Sephiroth is outside the realm of Avatar of Nyx's influence when it comes to being the harbinger of death.

Either way, Nyx Avatar would complete his goal and Nyx would get what she wants

But that would be after the fight's ended and a victor was chosen.

Though I'm still standing by the fact that only the MC of P3 has the slightest chance of actually KILLING Nyx Avatar because he lived in the MC for 10 years and as Ryoji, he stated that only the MC could kill him because of that.

As far as we know, the MC could only have been the only one that could kill him... that was there.
No canon provisions are made for people who have the ability to instantly knock someone down to massive critical status with a single attack.

Seems to me that the only chance Nyx Avatar has of even coming close to making this fight a draw, not to mention a win, is if he's assumed to be undefeatable.
One questions the point of even making a vs thread if you're just going to assume that one character cannot possibly beat the other no matter what they do just because they're not a specific person.

In every "Sephiroth vs Someone" thread I have ever seen, Sephiroth is apparently "super almighty powerful that nobody can defeat ever because of Heartless Angel" and Sephiroth always won. So yes, a part of my reason for creating this thread is to actually "challenge" Sephiroth.

My bigger reason for making this thread is to compare the final bosses of Square Enix's fan-service game and Atlus' fan-service game.

Except it serves little purpose along those lines.
1. Sephiroth is, according to the arguments, far superior in actual power and abilities than Nyx Avatar. The only reason Nyx Avatar isn't a complete loss is because of this supposed ability to not be defeated. The superior combatant is quite obviously Sephiroth though, as without that shield of assumed invulnerability, Nyx Avatar would be wiped out quickly.
2. Sephiroth is not "challenged". He is put into a fight that you assume he cannot win. That isn't a challenge. That's just an unfair bias. You might as well just put him against Mario with an unlimited invincibility star for what it proves.
3. The comparison seems to be that Sephiroth is far more dangerous, and Nyx Avatar cannot beat him with skill/power alone.

See what I'm getting at?

If we want to go the route of not actually deciding the victor through battle, then I could just say Sephiroth calls the Meteor with the Black Materia, absorbs the energy of the planet that they're fighting on, becomes a God, then either wipes out the Avatar of Nyx or just flies off to another planet to repeat the process.

Nyx. I love me some Sephiroth, but the only reason you were able to stave off Nyx in the game was because your character was essentially Jesus. Though I doubt the protagonist could win against Sephiroth, I'm sure only the Protagonist would likely have the power to stop Death itself from wreaking havoc.

2.) Which one had a better "end of the world plan"?

Nyx. It was much more cryptic and subtle at first, followed by a huge, "OH DEAR GOD, IS THE MOON SPROUTING AN EYEBALL?!" ending. Plus Nyx is one of the more ominous baddies in JRPGs.

3.) Anything else you can come up with?

Like I said, I love Sephiroth. He's one of my favorite villains, but his power here is insubstantial and incompatible. Hacking and slashing Nyx Avatar would really do nothing to stop it, as the 12 rounds the protagonists go with it prove aptly.

Sephiroth wouldn't get as far as people would think. IF sephiroth thinks it's going to be easy just to hack and slash he will be stopped before three quarters of the way. Slash reflection/nullification also spells could also be rendered useless as well so Sephiroth.

Don't get how Persona 3 or FF7 is fan-service, but w/e.

What I mean by it is FFVII and Persona 3 have become so popular that their respective game developers have made many spin off titles to tell more of the story for the fans of the game. In P3's case, they remade the game twice as well.
