I agree, I don't think it is necessarily Gaia's fault. Glitches might be a possibility, too. Though, it is wise to take extra precaution (as with anything online) to protect your financial information and computer. Install a reputable ad-blocker/anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, etc. Creating strong passwords and changing them regularly.

However, that thread was posted from 2009 and with the way technology moves, I am unsure if it is outdated. Regardless, it has a lot of fantastic tips and explains how these things can happen.
Likewise, and I am from the US. Just found it odd the charges were processed (not purchased) all on the same day. That is what initially alarmed me.. After comparing Paypal's statements with my bank, everything was kosher.
Do feel bad for those who have been experiencing issues, though.
