a new item is added to Gaia, it will be available to be used in the avatar builder!
  
• Made a mistake? Simply hit the undo button to revert the last change you made!
  
• Want to see what your avatar might look like with the opposite gender base? Simple select "opposite gender" to view both male and female avatars at the same time!
  
• Want to dress a friend's avatar using their inventory? Click "Ghost?" and enter in their user ID. As long as they have the "Allow ghosting" setting check, you can work with their avatar and inventory! Be sure to select "Inventory" in the "Search items" drop down (not Inventory(DB))
  
• Want an idea of how much your avatar might cost? Click "View equipped market data" to get an estimated cost of the avatar.
  
• Finally, want to save your completed avatar? Hit "save image" to save the avatar you created!

it might not hurt to have a video tutorial or a better guide to explain this the faq guide is so short and small that it dont really explain as much as it should plus in some cases when you hit get naked and then save it well it still kicks your own avis clothes off so im not sure how that works
plus with everything on that ran together with people of other languages where english was not their primary language it's sometimes hard to tell where one of your ideas end and another idea starts
this is also true of anyone on here who has trouble with comprehension due to any disorder of the mind
please consider some of these ideas so that the avi builder might work better an example of a section that needs to be redone is here even though i'm doing it for anyone here
you also have too many exclamation marks in here, i'm not sure what that's all about but its excessive so i removed them in my redone version
and instead of drop down being labeled DB it should be labeled DD or DDM (drop down or drop down menu)

Hey I found an item in the Avatar Builder that doesn't seem to have been released yet- can't search for it in the Marketplace, can't add it to my wish list, no mention of it in forums anywhere ect.

I'm not sure where to go to make a suggestion but I think you should add a color tab for item search to help narrow down the searches even more when looking for an item. Also, I think you should add an area where you see the item's icon that you just added on to your avatar; that way you don't have to go searching for it again to get the name if you want to buy it or to get rid of it if it doesn't look good on your avatar.

I've been looking up items on Avatar Builder to improve my cosplays, and every once in a while, I'll stumble across something great! I'll look up the market data, though, and there won't be anything real on the listing.

Examples:
Circuit Head Tattoos (this one's purple, but there are other colors, too)
Decker's Special Sidearm
Flintlock Gunblade (this is the ivory one, but there are others in other colors, too)

These items are perfect, and I'm sure there are other hidden gems just like this throughout Avatar builder. Are these test items, like the Black Tonfa used to be, or are these legit items that haven't been officially released yet?
