Trump Official Declaring 'Anyone Who Preaches Hate for America' Will Be Deported Worries Users: 'They Just Skip the First Amendment'

Source

Quote:
Top Trump official Stephen Miller's recent declaration that anyone who "preaches hate for America" will face deportation has ignited alarm online, with critics warning the statement disregards First Amendment protections.

The controversy began during a Monday morning appearance from the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy on Fox News. Miller was defending the deportation of a Salvadoran national alleged to be involved in gang activity, as well as the pending removal of Mahmoud Khalil, a protester accused of supporting Hamas.

While Miller discussed a federal judge's authorization to deport Khalil, and the online debate that followed quickly turned toward broader implications for dissent and political expression.

In response to questioning by Fox anchor Bill Hemmer, Miller asserted that Khalil would be and went on to claim that everyone else who preached hate towards the country would also be at risk.

"Yes he will, as will anyone who preaches hate for America," Miller said. "Under this country, under this administration, under President Trump, people who hate America, who threaten our citizens, who rape, who murder, and who support those who rape and murder are going to be ejected from this country."

Miller tied this rhetoric to a broader Trump administration stance that individuals who commit violent acts—or who express support for those who do—will be removed from the country. However, his sweeping language about deporting individuals for anti-American speech quickly drew intense criticism.

Social media users and legal analysts raised immediate concerns, pointing out that expressing dissent or criticism of the government is protected under the First Amendment. Some worried the administration was veering into authoritarian territory.

"It's almost like they just skip the very first Amendment," one X user commented.

"They're coming for free speech when it isn't the speech that fits their propaganda. Talk about a totalitarian regime," another user added, while another pointed out that "Democracy doesn't work like that."

The backlash has reignited broader debates over the limits of free speech, especially as civil liberties fall under scrutiny. While immigration enforcement remains a core theme of President Donald Trump's platform, critics are increasingly questioning whether rhetoric like Miller's is a precursor to more aggressive suppression of dissent.

You do realize with all the accusations going around and the possible interpretations of these things that can be applied, there is a very wide range of people that could just get deported like that, right? People who support Rittenhouse or Mangione can both be accused of supporting murder depending on their political stance. For rape Donald Trump himself has been accused, and for supporting rape you would need to deport all of the incels. And then deporting people for hating America, that's practically everyone since the government has mismanaged the country so badly. The only people left are going to be children who have not yet developed political ideas.

No I want people who are here on greencard who support HAMAS and illegally protest against America on college campuses to have their greencards revoked and be sent back to their home country, to the very same countries who's government would have them killed for voicing a similar protest.

There are ways to legally protest. These lunatics occupying college campuses and shutting down buildings because they're barricading the doors and disrupting classes? Yes. They should be deported if they're here on a student VISA. You hate this country yet you're being allowed to have an education, some on MY taxpayer money via government scholarship?

I've said in other threads, but if these people hate America so much, why don't they leave? Because they can do things here they can't in their own country, like eat, get a job and education, and protest. America is SO BAD that they had to come here to get all the things they couldn't in their own country and STILL COMPLAIN. Why is America the only country you hear immigrants complain about? Well, Western countries, in general. If I went to Vietnam, or Japan, or China, or Iraq, and complained about the government or local laws/government? I'd be deported, arrested, or killed.
The circus it now playing "Survivor" with a gigantic " island " and kicking people off who play the game poorly and kick them off the " island ".........hmmm.

Which is kind of the point to the news report. That right, that freedom, is being stripped away.

I have lived in Vietnam, and the majority of people do not have this WW2 mentality that dissent towards the government is unacceptable or some kind of personal defect. There are liberals in the Vietnamese government trying to pass western-style legislation. The CIA works to support pro-South Vietnamese organizations to try and destabilize the government and they don't even get as harsh treatment as black citizens of America for similar crimes. I doubt anyone will watch it, but I am going to link a video that goes more into depth about it. Vietnamese people aren't being killed and disappeared by their police like people here are.

I went on a tangent, but honestly immigrants have valid reasons to complain. The regime is sending people to a prison in El Salvador full of gangs because they are the wrong color in the eyes of the government. This is the American equivalent of gulags. Why is the biggest issue about people protesting and not the actions of the government?

I know it's ALLOWED but it's ironic, isn't it? It's like going to a restaurant, eating the entire meal and saying "this was disgusting I won't pay for it." But like I said, its the ones that aren't protesting properly. You can get a permit and picket and shout in a designated area, but as soon as you run people out of a building and disrupt classes, many of which kids are paying $100 a day if you do the math (tuition ******** sucks a**) it stops being constitutionally protected speech.

Honestly I just pulled Vietnam out of a hat. I wouldn't say I misspoke but rather lumped countries into one basket. What I was trying to get at is other countries don't tolerate violent protests as much as we do here in the US. On a different tangent, if we use Johnny Somali as an example, he does shock value disruptive streams. He got kicked out of Japan and now he's DEFINITELY going to do prison time in South Korea. If he did most of the stuff he does overseas in the US he'd probably just get a fine and released same day. Other countries don't tolerate bullshit. That was the core of my argument.

I hate to be THAT guy, but has anyone that's been deported to CECOT been here legally? Like they were all illegal aliens that didn't register for asylum within a year of said illegal entry, right? If these were American citizens or had some form of legal status I'd feel more bad. Hopefully this can set an example to other illegals. Deportation is one thing, but going to THE supermax prison in El Salvador because of a filing error? That is a HUUUUUUUGE deterrent. eek
