Um, could you tell me;
I have around a million, what would be the safest investment to get to 2 mil? Little sums or big investments? I'm just scared of loosing it all =(

it all starts with this magical little hyperlink:
http://www.gaiaonline.com/marketplace/vendsearch/20/?sortBy=91
It shows what is currently listed as, it is listed. You refresh it often to see the most current items for sale. I look at the first 6 items on the list because by the time any deal falls below that, it's already been grabbed by another vender. You simply buy an item that is listed around 3k under the next item listed.

question:
do you think its really necessary using that link in order to get some profit?
in my opinion that link is used to buy Mispriced Items which is really bad since mispriced items are bought withing 5 secounds leaving to the sellers no change to correct their mistake, when the seller notice it the item has already bought by a "Vendor" all tha happens withn 5-10 seconds. with the Link removed the sellers would have some extra seconds to cancel the listing, possibly 10 more seconds a total of 15 seconds to correct their mistake

so i thinlk that link should be removed since as a Vendor i have never used it because i do not want to earn my gold by taking advantage on other people's mistakes.

Kenshin Himura ^_^x your guide is very good but we shouldnt be encouraging people to buy misprice items.. surfing the marketplace is all that we need to do then we keep an eye on a specific and see how the price Fluctuates.

please tell me your thoughts biggrin

Warning, rather long response.
I believe you have misconstrued what I'm trying to teach here. The term "vender" merely means one who sells items purchased from the vend page (the link I showed you). I only get a mispriced about 1% of the time and I usually return it (please see my store). The link is useful only because it enables you to help regulate the marketplace and keep it stable (I do not encourage artificial inflation) by knowing the moment there is a disparity in prices.

Inflation is a natural part of all currency based economies, virtual or not. What I encourage is spotting slight differences within prices and making profit. For example, a 10k difference in price at a price range of 100k will earn one around 8k profit. This is legitimate profit. Multiply this by the max number of items you can sell in your store (10) and you have 80k profit. This profit does not have to be done by purchasing misprices.

As for allowing time for sellers to recognize their mistake, there is a confirmation screen where you can double check what you are doing. It is one's own responsibility to check this and accept your own mistake. No vender is required to return a misprice though I choose do as a reflection of character. I myself have lost at 3 million to a single misprice.
For information straight from the Global Moderator's Mouth, please look here:
Ambu

Don't PM users who purchased your items, in an attempt to get them back when you mis-price the item. All sales are final so when you are selling your item you need to check the prices. If you mis-price an item, please do not PM the user asking or demanding for the item back. They are not required to return the item to you and many buyers consider this rude.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/gaia-marketplace-discussion/gmd-rules-faq-stop-read-this-before-pming-me/t.13778971/

As for other alternatives, of course. I have investing posted in my second post and these disparities of prices can be found at random but the link does help a great deal. Things become less random if you know exactly what to check into.

Edit: I would also like to mention that a mispriced item is one that is severely missing numbers, for example an item that should be marked 1,000,000 is instead sold for 100,000. A 10-50k difference, in most regards, would not be considered a misprice but as inventory dumping.

If I were in your situation, I would invest in 1 or 2 first generation evolving items that are worth at least $10 gaia cash. You will have to let them fully evolve or get close to it to realize your profits but its a safe investment if you don't mind being out 1million in investments. Profits could be close to double if not more.

what im trying to say is whether im or not responsable for mispriced an item because of that link the seller can not cancel the listing on time. with the link removed we would have more time to cancel it.

she doesnt really care. Most Moderators dont play the MP they dont know what is really like.
and you know most gaians are just kids with no experience in the mp, and as you have smentioned you have yourself mispriced an item in the past so you know we all make mistakes. wich is ok we have to learn form our mistakes yeah i know that, if i mispriced an item id hate myself for my stupidity and deal with it. but my point is once again with no link the vendors will not buy it within 5 seconds and i would have time to cancel the listing

tell me Have you ever been given the wrong change in a shop in real life?

Quote:
If I've been given back too much change, I always point out the mistake, and give the clerk the extra back.

I worked as a change person in a casino for a little while, and so I know that if the change person gives the customer more change than they should, that change person has to pay it back to the casino out of her/his own pocket.

its all about values, the moral you have.

about me i learn from watching people, what they do what they think ect..( usually never talk to people)
but i learn better when i do it. smile yep thats what im doing right now... learning

Do you think that me removing a link that everyone on gaia has public access to will really make an enormous difference in the number of misprices that will be purchased? There is 15,000 members of the popular vending guild TVG and all of them know full well how to vend with that link (not even counting the hoarding guild or others like it). I made this thread to allow people to learn how to make money (within Gaia's rules) without them having to be part of a guild. I am educating people.

As I have said before, I do not promote the purchase of misprices but if users choose to do that, that is their right though I feel a moral issue with it. I don't think it is fair for you to judge me or other venders about a possible prejustice that has befallen you. Like I keep telling you, I RETURN MISPRICES and there are others that do the same.

As for the Moderator not caring, I find that an insult to her. Why should gaia be responsible for another's mistake? That's like saying you want your tokens back when you didn't win at gaia cards. You go into it with a level of risk and if you don't like, I wouldn't recommend doing it. There is always the Gaia Exchange.

And by vending and using the marketplace, I am in no way short changing anyone. Transactions have a calculated 2% fee and it is all automated.

o no... i want Gaia to remove that link,
not u.

its just i odnt have the time to pm them
but im working on it. need to build a good case or they will ignore me
Don't attack me for writing a guide and putting a link in it that you don't like. If Gaia removes that link, I will likely quit anyways. Vending is pretty much the only enjoyment I gain from this site...and I can tell you another thing, I most definitely wouldn't be the only one to quit. Besides, online marketplaces such as ebay have the just added section...why not gaia?

Edit: but this is off topic. You're entitled to your opinion and I am to mine. Maybe move your opinions to a different forum. This is for guides.
