They are going to release it for the PS3 eventually, they just had to hold it off because of compatibility issues. Would you rather they release it now with a huge game breaking bug like say going into the water crashes your game. Or would you rather wait?

They designed the game for the 360, Sony's OS is troublesome to work with, they had a contract with Microsoft to give them limited time exclusives.
okay so they can release the original game at the same time for all three systems but apparently can't figure out how to tweak a dlc because sony's os is "troublesome"? and as far as i know the contract with microsoft was only suppose to give them about about a month advance on the dlc. the point i'm making is that the dlc should have been made ready to release on all three systems before it was even released to pc and xbox. that way everything could be released as planned (taking the xbox contract into consideration, which is only suppose to give them a month's head start as far as i know) and there wouldn't be any surprise bugs slowing down the ps3 release. but i guess that's not a good idea and it's easier to just toss out the dlc for pc and xbox to get their money from it.

Exactly this.
Im sick of people defending Bethesda behind such A stupid excuse.
Yes ok there is a difference in the coding between 360 and PS3, thats a no brainer. But then the logical choice is to hold back on 360/PC and wait till PS3 is acceptable. Otherwise your gonna get a sh*t tone of p*ssed of fans. Which they achieved.

Then they go as far as to announce another DLC already, when PS3 users haven't even got the first? Bethesda need to pull their finger out.

I agree the whole thing is bad for business....it's something they need to work harder on in the future.

This is looking like the higher graphics of Minecraft lmao...

Ohoho i see what you did there!
I am serious though lol. Doesnt it look like they are kinda taking a minecraft approach and just pushing it a little further using things already in the game?

It does seem like it lol.

While i am not bitching it could be good but i expect it could go the way of copying them and doing bad for them

Gods know when I'm actually gonna get this DLC as I'm a PS3 user, but I'm excited none the less.

I love the idea of adopting and building your own home - I've actually been hoping for these things since before Skyrim even came out - but I'm losing momentum after seeing the trailer for Hearthfire.
They make it sound all customizable, but from what I saw there's a single house layout that you can build on, but in the end they'll all be the same, and there's no real customization.
Whether I'm right or not, it's something and I won't complain. I'm excited to see that you can adopt more than one kid, too heart

As for the inevitable angry PSN users vs other users debate going on here.. as a PS3 user, I'm irritated too. But as someone that also objectively views the world, I'm not raging over the wait...yet.
So long as we PS3 users get the content, I'm fine. If we end up getting ******** and never see this DLC and any more to come, then I'll have a problem. Looks as if we'll get it just fine, albeit after everyone else, so now we'll just have to play the waiting game.
Bethesda is losing points when it comes to costumer service, though. Glitches and all that is understandable, but there's a limit as to how far you can shove the proverbial stick up your costumer's a**. That is to say, to make a third of your clientele wait a ridiculous amount of time to get content that the other 2 thirds already have is one thing. To do so and then release MORE content for the other consoles -showing that not only are you not putting any real time or effort into rectifying the PS3 issue, but you also don't care about said users' frustration and will gladly piss in their face whilst skipping to the bank with Microsoft- is total bullshit.

Whatever, Bethesda. Just get the content out for PS3, and I'll still love ya.

Is.... is that all? I mean, building your own home is cool and all, I guess, but I doubt I'll actually be AROUND to maintain it.

I dunno, I'd just rather have new enemies to fight and places to explore than some Sims mechanics. :/

Haha, that's what many people here are saying. And it makes sense, because the point of Skyrim (or any other open-world game) is to explore! But at least we got Dawnguard for now smile

Meh, the only reason I got Dawnguard was to try out the Crossbows (Which are OK, I guess), getting my Werewolf form back (And it not being so damn useless like it is when you're in the higher levels), and to change up my character's appearance(My Nord is essentially a Crusader, yet he looks so scrawny, so I'm glad I could change that). I'm still on the fence on determining whether or not it was WORTH the twenty bucks.

Sure, we get two new factions, but just like the Civil War factions, we end up playing the same quests for each side, we just report to a different leader. The only new places we get in the DLC are two castles that serve as the Factions' bases, a couple of linear caves, and a purple soul realm.

Although, I've heard of a side-quest that Dawnguard added that is completely separate from the Dawnguard/Vampire questline, so I guess I'll have to check it out as soon as I can.

Yeah, I'm still debating whether to buy Dawnguard or not. Twenty bucks does seem like a lot, and the frustrating glitches/bugs in the game make me wonder if I'm even gonna enjoy Dawnguard.
However, I do want to buy Dawnguard just to try it out. Skyrim is a very good game in itself, so I can't imagine a DLC somehow making it worse. All those things you mentioned, the bases, the caves, etc., seem like a lot of fun to explore! Especially this side quest you said; everyone knows that side quests give you better loot than main quests xp

Does Bethesda think that PS3 user's money isn't good enough for them or something? I mean, I'm pretty sure they take my country's currency....

Hearthfire just gives you the ability to buy land and build your house on it. That's basically it. It's not going to be like Dawnguard where there were new quests and stuff. Here's the IGN article on Hearthfire:

"Bethesda has revealed the next major downloadable content for Skyrim, called Hearthfire. Unlike the vampire-hunting focus of the last add-on, Dawnguard, Hearthfire doesn't seem to do much to enhance combat. Instead, with Hearthfire you'll be able to purchase a piece of land in Skyrim and build your own house.

Within the custom living space you'll be able build kitchens, greenhouses, libraries, alchemy labs and trophy rooms to show off your accomplishments. Outside it sounds like you'll be able to set up gardens, fish hatcheries and beehives to make resource collection a little more convenient. You can also hire a steward to help out with household tasks.

Hearthfire will also allow you to adopt children and take care of them while they live at your home. Bethesda has set the price of Hearthfire at 400 Microsoft Points and plans to release it on September 4 on Xbox Live."
