My "current" profile theme won't let me change anything.

stare kk~* I just had the background problem with my profile,like 10 minutes ago. xp

I was so frustrated,how it always went back to the theme background when I saved it,it looks like it's a problem with photobucket. Really what I did was I saved the photobucket image and uploaded it into tinypic.

Took the url from tinypic.com, placed it as my background,and saved worked. smile Hope this helps for some.

I agree. Mine is acting up as well. I might email the gaia staff or whatever to see what they can do because I'm almost 100% sure I'm not stupid. I've done this before and this is annoying. I shouldn't have tried to fix my profile. I should have left it how it was. This sucks.

Profile > Edit mode > Themes > Select some default > Save | Edit mode > Themes > CSS > Click update > Save

There's also another way, if you go to the URL tab in the themes option and type 'none'. That's equivalent. Just need to reset/clear the pre-set CSS that is included.
