How do people cheat in runway??

alot of the time, avis that actually do deserve to win or at least rank, dont. not saying you dont deserve your wins or anything, but half of the time it doesnt matter how much effort you put into it or how much gold. there should really be better management of runways.

I don't like to say certain avis "deserve" to win, because that's really subjective sweatdrop but I understand what you mean. Sometimes avatars who aren't in theme take top spots and there's obviously something off with that. But what else can be expected of this voting system?

Well, MY thoughts on it is that it is considered cheating if someone copies another person's avatar. I think that is completely unfair. There is a difference between coincidentally using a lot of the same items and flat-out copying the pose, background, etc.

I've seen similar avatars or similar cosplays because what items are associated with the character, but I haven't seen any flat-out copying. Have you? Doesn't it seem really unlikely that a user would find another specific user, and purchase every item they have equipped to enter runway??

exactly as the staff alert says, people using bots and scripts to give themselves an unfair advantage. personally, i also think using a mass amount of mule accounts to vote for urself is also unfair but not exactly cheating i suppose.

Even if you have a million mule accounts, there's a spam filter to avoid being shown the same avatar over and over, captcha codes at every 20 votes- and most of all, you still have to click through the avis two-by-two to find yourself and vote. I don't understand how having a mule would help you in this situation because these things apply to every account

According to my theory there are plenty of ways to win it, which are not honorable...but that is same as insane amount of voting..those who put more efforts into voting for themselves would obviously win more than those who just have a more deserving avi.

The biggest problem with runway is it not being random enough..some avis appear a hell lot more than others, it has nothing to do with user cheating, but gaia fixing its stuff

Captcha has already been beaten by a few companies. And every now and then there is that one guy who is tech savvy enough to create their own bots. Like what they did with basically every MMO.

Yea, I'd rather have a completely different voting system altogether honestly. A lot of people complain about people voting for themselves or having friends vote for them is cheating, but the system literally allows one to vote as much as they want in a 24hr period. It's not cheating to do so. In my opinion I'd rather have everyone get one vote for each of the avis they think are good and that's it for the 24hr period

I do find it suspicious that some people get like 40 point lead in half an hour..even if their avi is good, that just doesnt happen..I mean, the avi just doesnt appear that many times

Yes the refresh is random but sometimes some avis show up more than others and people can have enough patience to sit there and refresh until they find their own. Just voting regularly, and only refreshing when I encounter avis that don't fit the theme, I've come across my own avi about 3 times before. Votes very much stack.

If a big group of friends just sit and upvote 1 avi (each with several tabs for the same Runway theme open) ignoring all others so that that one avi can win, doesn't that seem like cheating at all?

You really can't earn enough gold from voting for it to make a difference since after the first time you vote for one avi if you vote for it again you don't get any gold at all.

Yes that is cheating, it's just not what I had in mind.

A bot would just be submitting left or right, run for a bit move to the next theme and unbalance the game. I've seen it while engaging in my hot or not binges myself. Yes the same avis show up more than others mostly the ones in the top models bar, for me at least. So I feel like that would contribute to the problem. Gaia should work on it's randomization, I feel like a lot of avis are getting little to no exposure. There are people that I've spoken with on this forum, critiqued their avis, and then did not see even once in runway.

And it makes more sense to me.
I would like to believe that no one has that much free time on their hands to only search and vote for themselves or subject their friends to it burning_eyes . That sounds so dull. I'm sure there are users that do it but not to the extent to where they could rig the whole game.
