Thank you again! I need all the help I can get lol. I wonder if Gaia intends to "redo" old referenced items, I think they kind of have with some fooly cooly items and chobits items.

I feel like you're going to need a bigger thread. Are you going to be including pieces of the old guides prior to this one, since some users found archived sections of those? Or is this a true 'start from scratch' sort of thing?
A few of them they have, but I think it strongly depends on whichever artist is feeling nostalgic, or wants to celebrate something new.

Let's see...off the top of my head of things missing...

Supernatural (Television series.)

Apotropaic Magic has a few reference poses in it, but the most undeniable one is Angel Banishment, which is nearly identical to the exact same sigil in the series.

+ Recolors
Hunted Ones, a straight cosplay item of the two main characters of the series. Even it's description is a reference to an era and type of songs used in the series. (AC/DC - Highway to Hell)

Ghost Maniac references an ongoing parody within the series of other ghost-chasing reality television shows. The description is nearly word for word the Ghost Facers theme song, and the item blends the looks of several Ghost Facer cast members that appear in the series. The main characters sometimes run into these 'comedy episode characters', though these episodes are done from the perspective of the Ghost Facers.

Wayward Son is a cosplay of Castiel from Supernatural, an angel (complete with his signature weapon and look) who assists the main characters. The item is extremely accurate, and the description, as well as the item's name, quote music from the era that the show pulls it's soundtrack from. (Kansas - Carry on Wayward Son)


So I suppose some song references ended up in there too. Items can be in multiple categories, it happens.


Lost Boys (Movie)
+ Recolors
Midway Monster references Michael, the protagonist, and the situation that landed him into nearly turning into a vampire, complete with his main antagonist/rival from a vampire biker gang. The description is a paraphrase of the actual line in the movie.


Legend of Zelda (Video Game.)

Frigid Sprite directly quotes a certain annoying fairy from the games, and looks similar.


Stargate SG-1 (Television series.)

Apep Cobra Armor is a reference to the ja'fa guards that the fake gods of the series have. They all wear ridiculous, nearly woven metal armor (complete with their short skirts as seen in the item) with these massive mechanical helmets that are made to look like whatever animal best represents that 'god'. You catch hints of this in the description too. The snake false god is the most commonly seen in the series, as is their armor.

Cutie Honey (Anime + Reboots)

The main character of Cutie Honey, an android that transforms into this exact outfit when provoked.

I also want to point out the Princess Jellyfish dress. The character's name is Tsukimi, not Megumi as you've listed. wink

Sorry for not replying in awhile! I've been playing Monster Hunter and making sure my college stuff is getting done lol.

I think Apotropaic Magic has references to each pose, the eyes are a reference to this evil eye, but I'll just put it under Supernatural for now until I find out what the other poses reference lol. The rest I can just take your word for it, most people are right about their fandoms and if something is wrong someone else can come by to correct it (I can just do a basic search for each one to see if it makes sense too lol)

For now it's mostly from scratch, I have found threads that were abandoned to take some references from them. But if I sense at all that they might be active I'll contact them to see if we can collaborate together or if I could salvage their guide. I contacted the specific references guides because it would save space, be up-to-date, and in small way promote their guides. (Though I don't know if people click those links if they are just interested in those items or they just scroll through my guide)

I'll add these items as soon as I am done typing this post!

Magic is certainly a hodge-podge of things, but items can be under multiple categories with no harm or fuss.
It's good that you're including other guides. In your last thread before you moved it, someone posted a link to most of the salvaged, mass-reference list that was deleted and gave rise to all the tiny ones trying to fill it's shoes. You could get a great deal of information from that link.
