I redid my hair guide categories like... 10 times so I wouldn't be surprised
I use spreadsheets to keep track of large guides, it makes it 10x easier, specially when it comes to new items
Even now when I'm going around marketplace and find something new, I'm like "Is this in my guide?" *checks spreadsheets* Oh yeah, it's there
Then I don't have to browse the whole guide of 4581 different items LOL

Sure, the idea is stressful but I felt the same with my hair guide. Technically my hair guide isn't even done yet. I just work on it slowly but the basic information is there
I just think working on a new guide will help in my motivation overall

Right? When I first made the guide. I saved 100 pages. I did not think I'd need them
When I was done adding all the hairs, I took up 70 pages. Then over times, through re-categorizing and adding new items I had to increase it all the way to the 100th page
The amount of times I've shifted the entire guide is... crazy
A lot of Ctrl C + V... like.. A LOT

Right? When I first made the guide. I saved 100 pages. I did not think I'd need them

Yeah... the categorizing was one of the reasons I opted not to do it when I took over solo make-up and mouths. Just, no. Nopenopenope.

Personally, I'd skip the gender bit since, depending on what mods you use, any of the eyes can work for anyone. But I can also see where it'd be useful, so, I don't know. Same for color. Would definitely be handy but, given the number and frequency of recolors, might be way too much work.

Maybe two big categories and lots of subcategories within them? Small eyes (like Starlight Dragon) and big eyes (like, um, Oculus Magica). Then all the same subcats for both.

tab Eyes with Eyebrows
tab Eyes with Eyelashes (noticeably or thick/long ones, I guess?)
tab Eyes with Makeup
tab Eyes with Moles (which I will happily give up-- gives me more room)
tab Eyes with Freckles (also happily would give up)
tab Eyes with Scars/Bruises/Blood (it wouldn't hurt to have it in two guides)
tab Eyes with Glasses/Sunglasses
tab Winking Eye
tab Closed Eyes
tab Non-human Eyes? (split pupil, inverse pupil, heart pupil, etc.)

Or, I guess, three big categories but the last would be "monster" eyes and might not follow the above categories. Cyclops, third eyes, etc. possibly incomplete list (edit: Navean is working on this, so could probably be skipped!)

Faces... yeah. I couldn't even begin to figure out categories for that. I'd say facial expressions but, again, it depends. Some people might see them different ways and then they can always be changed if you equip talkers or other mods.

I'm actually in the process of making an inhuman eyes guide - black & colored sclera, cyclops, third & more eyes, completely empty (no iris or pupil) eyes, eyes on places that aren't the face, and inhuman pupils such as slits (not doing no pupils or things like heart pupils so long as the sclera's white for now for my sanity's sake as I'm considering those to be stylistic choices rather than inhuman). Just an fyi if anyone does take on an eyes guide - y'all could skip those for now and mine my data once I get done enough to post it.

I don't think the closed/winking eyes guide has been updated in a year or two, but I'd have to check. Don't quite remember. I'm bad with dates.

And, oh, no hurry! I don't mind keeping up the moles/freckles... just didn't save enough posts when I took over the guide because I was new to guide-making and didn't know any better. I've probably got 6-12 months before I run out of room. Then I just need to make a new thread, save a lot more pages.

moles and freckles (3 posts) -- the thread is still regularly updated and posted in, so you should be able to just quote and copy/paste. (There are lips mixed in, too, because I wasn't discriminating. So, not a perfect/easy list for you. Sorry!)
